I have a 1 month old puppy pit bull and I just got it the person told me that it has gotten its shots and the next time would be in 6 weeks but we were on the road 2 days ago and I didn’t have food with me so I gave it 3 pcs chicken McNuggets and two days later it started have blood in poop I hope it’s not because of that cause I normally give my puppy pedigree with dog food. Hello! Ma doggie, 2 years old, started having this issue 2 days ago, however her condition didn't change. She is still active and has appetite, but her stool scares me every time as it is jelly like, with almost no food, and some strings of fresh blood, indicating that it is in her lower intestine. We are collecting her poop and will go to the vet in 2 days. I will start incorporating some of these and see what is changing! Thank you for your infos

I usually feed raw, meat, liver, kidneys, bone, eggs etc when they are fine. Now that they are both pooping mucus with blood I'm giving them some rice (not rinsed), mixed with turmeric, cooked chicken, cooked pork, egg, coconut oil and probiotics from capsules (bio kult) & kefir. Seeing the vet in 48hours.

Thank you so much. What about when it’s black hard stools? No diarrhea not jelly presents I took my 5 month old golden retriever puppy to the vet they did blood work came back that he didn’t have low blood count so maybe something was healing. But for the past week he is having this black hard stool off & on first 3 days he was extremely lethargic sleeping all day, he’s more active now but still not himself still sleeping and whining like you said and sometimes his poop is Normal color and later in the evening it is black &hard. Any suggestions would be great. I will note that I caught him a few days earlier chewing on the side of the wooden ladder so not sure if he got a piece of splinter in his stomach.

I am so sorry to hear about this!! Of course if your puppy has been eating things he shouldnt have it could have caused some blood in the digestive tract which explains the dark stools. If he seem to be getting better, try adding some probiotics to his food to help get his system back in shape, also, if there are any other symptoms that pop up or he gets worse, it's best to have him checked again just in case.

My dog is not having a bloody diarrhea but when I switched her from pork and beef to duck same brand of dog food, small batch, freeze dried raw, Her poops this morning were solid and multicolor. It started off normal, but then it ended with a reddish tinge. So it was more of a reddish brown than straight brown. And she pooped multiple times three times to be precise, and one time it looked like more of the poop was reddish brown than not, but it still was not a diarrhea or mucousy a normal firm poop just reddish. she has been on freeze dried raw for years now, so I know it’s not moving her to raw that caused it. I was wondering if changing the proteins could’ve done it cause she’s never had duck before.

Hi there, thank you for leaving your comment! For sure when switching to new proteins or recipe that your dog has never had before it can cause their digestive tract to unsettle. This should settle in a few days. But next time, when you want to introduce something new, try doing it gradually so her system has a chance to adapt to it. OF course if her symptoms persist more than a few days or worsen, then I would have her checked to be sure nothing else is going on.

It might be caused by the same problem, such as ingesting something it shouldn't have. I just went through this today with my 1 year old German Shepherd. Scary as heck seeing all that blood. Not a chance I'd treat at home. She's had 4 bags of fluids & a bunch of meds to get it under control. They also did a barium study to rule out a FB.

Metronidazole is horrible. You might see results but what it does to them long term including the biome is terrible. Plenty of research on it. Sarcomyces boulardii is a way better option.

They tell you lots aren’t good for dogs and they actually are good for them. Have to find the right vet. Dr. Karen Becker is also good to follow as well as this vet right here.

This can be safe if using caffeine-free peppermint tea and only in small quantities. Giving too much can cause stomach upsets which we don't want.

Not all dogs that have loose stools will stop eating so the recommendations are valid when there is still appetite, or can be added to treats that help open the appetite more to get them the help they need. If the dog does not want to eat or drink at all, then the situation could be more serious and should be checked by a vet.

This morning, i fed my dog fried banana, he was totally fine then he started vomiting later the afternoon then started constantly pooping, i noticed that there's a bit blood pn his poop. I'm so stressed out 😔😔😔😔

I am so sorry to hear this! Fried foods are never recommended for dogs as they are very high in fat. Also, some dogs have a very sensitive digestion, so new foods can cause them to have strong reactions. You can use the tips in this video to help calm the symptoms, but if the symptoms persist more than a day or 2 I would recommend having him checked by the vet. I hope he feels better soon!
