Does This Finish Line "Hack" Actually Work? - Forza Horizon 5 | Eliminator Gameplay 

What do you think about this strategy? Does it actually work?

Great video, interesting analysis and really well presented evidence. I think my personal cobclusion from this and others' gameplay (and my own) is that the finish line is in the direction that the majority of players are relative to the centre of the final arena (so not necessarily the direction that they are headed) but that can clearly be influenced by car level when there's an equal number of players in different directions. For my own gameplay, I think I'll go in the conventional direction if in a high level car, but if I have a worse game and am in a lower level car, roll the dice going slightly unconventional but still the approx direction of other players - a perfect example being the desert finish line you forced heading South-West rather than the conventional South-East. Looks like in the vast majority it did not work. I think the game randomly decides where to place the finish, based on the direction the players are driving. Obviously when more player choose a "unusual" direction, the odds are higher. So i would look on the minimap and watch the amount of players driving in each direction and follow the majority. If i have a lower level car and it is clear my chances are to low, i would drive in the direction nobody is driving and hope to get lucky.

Great work👍Have you ever seen a high level car affect the finish line in this way (taking the not usual exit)? Besides the player positions and directions, I assume that a random factor also influences the finish line. It has to, otherwise the pattern would be too obvious.

So I finally nailed it in a Lvl 2 Audi vs 3 Brockys by going in opposite direction.

So you're the one making these final pins appear in the opposite direction? I thought it was Fozra keeping us on our toes and guessing. Its panic stations when you are flying through the start at 300kph in the AMG 1 and the pins appears directly behind you. D'oh!!

If I had to guess how the final showdown direction is selected, I would say the game randomly picks one driver but with low level cars having a heavier weight. Such as a level 10 weight = 1 and level 1 weight = 3 or 4. If you team up with someone (like in the NickelColt attempts) your weight means you are REALLY likely to force the final showdown direction. Now imagine a herd of Beetles going at full speed in the "wrong direction". 😮 Thanks for the 50 final showdowns sacrifices FOR THE SCIENCE. 👍😁

I'm wondering if they do not apply now the same algorithm than the one we have in FH4 ie 2 or 3 options for the finish line with when it's possible one of them head for a full opposite direction than the core one. 🤔

This strategy is interesting, me and matigamer win with the lv1 beetle with the help of this strategy like in this 05:55 and it actually work! And i win the race, so my opinion was if there's a more than 1 player with the low level car and heading to the different direction than it will be work, but if there just a 1 player with the low level car and heading to the different direction it will be not possible. But that just my opinion awesome video bud!😎👍

Now I get it why a L5 Ford Focus beat my L10 Brocky, we were only 2 in the arena and I went a complete different direction of the race while the Focus nailed it.

Hmm, interesting, but the results would seem to show that it's a random choice. You'd really have to do it thousands of times to see if it was biased by player car/position. I think they recently switched it up to offer more finish destinations in both regular and final races, so the fact that this sometimes works is just coincidence, and not a predictable pattern.

Interesting analysis, i will keep that in mind. Furthermore great hints at the end. The first one is essential. For me its also quiet important to be everytime in moving. Especially with lower lvl cars.

Awesome work on the video 👌...I've been really looking forward to the results of all your hard work!! You got some really interesting results. I wonder if car level has anything to do with it? And its just the bulk of the cars and their averaged direction? As I'm rarely surprised by the final location as I'm already heading full-bore in the direction I think it will be (and thankfully - usually correct!). Only sometimes when there is a group going in the other direction...that it catches me out. When you had others assisting you it looked more reliable...Either way a good strategy if your stuck in a low level car for the final! 😉 I really liked the results from Baja! Absolute perfection 😎 Plus, I never really enjoy the normal direction from Baja, so many dunes and rocky outcrops. I will try that next time 😁 And nice win in the Mini 😁 One day I will achieve that 😂😂😂 6:12 This is the one I sent you, with two players we were able to get the final pin at the very SE corner of the map 🤯 Ideally the finish pin would be completely random, as that would make it a lot harder, and level up the playing field for people with lower level cars 👍

I have to say it is rare that I have got the direction of the FS totally wrong . Historically if I am close to surviving to the FS in a low level car, I will Kamikaze challenge / attempt to snipe a big car. I might must just stop stop doing that and to force the FS destination given I have nothing to lose.
