My friend , Billy , whose dogs they were , was a loving , good owner . The reason mom wont let him is because males can kill the pupps, females wouldn't access the fathers as threats naturally...unless they are likely to be. Unfortunately, clearly the males set themselves up for this treatment.

So as long as they've received even minimal training, most momma dogs aren't gonna bite at their owners unless they are particularly aggressive. Also, it's well known that if you are present when an animal (generally a mammal) gives birth to offspring, which is usually a very strenuous and stressful event, it increases your bond with them greatly, because you have provided support and comfort during a very hard time, especially cause their brain chemistry is in momma mode so they are particularly susceptible to bonding.
