Charging to 100% on a SuC is usually a waste of time. Charging to 100% on other chargers is not only a waste of time, but a waste of money - they charge by time, as well as energy, so the slower the charger, the more expensive it gets.
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 3 месяца назад
Tesla SuC doesn’t charge based on time. Only kWh.
@LICHINHO
@LICHINHO 3 месяца назад
@@europeinatesla Yes, I know that. That is why I wrote "on other chargers"... in Portugal, unfortunately, most chargers other than Tesla have a cost by time added to a cost by KWh, which makes charging very expensive. And of course in those, the slower they charge your car the more it costs you.

@@LICHINHO ah sorry! Yes I misread 😅 the other chargers in Portugal are ridiculous. I recently paid €0.79/kWh after all fees etc (in my next video, launching today)

Welcome to Porto, My Chinese wife and I (Bangladeshi) are also new immigrant like you. Porto has lots of rain during winter but summer is so nice and full of people. People are also so nicer here up in north. Also now you will be close to Braga beautiful mountains but also Aveiro and Coimbra (Awesome Cities).

I can't believe these Auto pilot strikes. I would feel being treated as a child. especially if it wasn't the driver's fault. we all know including Tesla that the auto pilot is not flawless by any imagination.

I have been driving often in autopilot, for the almost two years that I've owned the car (Model Y LR). I have zero strikes. You do have to pay attention to the road, it's the rules.

Answering your question why people in Portugal not using autopilot. I believe most of the people drive in the city most of the time and use highway occasionally. So it doesn’t make much sense to pay 99eur for several trips during each week. At least this is my experience and experience of people around me. And it is cool to drive Tesla by yourself instead of just watching:)

LFP batterys want to be charged up to 100, wich is this case because he owns a model 3 STANDARD, do you understand?
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 4 месяца назад
Great question Pierre - yes it's as +Joao says - since I was charging mostly at superchargers, I wanted to make sure my battery calibrates properly each time and on the Standard Range model, they have the LFP batteries which work better if you charge them to 100%. In terms of practicality, yes I could save probably 15-20mins per stop if I just charged to 80-90%. Thanks for watching :)
@pierreguerinborgia2447
@pierreguerinborgia2447 4 месяца назад
Thanks for your answer! I will get my standard this coming Wednesday, therefore my question:) I know the LFP battery is suggested to charge up to 100% once a week. But that doesn’t mean it should charge up to 100% all the time right.

Hi, love your video, owning à TM3H in france im planning going to portugal with it, I noticed that with a shellrecharge pass, you can charge you car à 0,07cts/min, meaning you can do a 10-80% in 30/35 min and less than 3€. do have any experience with it? it could be cheaper than the supercharger network. thanks
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 4 месяца назад
Hi! Thank you for watching. I haven’t looked into that, but I highly doubt it’ll be cheaper than the Tesla superchargers. Is it ONLY 7c/min or are there other fees? Usually, from my experience, there’s a connection fee, then a kWh fee and then a per min fee. I’d be very surprised if it was only the per min fee. Also you’re assuming the chargers are 150kW chargers to achieve that sort of charge, a lot of them are 50kW so it’ll take much longer
@Reis05
@Reis05 4 месяца назад
That is not correct, that is just what Shell charge you, in Portugal you still need to pay all the other taxes attached to Mobi.E like opc taxe etc. But if you really need to use the mobi e network shell is indeed a little cheaper then all other cards in Portugal i believe. But you can't order one shell card if you leave in Portugal, you need to ordered it leaving abroad.

I find also he has allways high consumtion, I have a M3 highland SR but with the Photons, I have on highway trips 120km/hr a 134wh/km average consumption (chill mode and normal driving)
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 4 месяца назад
Hi! I think Gizmo is referring to the rated range displayed on the screen… so this estimate is based on the EPA range, not the WLTP range. It is definitely possible to get above 450km per charge on the SR if you drive on chill and not on the highway. Regarding Rsca’s comment, I wonder if the photos have a huge benefit especially for highway due to aerodynamic drag increasing at higher speeds 🤔

Is full autopilot actually necessary for this stop and go kinda traffic or would the basic feature be sufficient? My understanding was that in Europe only lane switching is part of the paid featureset right now, could you share some insight on this? Thinking about whether or not I should spend extra and get full autopilot
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 4 месяца назад
Great question. I wouldn't get the Enhanced Autopilot or FSD in Europe - you're right - it's basically lane changing (which isn't even automatic - you need to nudge the wheel) and a few other features that are always "coming soon" - autopark, summon etc. I think the bumper-to-bumper traffic performance of regular AP would be the same. I would've recommend that you use my referral code to get free 3-months to try enhanced, but they stopped the referral program now :(
