Thankyou for testing it on actual wavy hair. Seen it tested out a lot on hair that’s already kinda straight. Anyway I got mine yesterday and I love it!!

Absolutely! Any heat brush will work on naturally straight hair so I wanted to give it a challenge! So glad you love it, it definitely exceeded expectations ☺️

Just found your channel today and I’m SO happy to find such useful reviews. I have the Vidal Sassoon Diamond Luxe heated brush (model VSP2440A) and I have to say it straightens pretty well as long as I use tension which I do via preceding the heated brush pass with my hair clamped between a straightening brush (those double sided short bristle hair brushes that are joined on one end like a pair of tongs). Now I have long, naturally curly hair, it’s quite thick (as in the amount I have) but strand wise, it is quite fine). I live in Oz where humidity is the bane of my life and I definitely don’t use these if I need my hair straight for any length of time. Say I was just having friends over (so we’d be in a cool house for the evening) it would be fine, but a quick reminder that these don’t get it poker straight like my dedicated straighteners do. I have the old GHD 4 and am dying to try their new technology. I always give my old pair on to a friend who would just never be able to afford them herself so that but feels pretty good. This time, I’m not sure which straightener to go for? My hairdresser swears by MUK. I’d never heard of them until she used them on me. Can you give me some pointers as to best to consider and also ones to avoid! The only reason I came online and ended up scrolling through old videos on this channel was because I recalled having bought something new from GHD (gosh maybe a year ago!) but couldn’t recall (terrible I know). Got me thinking maybe I’d bought the next best GHD straighteners because they were on offer and I’d pass my old ones on in due course. When I went into my robe, I found a brand new, not even taken out of the box GHD Classic Curve gift set (comes with the glove, mat and storage pack thingymebob). Hence I found you when I searched how to use said Curve. Boy am I glad it ended up being your personal favourite or that could’ve been an expensive mistake to make. I have all these great plans for my hair but it always, without fail, ends up poker straight. I have 2 of those rotating styling brushes (I quite raw those, even the cheap version I bought as well as a more expensive one), I’ve got a massive set of super dooper top end heated rollers (never used as I cut my waist length hair off the very next day after a split up 😂) and I also found not one, but TWO curling tongs with a variety of interchangeable heads from say a cm to 3” wife! I could start my own salon 🤔 Anyway, in all seriousness, whilst I love my GHD 4’s, they need replacing as it’s taking more than one pass to straighten. What would you recommend in that category? The only stipulation I had been thinking of was a wide plate given my hair is super long but if you feel that compromises the result then rule that out. As for the curling side of things, I think I’ve got that one totally covered (for the next 10 years 🤣). New subbie from Brisbane here too by the way 👋🏼xx

Thank you for sharing that video! Would I be able to use the straightening brush with dry shampoo on? Or only on clean hair?

You can use it if there's a bit of product, just make sure it's well brushed before you use it & you may need to clean it before the next use!

Thank you for a good review! I don't find any retailer how has it so I can try it IRL. So maybe you can help me! I have thin, straight and flat hair, with very little friss. My hair loves to be straight, so curls stay put only for some hours and stay half done for for many days after. I have many but thin straws and almost to the elbow. I never need to straight my hair, but I am interested into Glide because I have a hair that tangel extremely much and maybe this bruch can help? I have always had very tangeled hair, even when I had shorter then Victoria Beckham lenght. I over load it with care at washing (and everyday but with not so much impact on the tangel)and it makes it tangel free for some hours, so my hair is really tangel-bomb naturally. Do you think Glide can make it less tangeled? Thanks for your help!!!

Hey Maria, by your description we have very similar hair! My hair still got a little tangled a few hours after using the Glide- not as much as usual but still. Have you tried a Tangle Teezer brush? I also use a product called Revlon Uniq1 in the mornings and it helps my hair from getting too knotty. I hope that helped!

@@KristyJoan Hi Kristy! Thank you so much for your answer!!! It's gold!!! Lovely to find a tangel-friend!!!👋 Do you think it is worth the investment or does it not perform good enough for the money? I have a ton of mini tangel teezers and I bought a new flat brush from Aveda that is magic day one and two...then is it back to the teezer. I always sleeping with my hair tight up some how and dry my hair with Aquiz has improved my tangeling alot (biggest change for my hair so far). The round blow out teezer didn't not work on me and just hurted! I have not tried the leave in, will check it out, every tips on things that can work is awesome!.. Have you found any shampoo and conditioning that works wonders on you? The best conditioning I have used it the hair mask from Sisley, but it is a investment and it's really good on my hair, but not perfect so I trying to found something wow. I always use treatment /mask as conditioning because normal conditioning do nothing on my hair, feel no difference at all. Thank you so much about your recommendation and thoughts!!

Heya, there's a really fantastic treatment that you can use as a conditioner by an Australian brand called Muk, it's called the 1 Minute Softening Treatment. It's my go to product for extensions that get extremely knotted. If you're overseas, I'd go for the Big Sexy Hair Smooth treatment. Both brands are not too expensive!

Ooh that did pretty good work, I have really thick frizzy bleached hair, even not coloured my hair snaps so I'm wondering if this might be better for my hair than the flat iron, I have a cloud 9 iron and thought it was better after using a GHD for many years, I rarely straighten my hair now because it is so damaged. Games I'm so glad I found your channel. 🙌👌

I have a jaw length bob, do you think this would work or is my hair to short?
@KristyJoan
@KristyJoan 5 лет назад
It probably depends; if you've got quite thick hair that would give the brush tension as you pull down it would be worthwhile. If you have my hair texture it probably wouldn't be any more beneficial than using a straightener!
@deboraho6350
@deboraho6350 5 лет назад
Thanks for being honest, I have fine hair but loads of it, but I don’t think it’ll provide any tension to the brush, so I may skip this one.

I have the same type of hair and length and it works like a dream. I absolutely love it and it actually keeps my hair straighter for longer. It really has surprised me as I expected it not to work great on me but I highly recommend it

Hi. Does this brush work with wet hair too, or does it need to be dry? Thanks. Great video.

It's only for dry hair, it's like a straightener it would fry wet hair!

Have you tried any other straightening brushes that you can compare it to? Eg. Dafni. Also how would you go about cleaning the brush with product build up? Thanks
@KristyJoan
@KristyJoan 5 лет назад
Heya! I've linked a previous video in the description bar that I tried of the Silver Bullet heated brush + I think the GHD Glide is WAY smoother + defrizzing. The best way to clean the brush would be using cotton tips with alcohol between bristles + finish with a clean cloth to remove any excess moisture before using ☺️

Hi, I have never used a straightener before for the fear of burning my scalp. Does the brush get too hot to burn your scalp?

Rainah Loy Heya, it stayed straight + frizz free for two days until I washed it, but I did go over my ends because they just weren’t straight enough!

So I got this for Xmas , and just used. Not really impressed as it’s so easy to burn yourself. My hair is so liar to your style. I burnt my hand and burnt my ear due to the hot probes being exposed. If your hair is fine then it works great leaving a shine and silky smooth. My daughters hair is long really long and thicker also work ok but better for shorter hair and finer. Really expensive here $270. I’m not a fan think better products out there that are a little less dangerous.
@gabbieanniex
@gabbieanniex 3 года назад
Also I used a brush to help press down on the hair to get the ends as I’m using the hot brush and stops me burning myself seem better for a second day hair day or quick straightening any time of the day

So odd, I've never burnt myself using the brush x
