Hey people, if you wanna by from a breeder. Fine, rescuing isn’t for everyone. But please for the love of god vet the fuck out of a breeder before you buy from them. This is an industry packed to the gills with unethical practices. For every one good breeder there are 15 glorified puppy-millers. I don’t care how much you want a certain breed. If you’re buying from a breeder you better vet them like you’re working for the CIA.
Last "pure bred" dog I got (golden retriever) lived 8y less than my lab mutt, grew giant skin boils, & we paid $1000 for the privilege. *_Never Again!_* _also believing in "pure breeding" at all makes you a little bit fascist & H1tl3r-y_ _...so stop that?_

thank you so much for making this. I’m a vet tech and the amount of poor inbred bullies and frenchies that we get is wild. These poor animals have terrible quality of life and numerous health problems.
I've literally seen bracycephalic animals almost die bc ppl just dumped them at a shelter after mama died. And not every shelter knows how to tube feed but THAT IS LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY TO SAFELY FEED THEM. Again: these dogs WILL die if you do not have proper training to feed them. Many of them will before making it to a person skilled enough to feed them. And that has to be done as often as feeding a normal puppy- so you have to tube feed this poor creature every 2-4 hours for the first SIX WEEKS of life. The akc is literally enabling this bs with "breed guidelines". Do breeds serve a purpose? Some do, if say one is getting a working dog. But the vast majority of ppl are getting a pet for companionship, and there are plenty of animals in shelters *bc of breeders like these*.
As someone who is the stepchild of a very responsible basset hound breeder, it makes me so upset seeing people overbreed smooshed faced dogs. I will say it is completely valid not to like dog breeding, im fine as long as it is done extremely ethically. She has a litter maybe once a year or every other. I myself own a rescue dog. But frenchies and bully breeds already have hella health issues... this is just making it worse... i dont support smooshed faced breeds at all, cats or dogs. They have much shorter life spans... also what i was always told is this is how you can tell a good breeder from a bad, good breeders barely make any money on their dogs, those who make money are more likely bad. Edit: also I will say most breeders rehome their breeding dogs to pet homes after they are done being shown/Bred. My stepmom breeds her dogs 2-3 times over about 6 years. But she is very very picky who she rehomes her dogs too. Also if people ever don't want one of her dogs anymore, she will 1000% take them back no matter what.
I hated hearing my boyfriend talk about how all of his boxers were healthy, even though I could hear them wheezing when I visited. They all had smooshed faces and I hated hearing the poor guys wheeze while his family talked about how happy and healthy they all were. It doesn't help that his mom was also a borderline animal hoarder and no one in the house gave the animals the affection and attention they needed- when I was there, all but one of the dogs practically attached themselves to me because I would give them attention and pet them whenever I could (there were probably two dozen guinea pigs that I never interacted with because their reactions would have just made me sadder, as well as two cats- all on top of four dogs). Not a fan of breeding dogs or cats for these idiotic looks that aren't cute and almost always severely affect their quality of life. Also, not everyone should have pets- both the breeders and people who hoard or only want them for looks.

I think that's the difference I see in my stepmom too, her dogs are very energetic and loving, also she only has 9 dogs, three aren't for breeding they are just show dogs/pets. One was bred but now she is spayed and a bed hog lol. I think yeah, just like some people shouldn't be parents to children, they shouldn't be to four legged furbabies either. I'm glad you give the dogs the love they need while you're around.
I agree with you 100%. These breeders are awful and these people are pathetic. I have never and will never buy a dog. All my dogs have been rescued from shelters. There are so many good dogs at shelters that need homes.
Honestly, I’m the opposite I worked at a shelter, and most of the dogs were bully breeds, and had behavior problems and personalities that either just wouldn’t work with me (I like taking my dogs to the dog park and not worrying about my dog trying to charge or attack people or other animals) or are simply too dangerous. I was nearly attacked by one. Personally, I’d only ever adopt a shelter dog if I KNOW the dog well and ISNT a bully breed. The problem is 90% of shelter dogs are bullies. And I don’t want a bully. Too risky for my taste.
Thank you for making this video! It pisses me off to no end to see these people who say that they breed dogs on the side or raise puppies as a side hustle! We literally have millions of animals being killed in shelters every year and as far as I'm concerned dog & cat breeding should be illegal until our shelters are empty! If you have a working breed dog that's a different story it's a working dog it's not a pet. But these people who like to make money by breeding dogs sicken me.
I really want to go to a shelter one day and ask for the dog they’ve had there the longest and adopting him/her. I don’t care if it’s an elder, I don’t care if they’re missing limbs, I don’t care if they aren’t going to live for much longer. I want them. They deserve to be as loved as any dog. ❤
We ended up with our pug because someone in front of the store was selling them my nephew and wife who had just had a baby themselves fell in love with the pup, the guy was asking 500$ for it, nephew said I only have 200, then asked why are you selling it, well we are going on Christmas vacation and I need them gone, 😮how old is he 5 weeks, 😮😮, so he bought him to get him away from the guy because he was afraid of what would happen to the pup had he not bought him. Next we know we have a pug, 5 weeks old not one shot but also to young for shots, to young to be away from momma on top of that. So ppl do not deserve to have animals and this guy is definitely one of them ppl. So I agree these ppl should never be aloud to have animals they are puppy farms and they give real caring breader a really really bad name. It’s sad. Really sad.
I unfortunately had the displeasure of coming across one of dog gang shop’s lives and he was bragging about breeding dad to daughter all while touching his dog inappropriately with thousands of ppl watching and giving him gifts🤢
Short nosed dogs can also live a long time if they're well bred amd cared for. I lost my puggle at 15 yrs and my bug (half bostie/half pug) is still going strong at 16.5!

The older I get and the more I learn about animal intelligence (& humans lack thereof) I'm gonna be radical. We need Pet Permits. No permit? Pet gets taken away. And if you want to breed, that's an extra layer of permit that requires a knowledge test and husbandry requirements. Not just money. Just like casinos & bars, owning a pet is a *_privilege,_* not a right. Therefore we can legally put as many restrictions on owning and/or breeding animals as we want. And we should. I don’t agree with hating on breeders in general because ethical breeders do exist and without them we would have standard purebred dogs ethical breeders keep the breed pure they also health test there dogs and Temperament test them they also don’t allow there dogs to end up in shelters because they make u sign a contract saying you’ll return the dog and they also microchip it so even if u take it the shelter the shelter will just scan the dog and give it back to the breeder ethical breeders breed for show dogs and working dogs unlike a unethical breeder aka a byb who breeds for looks and money so no I don’t hate breeders if there ethical but I do understand hating TikTok live breeders because they are almost always a byb
First of all 01:29, Silence! Im platonically calling you handsome Second of all, there is nothing wrong with enjoying a certain breed of a dog, or partaking in breeding with a purpose. There are plenty of historical breeds of dogs in plenty of countries that have certain skillsets, that have long recorded lineages in order to prevent inbreeding. These skillsets are in fact still in use today! Such as hunting, sheep herding, guard dogs, therapy dogs, sight seeing dogs ec. I'm in-fact personally interested in the a historical breed of dog in my country, in short translated as "house dogs" to english. A beautiful and very intelligent breed of dogs that worked both as hunting dogs, guard dogs and companion dogs historically! HOWEVER! This does not include irresponsible breeding that only breed for aesthetics and nothing more. It is incredibly irresponsible, its sickening, unethical and detrimental to the dogs quality of life! Just because the dog looks "tough", doesn't mean anything when it cant even run across the room! Besides, just because a dog is bred to be a guard dog, doesn't mean it actually can be when you dont train it! These kinds of things frustrate me so much, no animal should live like this. Not only that, but these so called "breeders" only end up giving actual breeders interested in keeping a dog breed healthy a bad name!
You joke, but there's literally a 'breed' called 'toad bullies.' They're the short ones in the video with their legs stuck out at the sides, and frankly they look deformed to me. I can't fathom how people find them cute or tough. I wish there was some kind of strict licensing for breeding. 😞
Eh I wouldn’t buy a purebred dog through tik tok. I want a Pomeranian. I’ll gladly adopt a dog from a shelter. But there is nothing wrong wanting a purebred dog, just know what you’re getting into.
