Whenever I am able & allowed to help a living being, it gives me the greatest joy and satisfaction. Life doesn’t make any sense if you don‘t care about others.

Wow, I am really overwhelmed by all your supportive feedbacks, friendly words and warm wishes. I do thank you for that in appreciation and joy. I wish you a new year that is full with beautiful moments so that one day in the future you want to look back on them with a smile on your face. (Hope you could understand me, not an English native speaker here)
I love how he praised his pup, listened to what she was trying to tell him, and encouraged the little dolphin to keep going. ❤ we need more of this respect and love in the world.
@@nycot107 that’s extremely rude!! My dogs don’t talk but I know when they act differently they are telling me something. Don’t always need words to understand something! Have some compassion!!!!
People routinely go out of their way to rescue all kinds of animals, even ones that can kill them, because of their compassion. In fact, humans and dogs hang out together because humans took pity on the scavengers that hung around their encampment and brought them into their tribe. Human beings are the most compassionate of all the animals on the planet. I think people tend to have a negative view of how humans are because of how some people act, but there are some human beings that will risk death to help another living creature without a thought for their own safety. If anything, I believe dogs learned that loyal compassion from us. A wild dog would have just eaten that dolphin.
Well to be fair, "less filming" was what you got already. I mean almost the entire video the camera pointing at nothing, I couldn't even bother watching.
I wished he would have called a rescue place because the baby dolphin needs nourishment that he may not be able to get on his own depending on the type of dolphin he or she may be.
I was thinking the same thing, but then weighing the possibility that it just gets taken by some asshole who uses it to make money in a zoo or something
Hello everyone who reads the comments! I worked at marine animal hospital and I want to share with you some information. Though it is awesome to try and help a stranded animal and push it back into the water.. this can be a death sentence. A healthy animal won’t get stuck on the beach, they’ll stand themselves as a last resort to stay alive. If you ever see a marine mammal dead or alive on a beach you’re visiting please call your local fish and wildlife or 911 and they’ll dispatch them. The rescuers can diagnose the animal and decide the right course. The best thing you can do for the animal is keep them moist and out of the sun. Grab a shirt or a towel and lie it over their back, but keep it away from the blow hole (the one they use to breathe). I know it’s instinct to push it back but when you do so this animal might not get found by someone until it’s too late. If you read this thank you for your time and have a happy new year. Also, I’m pretty sure this was a porpoise, not a baby dolphin. However it’s a bit fuzzy in the video but I’m 90% sure it’s a porpoise. I commend this person trying to help but they should’ve called their marine rescue.
That's exactly what I posted. I commend the dog, and the owner's good intentions, but there's no way to know if that baby porpoise's mother was there waiting for it or not. Besides, it was exhausted. The best thing to do is to contact a wildlife rescue organization to come get it, and in the mean time, do exactly as you said. Cover it (but not the blowhole) and keep it wet until help arrives.
Thank you very much for the invaluable information. Without having read your comment, I would’ve remained ignorant to the proper thing to do, simply believing that it was accidentally stranded. I will pass your teachings along to anyone who will listen. I am a lover of animals and believe that they deserve the rights to survive just as much as we do. We all have a purpose here, and the ecosystem is already thrown off by poachers etc. I will never be able to thank you enough for that small but HUGE IMPACTING bit of very important knowledge that you have shared. Again, THANK YOU for taking time out to share your knowledge with those of us willing to listen.🙏🏽👏🏽🤗💝
He’s probably caught it beach casting the dog probably wondering why he walked away only to return with his phone in his hand. I’ve seen the same with a la plata unfortunately they passed it around and it died possibly from heat stroke.
What a fantastic dog & owner. Such a kind gesture. Really appreciate people & animals like this! Also liked that he called Leila a "good girl" after she alerted him. Thank you both for what you did. At least the dolphin now has some chance of survival, especially if momma is nearby, as opposed to slowly dying on the shoreline. Bravo. Good job. ❤👏👍
God bless you and your beautiful companion for saving a precious life in need of help!❤. It’s such an awesome thing to see others doing the same things that I would do, even though friends , loved ones anstrangers say that I’m crazy. If I/we are crazy, it’s the best group of people in the world that I am thrilled to be associated with. Kudos to you my friend, and thank you for loving those who do not walk straight up on 2 legs.🙏🏽💝

That's not a dolphin; that's a harbour porpoise. A couple of key identifying features: 1. Harbour porpoises have a triangular shaped back fin; a dolphin has a curved shaped back fin; 2. Dolphins have a pronounced, elongated beak; a harbour porpoise has a smaller mouth with a blunt nose; 3. Dolphins have cone shaped teeth; a harbour porpoise has spade shaped teeth; 4. Dolphins tend to be very lean and slim; a harbour porpoise tends to be more portly and fatter; 5. Dolphins are pretty gregarious, often like to approach humans and live in groups; a harbour porpoise tends to be much more shy, are pretty elusive to spot, and live on their own; 6. Dolphins tend to be very acrobatic; a harbour porpoise isn't; 7. Dolphins tend to be much bigger than harbour porpoises; 8. Dolphins are very talkative and make a lot of noise; a harbour porpoise tends to be much more quiet
Leia definitely deserves extra treats for alerting you too the dolphin's distressing situation!! Thank you also for making sure the baby dolphin made it out to sea❤❤❤❤❤❤ glad that there are people and dogs like you and Leia in the world ❤❤❤
Good job to the dog finding the dolphin and alerting his human for help. I think as humans most of us would have helped this baby out or at least I would hope so. I hope the baby dolphin found his family especially his worried mother.
I love what your and your dog did. This is so beautiful and important. Yes it's one little being but just look what you did. God bless you and your dog.
They tend to stick to a small territory, so, the chances are good the baby will be found if the baby was not too exhausted from trying to get back beyond the surf line. We had a pod of porpoises off Dewey Beach, Delaware who stayed within three miles of our beach all Summer. They were all named after the characters from the Flintstone's cartoons.
“While keeping the body as submerged as possible” - I just wonna point out that this is a mammal and not a fish. It breaths air and don’t have gills, so keeping it submerged in a situation like this could potentially drown the poor thing. If possible, the best solution would have been to pick it up and walk a few meters with it ❤ Overall nicely handled however ❤
That's such a baby, that I think he should have been taken to a veterinarian for care. Remember, dolphins are mammals who breathe air, and whose babies need milk. You're probably not rescuing them, if you simply dump them back in the sea. Separation from his mother means certain death for the dolphin calf, unless humans care for him, and feed him milk. He cannot survive on his own, he is not a fish.
Lovely act of love by an animal!!! Wow i disl ike very much when people use the phrase, "it's just an animal". Look at how smart these creatures are!!! 💞💖💜💝
That was a nail biter, I so grateful you stuck with this precious little dolphin to make sure it was able to return to the deeper waters. Your act of kindness in this time of great need will keep you bound to the dolphin forever, you are sure to see each other again. Thank you for saving its life❤️
Sadly, this animal will likely die. There was a chance to save it. Call 9II and ask them to notify the proper authorities. They will send experts who can properly deal with it. In my coastal city, there’s a stranding team. Keep the sea creature wet and shaded until help arrives. They can tell if a creature is sick or needs to be helped in a tank until it’s ready and healthy enough for a safe release. Expert professional can assess it, treat it and provide appropriate care.
This is very sweet and I commend this dog and owner for wanting to help, but this baby dolphin would never survive without it's mother, or a rescue organization. The right thing to do in this circumstance is to call a local wildlife rescue to come and get the baby dolphin. Alone in the water, it's just orca food. And I'm very sorry for that.
Thank you for trying to save that little fella. But couldn't you have picked it up and walked it out to deeper water rather than allowing it to get further exhausted? Good little dog that alerted you! Hope he/she gets a good treat when it gets home!!
Now if mankind can only - - - "Learn" to be this helpful to fellow humans we might we worthy of being on this planet. Well done to this man and his dog~! Shalom
I love dogs so so much. Though trying to save the baby dolphin is admirable, it was too young to survive without its mother, so I hope they can reunite.
I love Dolphins a lot . My father 😢in law told story, how in world 🌎 war 2 Japanese throw in the ocean , and many dolphins help them hold dolphins tail in and brought them back to American shores. ( I always wondered how dolphins know what’s one is American shore . ) these good animal deserve to live long life. Love ❤️ and Kindness is more important in tha life than self centers .
