lon Musk's car company Telsa has issued a recall for all of its Cybertruck electric pickup trucks because its accelerator pedal can get stuck down. Cybertruck owners reported that the pad covering the accelerator pedal could come loose and get trapped by the vehicle's trim. That causes the truck to accelerate unintentionally, raising the risk of a crash. The Cybertruck is Musk's latest brainchild being released just five months ago after repeated delays. This comes at a particularly bad time for Tesla.

The stainless steel frame rusts and stains easily, the doors' edges are sharp enough to hurt people, the headlights can blind incoming drivers , the battery doesn't last long, the trunk is small as a micro truck's, the rear camera does not work at night, but the biggest problem which demands a recall is one of the pedals. Really?

My experience working on a assembly line. I doubt the employees provided their own soap. Willing to bet that the soap was provided but musk's ego refuses to let him take the blame for a mistake

I know people who used to work before Musk took control of Tesla as well as people who worked for Tesla during his tenure. I can say that people were genuinely happy before Musk and the people on the line during his tenure feel very pressured and unhappy. I am certain that the soap was supplied, its not like they would have just brought it in from home. So, its basically blaming the employees for something he doesn't want to take the blame for. If there is an investigation, it would be awesome if there was some documentation on this fact.

The stainless steel is known to rust if you don't wash it constantly. There was just an article that someone's warranty was voided because they took it through a car wash. You're paying $90,000 for a truck that you have to constantly hand wash.

Stainless steel is used in the food industry specifically because it doesn't rust, must be low grade stainless or other non stainless steel parts that rust I'd think, weird...

@@ithewanderer830 I work in the food service industry. Stainless steel does rust, it's just resistant to it, depending on the particular alloy. Even the most resistant alloy will corrode eventually, and will stain long before that. But yeah, based on the images I've seen of rust-streaked cybertrucks, the alloy they are using has very low corrosion resistance. It doesn't even look like stainless steel.

It is crazy, but a lot of the weight is due to US overall vehicle preferences for massive vehicles and not really EV specific. Many non-EV SUVs and trucks are already around the 6,000 lb weight. Here's but a few. Chevrolet Tahoe 5600 lbs. GMC Yukon 5,800 lbs. Toyota Sequoia 6,000 lbs. Lincoln Navigator L 6,100 lbs. Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab 6,500 lbs. Chevrolet Suburban 6,600 lbs. Ford F350 Super Duty Crew Cab 6,700 lbs. GMC Sierra 3500 HD Crew Cab 6,700 lbs. Ford F450 Super Duty Crew Cab 8,600 lbs.

It’s just a testament to Musk’s delusions of grandeur. The electric car market has clearly moved on, yet Musk is still high on his own ego. My unsatisfactory experience car shopping with Tesla, as well as build quality issues has driven me to recently purchase an Audi E-Tron (no pun intended.) In my opinion, it’s simply a better car. And though I personally don’t care for his politics, his business model is clearly failing. I suspect shareholders won’t tolerate this for much longer.

In usa huuuuuuge trucks are the no 1 seller. So as a Tesla a usa based manufacturer they need to cover this market especially as the ice huuuuuuge trucks like the ford f150 use a lot of fuel. Musk is an increasingly loathsome character. As long as he is at the helm both Tesla and Twitter are doomed to fail. There are simple too many far less controversial alternatives to both his cars and his social network to foresee anything but inevitable failure for both. Public opinion of him is on a dramatic downward spiral that can’t be good for either company. I can’t imagine intelligent shareholders will tolerate their accelerating financial losses for much longer.

Unlike a gas car, if you press the brake while the accelerator pedal is depressed, the truck will stop. Brake overrides accelerator on Teslas.

2:10 Autopilot in the Cybertruck is part of the software, it's just not available yet. Actually, all the Founders Series trucks come with FSD, it just isn't enabled yet. Both will get activated with a software update at some point ...but to say it has a problem is plain wrong.

The design is very innovative. There are people who drove the truck found things they didn't like about it. From what I have seen it is interesting to drive it. E. Musk is a genius with his way of innovation. I have been in Tesla cars. Very interesting in their performance.

Yeah... The problem they fixed with a simple hole and a rivet. 1-minute work and $0.01 part. Now compare it to possible fires of F-150 batteries, which stopped deliveries for 2 months, or 150k recall for GM Bolt batteries, which actually burned some houses, or the falling of wheels in Toyotas, or the newest recall of all Broncos, which can switch off during ride... It is only the tip of the iceberg. If you compare it to Tesla, the current problem is a joke. But do we have constant interviews about all of these mishaps of other automakers? Not really. Tesla is a loved company to hate and generate clicks. Who cares about Ford or GM. These are vanishing dinosaurs...
