2024 and we still searching for a shred of that magic heard in the background of the studio Edit: Every 3-4yrs this clip pops up in my head and I check back to relive what could have been
@ 9:10 it is great to see how a living legend like Big Snoop Dogg can give Jay-Z such an incredible compliment for coming in writing something classic & legendary when no one else could. Jay worked & earned his place even among other great heavyweights, dope!
Interpretation: The beat was dope and Jay-Z wrote the lyrics that went perfectly with the track so Snoop spit the lyrics that Jay wrote and a classic was born.
It should be illegal to have this many Legends in one room lol to hear DJ Quik get into specifics and specs on his equipment will always be pure gold to me because this man really knows his shit you can see for a minute he geeked out
How funny ?! I watched this video years ago before i did half of what i did when i couldn't understand half of it ! Now i'm enjoying the replay like i'm on top ! 👍🏽👍🏽

I aint from Cali, but real recognizes da "REAL" all the west coast legend minds in 1 room to make Snoop win @ the end of the da day! #ThatsLoveRightThere!
I met dj pooh at a car wash in Encino on Ventura way back in 95. I walked up to him and said I saw you in cubes video. He gave me a pound and walked away. Cool dude.
This video is dated 2011. Still Dre came out in 1999. It was great for its time. But lets be realistic: It was simple af to create. Bass, strings, and keys are a few notes. Scott Storch didnt do much. Snoop should've shut tf up and let them come up with some 2011 s&^^. They got Larrance Dopson of 1500, Battlecat, DJ Pooh, Quik and his team of producers, etc. They wouldve outdone some 1999 bs.
I agree and disagree with you at the same time, as simple as that beat may sound, it isn't that simple to come up with and be made a classic. I t does take a disciplined producer to know how far to go and how simple or complex to make that sound. On the other note, I agree that Snoop need to shut up, cause battlecat sounded like he was coming up with something and Snoop just ruined it.
the beat at 5:50 is the sickest beat i've heard since dr dre 2001! and i got all their shit..... that track is west coast to the fullest!!!! detox worthy more than all of all the others!!!
Snoop is the example of motivation and dedication. I have to motivate myself, becuase I don't have any cold ass rappers. I mean, that can even ride the rythme, I mean, it's not just talking to music, It's rapper. You have to love what you do, to really do it. Monotone is not the new stereo, it's mono.
