Good morning! So good to wake up and see you again! Yey! Thanks for showing up! God bless you and heal you completely! No lifting or doing too much, trust me you don't want hernia! Hugs🤗💜🤗
Love the way you explain what you are doing. Sometimes reading these things can be overwhelming for a new gardener. My husband doesn't like to be around when I get the loppers out because he knows something is coming down. Thanks again for all the tips
After seeing the trees removed in front of the house it feels like a weight has been lifted! Also seeing the fence removed makes it look like the new property is actually connected, can't wait until is all complete!
Oh my, I had no idea I could save my branches and force them to bloom. I have a deciduous magnolia tree that has a ton of buds but really needs pruning. Now I won't mind cutting them off.
@@tinaelliott2575 An hour ago, it was overcast. Right now, it looks like my home is in the middle of a shaken snow globe. I'm not spending anytime outside today, lol.
Very helpfully just came in from shoveling drive 1and half hrs then pulled pictures of my gardens I planted last year that made me smile can't wait till spring 2 months
Your videos always makes things seem so much simpler. Thank you! That was good information to share that the tree heals itself and even faster in the winter. Cool!
Good morning everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your coffee or tea! ❤️ 💜 What a great instruction video! I feel confident I could trim a tree now! Thank you for this very helpful video! 💪🏼
I can’t watch one of their videos without coffee😂 I’m ready to go out and trim some trees in my yard! Just have to wait for it to get a little warmer and for the snow to melt.
This was very helpful. I have a serious FOP (Fear Of Pruning). Later this winter, I'm going to try coppicing on a 3-plant Mock Orange I have in front of my bay window that's about a dozen years old. Fingers crossed.
I love how you incorporated your new silver ice bucket for the forcing of the blooms. Really pretty. Thank you for this video, it is always a good reminder of the things we can start to do.
Beautiful! That was very informative and inspirational 👏 Your garden is transforming so rapidly now and it is such a joy and blessing to watch it all unveil! Thank you so much!
Good morning!! I was just thinking that I needed to start doing my trees! Thanks for the perfect timing video ❤ I'm a single mom and I love gardening. You help give me confidence to tackle the jobs in my garden.
You planted on the land and in spirit it became YOURS. It wasn't long until the land became yours legally. Acquisition is a BEAUTIFUL thing. :) love you guys!
Excellent video! Perfect example that trees need to be taken care of when young. Most people plant a tree and forget it, then when it’s older it’s not a pretty tree. I’ve taken many trees down because they where never taken care of, if it would have been I could have been a beautiful tree.
🌱Every one of your ventures and adventures are very fun, and so informative. I'm thankful for these videos--watching the progress and enjoying you and your lovely family during these long days of winter has been the highlight of my days for sure! 🌲
Oh.so.lucky to be able to get outside...im near Madison Wisconsin and we have over 4 ft of snow piled up and temps tonight at -30 below w Wind chill Burrr Love watching, it keeps me thinking & wishing For Spring.
Thanks for the informative video. I always learn something from you. I'm a lover of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping. I love learning new things and I'm a self learner and have become addicted to your channel. I live in a very small, remote, northern Canadian community, called Happy Valley-Goose Bay, in Labrador of Newfoundland and Labrador. Our climate is very different than yours for the most part, however, this year, our temp are unusually high, but so is our snow. It will be a little while before I can prune my trees and shrubs so I'll save this video for future reference.
Thank you, Laura for the way you explained the tree pruning process. I never understood or was aware of the water sprouts concepts. Love the branches in your new silver bucket. Looks great and love the vignette arrangement in that corner. Your explanation is very clear. Love from Sydney, Australia.
Super-helpful video! Recently got married & moved into my husband's house on 5 acres. We have a pear tree and also blueberries, raspberries & grapes (among other things). I'm a brand new gardener learning how to prune. You explain things very well -- and good camera work too! Thanks very much!
I did some tree pruning last year after your video. I wish I could get out there now and do more pruning but there is about 6 inches of snow and freezing temperatures. We've had a pretty mild winter up to about 10 days ago now our temperatures have plummeted. I need to do some seed starting because I miss gardening. 🌷 💚
Good video. I discovered over the years that if you cut a branch at an angle instead of straight across its waaaaaay easier to cut. Even with loppers you can cut large branches easily. 😊
Thanks, this is a good lesson in limb removal for a large number of trees!!! The landscape is really changing, this is soooo exciting! It will be beautiful! I have a very small planting area after years of a huge lawn, so now I live vicariously through you and your followers ❣️❣️
I love the end where I saw the vase of branches and I said, "that's the vase you bought when I was with you (virtually) at the antique store". I know you'll do an update when they're in bloom.
I love pruning! I’m waiting to trim up my boxwood cuz we’re expecting 17 degree nights soon in North Texas. I always learn something from your videos...water sprouts were that for me in this video. Thank you!
Great video Laura. You’re an excellent teacher! Seems to me some people who trim/prune trees for a living (not certified arborists) could learn a lot from watching this video. Thank you for helping us wannabe gardeners!
Love the visual of your forced branches. Thank you also for breaking down the phases of what to prune. It makes it so much easier to think of it that way.

Love the check list & this refresher to pruning! I also learned new pointers too! That tree looks so much better! Hope the crab apple heals & performs, darn gophers! 😃🌳✂️
Thank you, Laura. I had no idea I could cut out the water sprouts and what they are called. My Lilacs are the only trees that do this so I thought it was just how the trees grow. I’ve never liked them and wanted to cut them out. Excited to learn I can. ☺️
Super video! This helps so much actually seeing you prune the tree. I’ve read so many things but seeing it done is great. I have a Kousa dogwood that is in desperate need of a good pruning I just need our 6 inches of snow to melt first. 😊
As a Master Gardener I took many pruning classes so I would feel comfortable pruning my orchard. Out of all the classes, none of them pruned exactly the same. I’m still not completely comfy but if someone remembers what you just taught, they will do great!
