Predestination; There is a plane leaving the airport at 1:00 pm. It's flight is (predestined) for this time. It's going to leave at this time. you've been made aware of this time, so now it's up to you...whether you are on board or not.
I really appreciate this. Been studying out the predestination/election issue for awhile now. My conclusion has been that we have been generally misunderstanding those verses. So many good points in this video!
Praise and Glory to the only Wise God and Saviour Jesus Christ great Bible study of doctrine the pastor is anointed by God pastor Bernard God bless you and family and congregation
Love and judgment are both contingent upon free will. Predestination as taught by Calvin removes free will, therefore nullifying the judgement of God as you can't judge a person who had no choice in their behavior. Love without choice is manipulation, therefore not genuine.
This was a great podcast Brother Bernard! It would be great if you could talk about the difference between Arminianism and Calvinism and your thoughts on Molinism. Thanks for all you do!
No doubt! I just asked the same thing on another video of Bernard’s then found this one. I’d love to hear Bernard tackle these issues on an in-depth level. I had a boss one time who was a genuinely good Baptist man and he believed the “once saved always saved” doctrine. He’d always get around my questions and explain himself by saying, “son, now do you really believe someone saved would ever turn their back on God, or do this sin or that sin if they’re really saved?” HA! I’d be like well when you put it that way. Then I’d just change the subject or something😊 One part I’m very interested in is the sovereignty of God. For example, I’ve always believed 100 percent that God is indeed sovereign. I mean, for me it’s he’s either God, and almighty God or he isn’t. Also, I gladly accept the pros and cons believing it that way. Something that’s always bothered me by Reformists, is it seems like way too many of them believe in a sovereign God for the pros, but start double talking when folks bring up the cons, as in suffering, natural disasters, war, children dying of cancer, starvation, etc… My point is, I would never blame God but at the same time he is God and knows all and can do all. I might not know why God don’t intervein, or do this or that, but if he’s God he’s God and he’s sovereign. I don’t know, maybe I’m missing something, but I liked to hear the Pentecostal teaching on all of it.
I’ve been watching the videos, it’s very good! Thankful for this channel, Very informative, and provokes me go read even more for good understanding in context. I see that he answers questions many may get rebuked for asking in their local assembly which leads me to this question, hoping we hear about it soon! I would like to hear the position on the beard, concerning upc. I’ve been asked questions, as to why is it not allowed being God gave it? It’s sad because all I have to say it’s just the standard. And if a preacher or minister were to grow one, from what I hear and understand, it can put them in a position of being rebellious because a standard was made, it was once not a sin but disobeying or not abiding by the standard leaves it to say it’s now sin because because they’re not obeying the standard. It’s not a sin to have one, but because a standard is in place, and we don’t obey, then that preacher must sit. I would love to hear more on this specific thing. And gain clarity. And if it should not even be a standard, how do we adjust? Thank you Dr. Bernard! Awesome man of God!
Dr Bernard, I agree to a considerable extent. Jesus, however, went and asked particular fishermen to follow him, not that the fishermen asked if it was ok to follow him.
I heard an apostolic preacher say. Predestination means the church is predestined. This does not imply a single individual. As Christ said if you remain in me I will remain in you. So as long as you remain in the body of Christ/bride. You shall be saved. And remain a partaker of the goodness of God.
Amen I I noticed in newer translation they trying to take free will out of the Bible. And add something else in there that's why I hold to the King James version this was a good video God bless you.
Reprobation unto destruction ; predestination unto salvation. GOD knew the end from the beginning. GOD already knew from the beginning who will and will receive not HIM . GOD redeem the redeemable, Jn. 6: 37,44.
John Calvin is idolized, worshipped, followed, and served by many. They follow Calvin and not Christ. They try to justify their idolatry by saying that Calvin followed Christ. Yet, Calvim murdered Michael Servertus, who didn't agree with him. Even if Calvin had not committed murder, he is not to be looked to at all. He was just a man
I don't know too much about Calvin or Michael, but I do know that the Apostles preached what Christ commanded of them, and I received the Holy Ghost by obeying Acts 2:38, and I also spoke in other tongues just like the Apostles did on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4, and I was instantly delivered and set free from multiple drug addictions, alcohol, cigarettes, lying, swearing, stealing among other sinful things I was bound by, so I can testify to the Holy Ghost being real. And as long as I try my best to be obedient to the Word of God in the Holy Ghost Christ will take care of the rest!
@Jim Brandyberry Sorry but I learned all this about. Michael Servetus from brother Nathaniel Urshan and brother Sabin Two UPCI preachers. You could find the video here on RU-vid.
If our response happened before we were born or formed in the womb then both sides of this debate can be correct, what does the Bible say. Were we known before the womb? Did we exist before the womb? Is there any Bible for that?
12:56 "... and if you don't pursue holiness you won't see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)" I've heard two different interpretations of this scripture: 1) if you don't pursue holiness you won't go to heaven (Bro Bernard's interpretation). 2) if you don't pursue holiness nobody else will see the Lord in you as a testimony of his presence in you. The first seems like a contingency on salvation, the other like a biproduct of salvation. Which one (or some other alternative) is correct?
The are same since holiness is already package of Grace how we respond to God's grace or slavation provided by Jesus😇He mentioned in this video about the Repentance,Baptism of water and Holy Spirit ,and he mentioned about Cornelius which is the first gentile to receive salvation and grace of God😇🙏Holiness is imparted🙏
But plain understanding of the text suggest the first interpretation. And by pursuing holiness, we consequently display a good testimony of the life transforming grace we recieved.. All glory to God!
Almost everyone knows John 3:16 but one cannot develop a doctrine based on that verse alone . Take the parable of the sower out of four only one makes it , broad is the road that leads to destruction , narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it . John ch 17 Jesus prays and says that “ those you have given me Father I will in no wise lose one of them “ God the creator of all things can do whatever he wants with his creation , he can save who he wants to , Paul says in Philippians chapter 2 “ work out your own salvation with fear and trembling , for it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure the real evil in man is to try and replace a sovereign God with a God that requires our decision whether we will accept him or not Paul says in Romans 9 Who art thou oh man that reply’s against God Does the potter not have power to make one vessel unto honour and another unto dishonour?
Dr Bernard, your explanation does not quite sit right with me on predestination, because in Malachi 1:3 God says " Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I hated....." And this was before the two were born cp Romans 9:10-13! Now further to this, if " God is Love" 1 John 4:8 How could He hate anyone?
It only means that God chose Jacob above Esau for His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. Doesnt mean that He hated Esau in the sense that we would understand it. Its the same idea that we find in the New Testament where Jesus says: Anyone who does not hate his father or mother cannot be My disciple. He says that we have to love Him more than anyone and anything else. Doesnt mean that we have to hate our family, but that we must put God first. Hope this helps. Blessings from the Netherlands.
If the choice is in spirit outside of time before we are formed in the womb, then it would be made and simultaneously known, AKA blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 9 will tell us that He will have mercy to whom will have mercy. This is the reason why I believe in the subject of predestination why? When you use Ephesians 2 read v1-8. You will realize that even our FAITH was NOT embedded in us. We cannot have faith without God allowing or giving it. You see, verses 1 -4 clearly will tell you that we are dead in our sins. And what can a dead man do? John 6:44 and 65 clearly show a conditional statement. "UNLESS" the father draws him to me. Unless God the Father gives him faith IN CHRIST. Yes, we still have the ability to choose. But, when it comes to our soul "we are dead in our sins". And faith is not a mechanical process. It is God himself who enables that. Well, an atheist can have faith that a banana is their long-lost relative. But, the type of faith that is given by GOD for the salvation of one's soul. The prophet Ezekiel wrote what is going to happen, that HE WILL PUT A NEW HEART AND A NEW SPIRIT. May God bless each and every one of you.
"Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure of his will" Ephesians 1:5 KJV "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee and before thou comest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee a prophet unto the nations" Jeremiah 1:5 KJV Before we are birthed into the earth, God had planned and purpose for us as He had for Adam in Genesis 1:26, when He created them as His image and likeness where they were created as spirit beings as John 4:24 reveals that God is a Spirit. Then when we are birthed into the earth as a physical being with body (flesh), God gave us the opportunity to choose as He did with Adam when he was created a physical being with a body through the dust of sand snd breath of life was breathed into him. We must be ready to obey God totally for us to fulfill His purpose for our lives. If we refuse to obey God, then we will cut short of His purpose for us. The will of God for us, is to be saved. Jesus died for everybody. 13:40
This is a great explanation except the last eternal salvation .. If you are truely saved by GRACE... You can't be plucked from Him. Grace is HUGE.. You can turn or pretend or not be close... lose your salvation.. No and the Bible doesn't say you can fall from grace.. I've heard that too but if speaking about Paul saying this in Galations.. Read again. He is NOT saying that at all.. But opposite... You can't fall from grace
Please, explain Acts 13:48, a passage used by Calvinists to support their doctrine of predestination. "And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed."
Adamn snd Eve weren't depraved they were created in the image of God, therefore they had no problem until the serpent came. The serpent was depraved, but Adam and Eve weren't UNTIL they disobeyed God by listening to and obeying the serpent tGod didn't create us depraved
Sure, so salvation is in the hands of man's will! Heresy in the midst! God is the author salvation! Man's only wills to sin! Human beings are not totally destroyed? The Bible says that we are dead in sin!! Dead means dead! No life! No response! DEAD! This guys is totally wrong!
@@roywood8598 dead from good works. Dead in our sin. We love sin and hate Jesus. That is the natural condition of every man. When you have a loved one who is Not saved, do you tell him to smarten up and start believing, or do you pray for him knowing it's all in God's hands?? If you pray, then you acknowledge that God controls salvation, not mans decision because man will never come to that decision of submission to Christ ways
@@michaeltorah4002 Yes, the Holy Spirit convict us of our sin and then we have to accept the conviction and then confess our sin, then by grace and faith, we become saved. But if we refuse to confess our sin after we have been convicted, then we won't get the salvation that was available for us by grace. 13:40
Isaiah 10:5-7 easily refutes the notion you present which is that God needs our permission before He can save us. Ask Nebuchadnezzar whether God asked him permission before He caused him to crawl on all 4 limbs and eat grass like an ox. You limit God’s sovereignty when you say these things brother
I believed that God respects covenants. If we get into agreementnt with the evil side God will recognise that. You then have to denounce that agreement and give God permission to work in your life.eg people that get into occult or witchcraft. God is sovereign for sure but he gave us a free will to chose which side we want to go to
I think that's my biggest problem with these notions- that they limit His sovereignty. Again it's about our human state, our radical corruption, that we then recognize why there's the rest of TULIP.
Umm... God gave Nebuchadnezzar a choice. He chose his own will and sovereignty. THAT is why God caused him to act like the cattle. Please, read what you are referencing before you reference it.
See, that's the problem. People get upset because they think one group's view (the free will group) denies the sovereignty of God. But the other group gets upset because they perceive that the one group (the only-certain-people-can-go-to-heaven group) presents a deceitful God. I personally don't think that God giving people a choice in any way diminishes His sovereignty. 🤷🏾♀️
❤️ Calvinism as well as any of the other "isms" are lies ....and we KNOW by the Word of GOD that Yeshua wants everyone to come to the TRUTH and be converted and live and none to die in lies .GOD knows ahead of time who will live and who will not.but every person is invited to life by YESHUA and just need to CALL on him and live !!! Peace 🕊️
Councils are not the authoritative Word of God. Your claim is false. Calvinists do not value Biblical authority. Instead, they hold to heretical traditions.
John Calvin had people who didn't agree with him burned at the stake that alone disqualifies him from being an example of the believers. Sad, but true.
So what you’re telling me is God sent his Only Son to open the Salvation Buffet to everybody who chooses it? God exists outside time and space. He’s not experiencing every day afresh along with humanity. He’s all knowing and all powerful. To act like He’s limited by us is exceptionally silly. God has determined everything. Deal with it.
The Lord did not give up his life on the cross to give people an opportunity to be saved ! He saved all the father give him to save an he said it was finished! You have a weak savior!
mmmm false anti gospel trough men choice and will !!!! Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure of his will" Ephesians 1:5 KJV Paul clearly teach the contrary of K.Bernard ! Rom.9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
