I think the paprika took over; its very assertive. Everything I’ve mixed it with it’s taken over. The Cajun Spice is much more orangey ginger, no real violet undertones. I feel like unless you want to go all paprika it’s pointless to mix it with anything because it just takes over. If you’re going to use the Cajun Spice is go 100% that and/or dilute it with a bit of conditioner, but I don’t think the paprika plays well with others 😉😅😁♥️
Ladee Lyon any time! 💖 I found Arctic Fox Poison to be the same way. Gorgeous shade, but super assertive. Even a drop or two influences the final result enormously. I’m sure whatever you decide to do next will be bomb! The research and experimentation is half the fun, though, right? 😉
Agreed !! I did that a while ago, mixed Paprika w/ copper brown, cajun spice. The paprika took over and made my hair look like a salmon. I had to add orange blaze, sunrise orange, and truly red ( truly red is a warm red ) to take that pink out. I'm not using paprika again lol
Can I suggest you try adore orange blaze, paprika & HINT of Ruby it gives you a beautiful Rihanna orange copper red. Wash, towel dry & apply. Use a cap that hooks to your dryer for 15min & rinse. You can seal these colors with a clear shine demi. Hope this helps, I use adore on myself and my clients.

Try color oops, it works fabulously for me ever single time. even took my multiple layer black back to orange blonde. Just don't dye over it directly after you use the remover, it will go back dark. Good luck 😊
Hi Ladee! Your hair does look great. I love that style with the bangs! I also love to wear my fringe or bangs too. But I also agree with you on that your hair does look more brown than red or ginger. I prefer you with the coppery ginger on you! Or, the color you had before! :)
I think using the Cajun spice by its self might work sense its slightly different from the shade using the paprika will overpowered the Cajun spice but I'm not a hair professional
I think you should lift your base 2 tones lighter to dark blond ( first let all the colors wash out for good 5 -6 weeks) and then play with semi permanent colours over the lighter base. :)
Honestly, I would just go to the salon a get a round a full head high lights! It will brighten your hair up so much ! You're beautiful with any shade of red though.

I use cajun spice and it is my absolute favorite! Paprika is more of a RED color and less of a red orange. I use paprika strictly in my conditioner to overtone :) hope this helps~
Paprika is so so red, I had dyed my hair orange copper and I was gonna refresh the swatch looked orange but it turned my hair so so red, I was like nooooo lol
Ladee Lyon ! I totally forgot to say: The adore hair dyes are all semi permanent. It will NOT lighten your hair at all, so like, when you do your roots for example, it will not lighten them. I would probably try a vitamin c treatment first since its non-damaging. And then afterwards try the adore Cajun spice. I can definitely share my routine with you if at all it helps. My hair is black naturally and I maintain it a (in my opinion) very pretty reddish orange color.
I'm obsessed with the dark red you have at the beginning, literally what I'm trying to get but don't think I can bring myself to have bright red hair until it fades to that shade... lol x

That's a good idea to add sunset orange! It's such a shame when we don't get the exact red that we want. Red is sure a tricky color and it's not helpful when brands state that their colors are lighter than they really are. Thank you! Merry Christmas! 🎄

I just found your channel while looking through videos to find how to get my friend the red she wants, which is the faded red you have in the video 😆 I dyed her hair ruby red from Schwarzkopf box dye and it turned out too dark, she wants more of a medium copper red. Have you tried Schwarzkopf Igora Royal Fashion Lights L-77 Copper? That is next on my list to try. I currently am using Arctic Fox yellow and orange mixed and I just apply it every time I shampoo, I shampoo, then mix with conditioner and apply in shower and put on a plastic cap. Then do all my other shower things, about 10 min or so and rinse out, it keeps it vibrant, but I liked that the L77 literally is a permanent color with only orange and yellow pigment in it, no red and no brown. I am hopeful it will last longer than the arctic fox. I was using Paprika from Feria (UK only color) I had to buy it from the UK Amazon and paid a pretty penny for shipping too, it worked just like the old power copper but it is too expensive to keep shipping from the UK.
I have not tried that Schwarzkopf color. The last time I did a color from that line I was unimpressed, but that doesn't mean I can't try it again! I didn't even know they had that color. I swear I need to open a dye retail store that sells *all the dye* that is ever made from every brand. 😂 It stinks that some colors aren't available in all countries.

Lol! Thank you! And no, I haven't tried the Ruby. Have you? I heard it was just a booster color and therefore wasn't sure if I could use it to dye my hair.

I guess if it's a color booster, that might work out nicely :) And I agree, the Cajun and Paprika from Adore are pretty but not as vibrant as you like. I think you're gorgeous in all the reds but you're happiest with the vibrant reds.
I have brown hair tooo and I get your worries I had put henna in my hair in the hope that it would be a natural shade of copper without bleaching my hair... and it gave me a deep red color so disapointed and it was a journey to go back to copper....

Hello! I sure love the first colors of red I used. I used L'Oreal Mega Reds, one part MR1 and one part MR3, mixed with equal parts 20 developer and I left it in my hair for thirty minutes (or close to that). The Mega Reds line has *fantastic* colors, but didn't seem to last as long as I'd like (which is forever 😂).
I had a friend use the same adore brand in deep indigo or whatever the purple color name is and she used it on her hair but she did not do the heating technique and then I used it on my hair and used the heat activating technique and mine came out purple when hers was coming out blue
I have been waiting for this video since I voted for you to try these two colours, and feel so sorry it turned out so dark on the test strand. I myself have not tried these out yet as I am using the truly red and the ginger mix as an overtone, it looks pretty, but too red for me, sometimes gives a really unnatural colour in daylight which I don't like. Wanted to try the paprika&Cajun spice mix after I run out of this overtone but it looks too dark for me too. It might look lighter if you apply it on a lighter tone ?!. Your hair looks really nice btw, I loved the wella tango cherry/paprika on you. X
Thank you! Yeah I'm thinking this color would be amazing on lighter hair. I understand the Truly Red and Ginger being too red. It's hard to find that perfect balance of red at times. And it seems the moment we find the perfect red dye it gets discontinued! I'm 100% all for a natural looking, but vibrant, red hair. Just like you! But those are hard to find.
@@thetypewoman I agree sadly this is the truth. When I started to dye my hair red I used Alfaparf and Igora royal, but could not find the perfect colour, it was either too dark or too oringy, not that beautiful vibrant BUT still natural looking red. My favourite and all time colour is the paprika from wella color tango and I have to say thank you very much for you because I saw it in your video for the first time! 😊 Wella koleston also has got pretty good shades, they have these vibrant reds dyes if you are interested have a look on their colour chart. I am considering to give that a try next time, or when I get bored of the paprika. Back to the original topic, I wouldn't do bleach bath if I were you as my friend has recently done it and she got chemical burns all over her scalp. Also she had to use Olaplex right after it. She is an unnatural red as well and had just the same problem like you have now. I think vitamin C wash or just a redye with 30 developer and the righ colour would do the job. Or I would consider colour remover/eraser. It would help to get rid of the recent dye you have applied because I assume your hair looked lighter before this colour. Hope I could help with this, course I am not a professional just someone who does the job for helself like you.
There’s no possibility of doing a bleach wash with a 10 vol? Just to lighten it up and then do your preferred red/copper after? Your hair is seriously amazing in every red you do but I am a sucker for a light copper color!!! Your hair looks healthy and I don’t think a bleach bath would harm it to lift out some of the darker build up. I’m not a professional just a color junky who does her own hair and I’ve done my round of bleach washes😜
I'll look into it! I keep bouncing back and forth from a vitamin C wash to a bleach bath to a dye that'll lift my color. But of all those things, a bleach bath I've yet to do! This may be a good time to start. And thank you! 🤗
I haven't considered it as it looks like it'll turn out rather dark. I'll have to look and see if there's others who have tried it and see their results! Thank you for mentioning the color! It may be a color I use!
😂😂😂 I never showed you, but it’s hilarious that you admit that you may have forgotten. That color is pretty, but super dark. Maybe you should vitamin c or even bleach it to lift the color. OR what if you added a touch of bleach to the color? Would that even work? I swear there’s something you can add to color that will lighten it... said one nonprofessional to another. 😁

Maby you can try Igora Royal Reds number 8.77? With 30 volume developer? Its a more copper/ginger color and then mix in a little igora royal fashion lights L-88 Red Extra..to add more red.. 30 developer give you some lift and if you let it sit for 45 minutes it should give a lighter color.. but if you add a lot of red, i think it will appear darker in the beginning...
I love me a deep conditioner! I like to put it on my ends as a mousse. Other days I'll put it on my ends and leave it in braids. This reminds me I need to do another treatment!
