You're comparing fiction (Hunger Games) with non-fiction (in this case Carr's book). While nothing replaces reading a great book cover to cover, 90% of nonfiction books are abandoned after the first chapter. We consume nonfiction for advice, howto, and answers. And many nonfiction books have grown filled with never-ending anecdotes. Fiction, on the other hand, is for pleasure, the mental movie you build in your mind's eye...
the truth is that nothing can make you stupid, or smart. you are born with your aptitude and that is all there is too it. your development in the grand scheme of things is predestined from conception so theres nothing to worry about
This was already happenning before the internet and in a worst way. Nothing on this video shows internet makes you dumber, you can remove the whole idea of the internet and show how in the past most ppl woldnt read a book and only the short version or the back or only a couple pages and talk about it without finishing it and then realising the author changes his views by the end and so on.
