I just can't be mad at dogs who steal food. One easy "trick" to reduce the chance for that significantly: feed them first / at the same time and eat at the table instead of on the couch. Works great with our dog. And she (usually) doesn't beg. As she knows she'll get something from the leftovers as well when we're done. Just make sure it's not too much all together. That was a bit more difficult to figure out.

There are MANY reasons to bring a dog into your life.... But the humor alone justifies having a doggo around. My last dog, a Golden, had an actual sense of humor. I swear. If he was doing something silly and realized people were laughing at him, then he'd really ham it up. Down, depressed? He'd comfort you, then start goofing off to get a laugh from you. No, this dog was not a 'pet'. He was a genuine friend and adopted family member. He was a buddy. And he happens to have a sense a humor

My Springer would steal food right out of your mouth. On her last day before we had to put her down because of cancer I took her to McDonald’s. She sat in the passenger seat like she was a human and made the workers laugh. We went to the park and I got her food out and she downed it, then jumped and grabbed my burger right out of my mouth. I was hungry so I wrestled her over the other half. Great day.
