Wolfcat Wildcat they have 3 segments that expend, then contract to release the coil. There has been times when a coil was produced without expanding the segments first. Some lines are able to reverse the steel back, when that isn’t an option, the whole mandrel could be removed. With today’s interlocks it would be rare.
