I had a Maltese for twelve years before she passed away. She was a complete diva and loved cuddling. If she didn't want to cuddle though, she'll bite you. She was basically a sass master. She was also my best friend.

My Maltese was my whole life; she passed away in 2016 at 19 years of age. I honestly dream of her almost every night since. Please love your Maltese (or any other dog) unconditionally and with all your being. They love you that way.
we trim our Maltese during the summer since she doesn't like getting brushed so I always give her a puppy cut with a slightly longer facial hair than body and it's so much more manageable and adorable than longer hair.
What made me so emotional the most was how happy and energetic she was despite her disability which reflects the innocence and the pureness of dogs :')
I have a maltese who recently turned one. His name is marshmellow, he is adored by everyone! So intelligent, and literally potty trained in a month! Always playful, always happy, and he so loving. Especially because my daughter has autism. I agree with the guy in the video. There is just something so special about a Maltese that's unlike any other dog. Every time I walk him people stop me to share their own maltese stories, or to pet him. He loves children always gets very excited, and he makes a great alert dog. 😊

IF you want an affectionate dog then it's the Maltese. I have had one of the best dogs that was such a companion that any human could ask for. He will NEVER be replaced. I miss you, buddy!
I got a maltese and my husband hated her. She is currently 5 weeks pregnant, today he built a whelping box with a clear see through door so she could still see us. He loves his ‘little girl’ to bits now. The box has soft vinyl flooring and sides. It’s gorgeous. My husband says he’s never met a dog that gives so much love. ❤️. He also wants to keep a puppy.
My family currently owns its second Maltese and they're extremely energetic and friendly dogs. I like that they don't leave hair everywhere nor the traditional dog smell on your hands after petting them.

Maltese are such great dogs. My family has two, my older one at 12 and the other one almost 2. Both of them are just adorable, yet their personalities are very different. I love my dogs so much.
Oh my GOSH! this is the best story. I have a maltese, she was born on Christmas Day 9years ago.Hope Noel!!!!! 14 days after I was diagnosised with Stage3C ovarian cancer. I had a 5% chance to live, after 10.5 hours of surgery and a round of chemo.... I had a dream I dreamt of Hope. I was walking her down the street and calling her Hope. When I came home from the hospital My husband got little Hope for me. She was 2.3lbs when we brought her home. What a blessing she has been to us all. PTL

When my sister bought a dog for my family, i was first a little disappointed when she picked a maltese. But now i absolutely love these dogs. We now have 2...and I swear...they are just the best dogs in the world.

My mama got one when I was in highschool. I loved him to death and he was my homeboy but she spoiled the hell out of him. He even bit me so I had to whoop his ass a couple of times.

We have one & it's all true. Beautiful, smart, loyal, loving & also brave. Our little guy will go up & down steep, open stairs, climb & walk on huge logs, climb big rocks just to see what the world looks like from up there, he's not afraid of anything so I have to watch close & make sure he doesn't get hurt but he's wonderful. Had him for almost 10 yrs. & he means the world to me. He's also very possessive & jealous if I admire another dog. We rescued a white toy poodle but Bailey's so jealous & unhappy about it I'll have to find another home for my little poodle.
I had two Maltese toy poodle mixes (maltipoos) growing up. I love those dogs. Maggie was the biggest attention dog I have ever known. Zoe was more independent but she grew to love her cuddles.
This is a really great clip. What a champion Hope is. We have a born blind Maltese named Josie. She has been a revelation in our lives. At birth the vet also wanted to put her down but she was taken home and has become a little celebrity at coffee shops and markets. These are the bet dogs ever. My maltese Chloe is 12 years old and still has the playful spirit. I'd recommend malteses for anyone. They really don't bark that much either! Just when they're trying to be big and bad to protect the family.
Very touching. Have Maltese x shi Tzu - terrific dogs, don't bark unless someone enters the yard etc easy as to house train already from 8 weeks use pee pads effectively and also knew to exit to garden from 12 to 14 weeks. Only thing to watch is matting of hair, need to brush regularly and clip around face, paws and bottom especially.
The way Hope looks at his/her? human reminds me so much of the most affectionate and intelligent dog I've ever had. I grew up with a lot of dogs who we all loved equally but that one Pomeranian made a very special place in my heart. It's been 3 years since our 8-year old Pom passed away but I'm still sad. That look that Hope has on his/her? face made me smile. Thanks.
I have a maltese mix (he's part maltese and part shih tzu). He is black and grey with patches of white on his head. the older he gets the lighter his hair gets. He's a total love bug when it comes to my mom and I, and with my dad and brother he's a rough and tumble boy. Lol We take him everywhere except the store. his name is Zeus btw, and as small as he is he really lives up to that name. :)
Raven. We have one exactly like that. He was 8 wks. old when we got him & just a little, round, black & white ball. He'll be 10 yrs. old next month & is now gray & white, & gets lighter colored every yr. He goes everywhere with us & we take turns shopping & staying with him so he's never alone. I have a Maltese and I agree with all what the video says, they easily suffer from dental disease and when they are too pampered they become too needy, as it became with out case. I still love him though and I hope he lives more years as I don't know what me and my family would do without him.

It's all dependent on the individual dog. Train them well and socialize them often because they often bound strongly with one person and can be very protective of that person. My aunt has a Maltese and he's very intelligent.
Hope's story is so inspiring. She is such a cute dog. I wasn't very sure about Maltese before, but now I adore them. This would be the kind of dog I want. A dog that would just love me unconditionally is something I want. Plus, they're hypoallergenic. I love dogs, but I'm sadly allergic to them. So with Maltese, I would be one of the happiest people in the world.

I have a Maltese. Her name is heaven. She is loving, caring and beautiful. She is great with people who have allergies and she does not have fur, she has hair. Which is also great for people who have allergies. Their good to keep by ur side 24/7. They may seem small but trust me, they protect. My dog barks at strangers who come closer to me. Maltese can be shy. Mine is. The only flaw about them is, they lick you ALOTTTT
Fantastic devise, I had a thought, watching it; that perhaps it could benefit from independent suspension on the wheels? It might give the dog more turning ability and remove the problem of grass and pebbles?
A maltese being dependent on their owners is very true!! My girlfriends family have one. They left it home alone for 2 hours to go out to dinner and came back home to a wrecked home. It chewed it's way through the screen door to get out. And at night, if it doesn't sleep in a bed with someone he will howl and cry aaaall night lol
Ours hates to be left alone but prefers his own bed to sleep. If left alone he doesn't damage anything but cries until he gets sick, then won't eat for 2 days & just looks sad. We gave up trying to leave him home yrs. ago & just take turns staying with him.
We had another idea for Hope's new wheels. It's possible to make a lighter skateboard truck. Then she could lean and the wheels would go that direction. She could actually steer by leaning. The trucks would have to be made a little taller to fit her height but could actually work well for her. Just trying give you more ideas. Lot's of hope for Hope.
I have two maltipoos. They don't bark at all. It's all about the training, but they never barked to begin with, only when they invite you for a play. My friend has a maltese and a maltipoo and they are both barkers.
I have a maltie and yes we keep him in puppy cut in summer, for comfort, but let him grow out in winter. We have long winters in Canada so it does take some pretty serious grooming. Also it's true about their teeth, I didn't know when we got him and just cost me a grand to have his teeth cleaned etc. We are now brushing daily!
My Maltese is my baby. She is eleven now we've had her sense I was five. She loves going to get her toys and whip it around but she refuses to bring it back. Mostly she enjoys sleeping and chilling on my dad's stomach. She also likes digging at my hair
Maltese are the best. My maltese rarely barks, and he was super easy to housebreak. Within 2-4 days he had fitted in to his bedroom and training him to urinate/poop outside was easy, just put the puppy pads by your front door and then slowly start to put them outside and just remember to put your dog in the garden as soon as you can and supervise them, and whenever they wee/poop, just reward them a great deal! It didn't take long at all for me. X
Because of their small size they are inadvertently more fragile. A young child could easily hurt the dog if they were to pick the dog up in the wrong manner, drop the dog or just handle the dog roughly. However, can be owned in a family with children when supervised carefully by the parents. It explained this at 06:09 when it was explaining the 'Family' part.
Maltese are the best dogs in the world. They are remarkably clever and dependable, and if you train them properly from the beginning, they can be a great lap dog and be able to play independently. I LOVE my Maltese, Sophie :D
