Well good to see someone has had success with their new LSA method. They have had my impact driver for a month so far and all I received was an email Nov 1st saying a tech was working on it. Debating on when to call and see what's going on or... Will be making a rant video about it either way at this point. They have failed my test of the new system. Course in the old days if you had one piece of a tool kit that needed repair you had to take every item from that kit to HD so they could check the numbers. They would deny the repair if you didn't still have every piece of a combo kit.

Saturday, 11/18/2023, I purchased a Ridgid Max Output 2Ah Battery. I registered it on 11/19/2023. It all went good until I listed my Registered Ridgid products. This new Battery showed a "Ridgid 3-year Warranty". The Blister pack, however, shows Ridgid Lifetime Warranty. I asked Home Depot and they said I need to speak with Ridgid directly but She said they recently changed the battery warranty. I feel bad because I bought all new Ridgid Tools over the past year and junked all my Ryobi and DeWalt Tools because of the Ridgid warranty. Hopefully, I can work something out with Ridgid. BTW, I think the Guy's name on the Ridgid "Thank you" is "David". Thanks for the video.

YEP the LSA is the reason I've bought so many Ridgid tools over the last 6 months. I'm not a pro. I'm a home DIYer/weekend warrior and that Lifetime Service on batteries is amazing! I bought another brand back in early 00s and when the battery died, the company had changed everything and wouldn't warranty it. Said "batteries aren't covered". ugh....so when I saw Ridgid covered batteries also, I was hooked. That's amazing and I've honestly LOVED the tools I've bought from them. Really high quality stuff and perfect for my needs and it's not green.....YUK. Also I picked up that vacuum you have there after watching your review of it. You said it was loud but holy cow, I didn't know it was THAT loud. That's my only complaint and the good far outweighs the bad on that one....for sure! Anyways, thanks for all the vids man, your channel rocks!!

Yeah it is loud but it does suck good…lol! When I started on Ridgid they didn’t cover batteries and when Ridgid discontinued their 12V line, they cancelled the LSA on all my 12V tools. They ticked me off when they did that!

Don't understand why all people don't buy Ridgid I'm not that big on the fastest because seconds faster in real life is not really felt and any will do the job but Ridgid has some of the best tools made but Milwaukee holds them back and that bs because there suppressing Ridgid's for example look at new high torque ttc showed that the bigger hammer in Milwaukee the one Ridgid wanted but Milwaukee put it in there's and put a lighter spring and assembly housing to make Ridgid weaker it's bs

I don't own any Rigid tools but I've had to send in a few Milwaukee batteries and as long as they're still under warranty, they always just send me new ones. I've sent in 2 m12 6ah batteries and most recently 2 m18 8ah batteries. The problem I was having with them is they weren't fully charging all the way. Also, last year I had to send in an m18 Brad nailer because it started shooting two nails at a time. They sent me a new nailer! Whatever you send in, if they can't fix it, they'll just send you a new one! All free shipping too!

Greetings from Puerto Rico, sure is great to find a new battery in the received box, isn't it? We don't have that service here yet, but that isn't a problem, we just call or do the process online. When calling, we are asked what is the problem with the battery and and some other questions and they send a new one. Once the new one is received, we have to register it too. But with tools is another issue, we have to take it to a service center, for me that represents a 2 hrs drive since they don’t fix them in Home Depot, and the is only one service center in whole Puerto Rico. But I don't have any complaints, because I love the LSA, (Life Time Warranty) I just regrets that one of my children gave me a whole set as a father's gift and it was only Warranty for 3 years, tools still working but the batteries die on me.
@nathan1sixteen

I believe their policy for batteries for years has been to just send out new ones under the LSA. I wonder if it would be any different with a tool.

I have to say my experience with Ridgid was not pleasant. This was years and years ago and I bought the Ridgid platform for the battery warranty. The time comes to send it back and no problem they sent me refurbished batteries. Then this is where the issue happened. I had another issue so sent them back again and they said that when I received my previous warranty batteries I was supposed to reregister them again. There was nothing mentioning this as I thought when I originally registered that was a lifetime registration. I ended up giving my tools to a friend and moved on. Not sure if this is the case nowadays but it is worth checking into so you do not have the same experience as I did.

Has Ridgid changed their battery platform lately, or does it plan to? I assume replacement batteries are only good until they move to a new version? Vs like a Ryobi whos says they don't plan to change anytime soon. Or, lets say a drill goes bad that has been discontinued. If they can't fix it they will replace it with the current comparable model?
@GarenP
@GarenP 7 месяцев назад
LSA is "repair or replace", it's up to them, whatever gets you a working tool. Downside is waiting and being without the tool. Have heard of people getting new models because the older ones were long discontinued.

I took my R4331 planer in to get it repaired and got it back 2 months later. Went to use it and it was still messed up. Took it back in for repair and now I'm still waiting. They say they are waiting for Rigid to send them the parts. It's been 5 months now that I'm without a planer. Thinking of buying a Dewalt 735 and keep the Rigid as a backup. The LSA is great, but the actual repair and service sucks!

Did they say if they tested it and give a reason to why they sent you a new battery? I ask because, with Milwaukee they have notes stating they they tested everything, what they replaced and why. If they repaired it and what was faulty etc. They even provided a fake cost that was covered by the warranty. Example: I sent out a bandsaw that didn't run when the trigger was pressed. The light would light up but no motor. So I filed a claim. They provided the shipping label. I boxed it up and they provided a tracking system to follow the progress. After being tested, they repaired the trigger assembly and shipped it back out to me. About 2 weeks total. I got the box back from Milwaukee with an letter stating that they tested the tool, found a bad switch, repaired it, estimated the cost to be around $70 for the part, but it was covered under the 5 years according to the serial numbers I provided even without proof of purchase. I literally received the same used to back and it works just like a brand new tool would. Just scuffed up like I had it beforehand. So in all, I got my money's worth. And still covered for the next 2 or 3 years.

Clint, not to be contrarian, but isn't the claim that they can turn it around in "as little as 14 days"? Not that it WILL be that little. ALSO: Don't forget to RE-REGISTER that batt-ray! It's necessary since it is a new batt-ray, and has a new serial number. If you don't re-register, you will lose your LSA coverage.
@floobertuber
@floobertuber 8 месяцев назад
Update: I had a worn-out brushed drill-driver replaced under LSA years ago. They drop-shipped me a new and better brushless tool. And now that I think about it, I _think_ they actually did the LSA update for that new model and S/N as part of the process. But that was something like 2012, so I can't be 100% sure of my memory. Of course, their process might've changed over time, too. Either way, I would definitely log back into your LSA account and check your list of registered products, to ensure the new batt-ray is in "LSA active" status.
