Anneka meets the rescue dogs saved from the South Korean Dog Meat Trade with Pete Wicks from The Only Way is Essex and a special appearance from Simon Cowell and Vet on the Hill, Dr Scott Miller.
Humane Society International closes its 10th dog meat farm and 170 dogs are saved from being eaten. 13 dogs touch down on UK soil and the rest fly to the USA and Canada.

What a great Org.!!! I love that they are teaching these people how to move on to more productive jobs. If you just paid them to take the dogs away to good homes, they would just get MORE dogs to make money! Instead they are learning a new way of life that doesn't include this outdated tradition.It is very impressive! And so commend them for all of their efforts.

Jessie Thomas That's just stupid talk. Here in the West we have been raised with dogs as pets. For them...this is the same as eating chicken. You DON'T get anywhere by just killing a few people because you DON'T agree with their way of life! You do get things to change by showing them a BETTER way of life for ALL involved! This is sadly much more common than many know in As8an countries.

When Vegans rescue pigs are they heroes the same way ? Dogs and pigs both have fear and a desire to live they both love and feel happiness. Many Americans see dog savers are heroes but go and buy cows and pigs that go through very similar things to those dogs. Just something to think about.

Ok, I will be honest here, I was bawling like a baby, at first because of the way they were treated, but then because they were all safe and would be going to homes that they will hopefully never have to experience any mistreatment ever again. I would have loved to adopt one of these wonderful dogs, but I sadly don’t have the money or the space to adequately take care of them. Much love for all that you do Anneka ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Truly heartwarming but also saddening stuff if only everyone involved in the trade could be sent to prison for a very long time then maybe they would think twice before exploiting these poor defenseless creatures for mere profit. In other news I'm contacting a local dog shelter on Monday and if all goes well plan to volunteer their for as long as I'm allowed too, be nice to get out and do something worthwhile for a change. Cant wait to see more life changing stuff from you Anneka you are truly a one of a kind human being.

I think we should lock the people in a cage and watch them live in piles of their own shit for a few years without ever leaving their cage and then hang those fuckers. I would help put the ropes up or light them or fire whatever. This is why I cant stand humans but I ove for animals.

Dog's are so much more than just cute. They have a bond with people that is totally different from other animals. They were never meant to be food. NEVER. Animals like chicken and fish has always been a natural food source given to us by nature.

@Simon a dogs relationship with humans evolved over thousand of years. Research has been done and mri scans have been done proving this relationship is unlike any other. It doesn't matter who is more clever. It is the connection that is important. What animal would wait 10 years for their owner to return until it's dying day, only a dog look at the story of Hachiko. The proof is there. Dogs are beyond animals they are angels.

Mr. Snakey just do a bit of research. There is thousands of examples of dogs that would die for their owners. This bond that dogs have with humans is genetic and has been proven with mri scans and studies. And yes there is many reasons that make dogs more amazing than any other animal including humans and I'm not afraid to say it.

If you only get a dog for protection alone then you a idiot and shouldn't own a dog. Dogs are amazing animals and they give unconditional love to humans. My dog was actually from a meat farm and she suffered so much she has cancer and I hope she will win the battle. I went to Korea and found a dog wandering around then a man came and grabbed her by the neck, so I shouted let go of my dog and he put that beautiful baby puppy down so I took the dog to my apartment and took care of it and I went back to the U. K and now the doggo has a new forever home.

Same for other animals, cows, pigs, chickens. They are just the same…sentient beings. A cow knows what’s happening when they can hear other cows screaming from torture just so they can be meat in someone’s filthy burger. They are family-oriented and loving just like a dog.

I hate to say it, but, without us farming them livestock would all die out, they require vast amounts of space, special food and time that alot of people don't have/can't provide, they make awful pets for most people so that's not an option for them, dogs have been bred to be companions and to have a connection with people that is unique to dogs alone (cats domesticated themselves), I'm not against eating meat, instead of trying to make people stop eating livestock meat, instead fight for better conditions and humane quick dispatch for them, the difference here is that livestock has been bred since the dawn of time for meat, dog's for companions, it's like comparing apples and oranges

This trade became illegal in Korea back in the 90's when I was station there. I'm sad it has lasted this long I suppose it is hard to change minds most young people in Korea would never consider a dog food.

I personally don't moralize over what animals a person chooses to eat but the way those dogs were being kept and the way they had been treated is just appalling. Caeric In the USA pigs are castrated with no painkillers beat forced into tiny cages hung upside down and have their throats slight while they bleed out in pain and terrors. If we don’t have to eat animals and can live off of plants then it is unnecessary to kill them them.

Thank you to all involved in saving dogs from this horrific trade. How anyone could even consider eating a dog is beyond understanding. These creatures are a huge part of our success as a species right from the moment they decided to approach the first group of people around a fire and opened our up our own story of evolution. They hunted with us, provided us with warmth, and companionship right from the very beginning. We owe it to them to always keep them by our side and NOT on our plates !

I am overwhelmed my heart is so happy my spirit is thanking God for these wonderful caring people that went and took the dogs . Thank you Mr. Simon and Mr. Pete for being behind the rescuers. I have a small room and I have a beautiful dog he’s half Jack Russell and a Boston terrier and that’s my heart I take care of him better than I do myself that’s my family my doggie. Take a shot every time you see someone complaining that "Why aren't you talking about all the farm animals that are slaughtered!?" This is a video about saving animals that were being kept in cruel conditions and being killed inhumanely. That's why they were being rescued. I agree that all animals matter, but please just enjoy the message of the video.

Gerrit Faber agree.Thats why i hate America.i want to burn down all the slaughter houses , kfc,mcdonalds, burger kings, steak houses, fish n chip shops ,puppy mills etc etc etc

Well the USA would be judged quite poorly then we castrate pigs with no painkillers pull of their tails force them into tiny cages where they can’t turn around we beat them and ultimately slaughter them in a very violent death usually slitting of the throat while they bleed out in fear. Pigs and cows and chickens deserve love the same way dogs do.
