OMG.. his description of the moment it's eyes found him literally made me shiver.. I have 10" ceilings in my home and was sitting here trying to picture the sheer size of this creature.. I was horrified picturing it standing in my living room with its gigantic head brushing the ceiling.. Good. Lord. 😱 absolutely horrific. Thank you so much for sharing, sir. Great title too, Jeff.. it was ABSOLUTELY a heart stopping encounter and this man told his story beautifully.

How close was this thing when it was at the tree? Did he actually see it again when he said it went up above him and he smelled it? He indicated that there are signs or prints around his house now...

This is a life changing event for sure. I can believe that no matter how many werewolf movies and pictures you've seen or no matter how wild your imagination is NOTHING could prepare you for the real life sight of one of these beasts. Good God. Over 9 ft tall. Which i believe would make it much heavier than 400-500 lbs. Robert Wadlow was the tallest human ever documented and he was 430-440 lbs and he was thin. So this thing was likley much heavier

So he was in his stand at 4:00 am. Damn that means he was up in the middle of the night getting ready to hunt. Most hunters will get up at 4:00 or 4:30 a.m. to hunt because being in the stand at 4:00 means you’re going to be sitting a long time before daybreak. And at 4:00 a.m. it’s pitch black out unless the moon is shining and even then if you’re hunting in and amongst an area with trees, the illumination is not as bright with the overhead canopy. I would like to know how he was able to get so much detail of a creature while it was dark out and then he was so scared he stayed in his stand til noon that day. Ok if that’s the case, why then look for and at the tracks of the creature instead of hauling ass back to the truck and he left his bow. I would have at least made haste without looking for tracks with an arrow notched in my bow and on high alert. He described this thing at being nearly ten feet tall. Doubtful they are over 8 feet. Sounds like a tall tale or one that has been greatly exaggerated.
