From Don Stewart's "The Exekiel 38,39 invasion" in Apendix 1: One of the major interpretive issues in the Ezekiel 38,39 invasion narrative is the proper translation of the Hebrew word Rosh. There are basically two possibilities. Rosh is either a proper noun, the name of the country where the leader Gog comes from, or it is an adjective that means “chief” which describes the word prince. In other words, is Gog the “prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal” or is he the “the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal?” He continues and provides evidence for both positions. Meshesh and Tubal are the children of Japeth and therefore cannot be Russia. The Russians are Edomites, the children of Esau, much like the entire Europe. Today, the children of Japeth are Asians and not white people. Remember also that Iran (Medes & Persians) who were prophesied to destroy Mystery Babylon (USA) are not Arabs but Asians. So in this context, it is not Russia but the Asians that are going to attack.
Scholars do not translate Rosh as a place, no other sources are found and it makes more sense to be the head of a confederacy... Magog, Mesech and Tubal are in modern day Turkey so hat is more likely the place not Russia... No biblical atlas identifies Magog or Rosh in Russia, the most you can push it would be the Scythians which were in Anatolia and modern day Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine
In all fairness, it's mostly speculation at best no matter what since this is a future event we are trying to decipher. If Russia gets its way and Ukraine gets absorbed into Russia territory, it would have a form of that area you mentioned. And if Putin aims and succeeds in reviving the Soviet Union, it could lead to having more territories being absorbed into it. Territories like the ones you mentioned, especially with Iran and Turkey being close allies. We know from the Bible that God mentions "and the many people with you" which evidently suggests the coalition that will invade Israel will likely put the invasion of D-Day to shame. This is what I think and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if I'm wrong. God has always proven that when we think we're right, something happens that reshapes our thoughts completely.

Back in the Soviet days the people had to sneak into basements to hold small church services and it was very looked down upon to own a Bible and many churches were closed. They were considered religious cults.
Russia isnt anti Israel though that I've heard. This video seems like a stretch for current times anyway. Maybe somewhere in the future. A great army from the north could be China too right?
The bible is not talking about the land or the people. Revelations 2:9 they aren't Israel. Israel is a people not a place. It was Palestine up until 1948. There was never a land called Israel just a people.

The parallels between Ezekiel 38&39 and Esther are absolutely amazing. The proof that it was an ancient battle is Chrystal clear. The weapons of war are shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, clubs and spears. The warriors we riding horses, some with chariots in tow. To arbitrarily exchange the weapons in the text for modern weapons, is to read into the text something that isn’t there ! It was most definitely an ancient battle !
Armenia is a Christian country, surrounded with muslim countries. Turkey always wanted to destroy Armenia, and tried it many times. 1915 genocide was just one of them. I don't think Armenia as a land of Armenians would have a part of the plan.
