I keep hoping that eventually you all will get a farm dog. You just can't beat a good dog for deer control, predation protection and security alarm when anyone shows up on your place. It doesn't necessarily have to be a LGD, but one who can happily live out in all weather. I know a certain lil Buggie that would be a great trainer :)

God gave you 4 strapping boys to work by your side and love the land. Then he gave you two willing girls to sweeten your life. So thrilled for you.

Afternoon is time to move inside ordinarily. Today temps dropped here to 80 with an 11 mile wind. Worked in the garden weeding, training vines and removing more tomato suckers.

LOL, good thing Buggie has big brothers! I led a perfect childhood thanks to my brother. He took me places when he hung out, and treated me with courtesy, even though there was a 5 year age difference. He taught me what to expect from a gentlemanly date and told me to expect nothing less than the best. When I came of dating age, he took aside the fellows and "eddu-kated" them on how to behave before he was allowed to leave with me. My dad worked two jobs six days a week, so he delegated this important role to my bro. I count myself as blessed.

We had a tiny runt from a neighbour who was going to put it down because its litter mates had already bitten its tail and some of its ears off so we raised it. It became a bully and we had to be very careful feeding it (we were quite small) it made beautiful bacon 😅

instead of sour cream on baked potatoes i've been putting onion dip on them. this has been going on for about 6-8 months and i'll probably keep doin it another several months. try it, you'll like it too.

I'm in TX, so I work outside till noon, and go out again around 6 or 7 and battle mosquitos the rest of the evening.

Ben put some dill weed, season salt, garlic and onion powder in your mayo. Perfect for dips or even sour cream

You were doing better than I am, Ben. I sleep too long in the morning don’t get up till 10 - 12! so I only have the evening shift to be out in my garden from about 6:30 sometimes wait until 8:00 because of the heat. Then we have maybe an hour and a half before sundown.

I love my homemade gluten and dairy free ranch dressing on my baked potatoes. So yummy! In fact it's good on almost everything. 😊

Lovely update! You know what would make it more tolerable outside? WATER!! Like as in streams, or pools! I use pool for my Method. No streams near me.

My Texas Longhorn Rancher does your same exact time frame in the summer months. 6 to 12 feed up and farm chores (do air conditioning work from noon to 5 ) then 5 to 9 feed up and put em to bed. He just rescued 3 uncut feral male mini donkeys that have been the scourge of the neighbor for over a year. Apparently they were abandoned in the vicinity. .They are so cute and pretty to look at, but man they are brutal, and they "use" each other and donkey love is brutal by nature and alternative donkey love is wounding. They all have horrible bite marks on their necks, they riddled with parasites, and they need to be gelded as the Rancher has horses and standard donkeys and all the female equines are are fertile. So first, he used an air rifle and shot them all with an eggshell capsulre that breaks on contact full of de-wormer and pesticides. Then he moved them into his horse trailer and put antibiotic ointment on all their neck wounds. Next is a vet visit and after than is taming and grooming and hoof work. Good thing he has lots of subscribers because all his rescues are a very expensive proposition. The 3 mini donkeys are Andy, Brandon and Cedric.

I was literally aching to hold that precious baby and do what my husband's granmother called, "the grandma jig." It was a little back and forth dance that she swore by. She did with all 3 of our children. Ohhhhh how sweet!

My whole family gets so excited when you put out a new video. We love your family!! Thank you for teaching my teens about gardening. The garden they built from watching you has been a huge blessing. I never would have thought that growing our own food would help to heal my health problems, but it did. I am grateful. Thank you!! By the way, our neighbor asked permission to take pictures of the garden because of its beauty. Makes me laugh because we look like farmers in a Subdivision. But, the kids used what they had. My husband was always worried about what the neighbors would think. Now the neighbors are taking pictures because of the beauty ( a garden wrapped in a present of flowers and song birds in a small Subdivision backyard- and a healthy mommy). Thanks!

I always chose the runts in any litter I was shopping for. Best dogs I ever had and my cat lived to about 24. Pigs are adorable. So are all of you. ❤❤❤

Buggie is such the big helper on the homestead, always ready to join in the fun. Hearing Ben call the baby "little parrot" was too cute....next summer Birdie and Buggie will be running around the farm together!

Omg yess this heat is NO JOKE .,Tx I’m only doing early early in the morning and then I’ve been doing 730,8 at night at eight at night is so hot. I’ve been coming in drenched been so busy with my little garden. We’re doing home projects as well and then tonight I hear we’re gonna get really bad rain Hopefully I can sleep better. I’ve been having a hard time sleeping so much…💚🌱

Cute little piggies and always nice when the pigs clear off some more land. Exactly who doesn't like baked potatoes. I usually smash them after there baked slather on the melted butter, cheese and I add either chopped up BBQ pork, beef or chicken add salsa and sour cream yum. Ben, it's been almost a hundred w/ humidity around 70 ugh so I get up about 4:30 a.m. when it's about 69 and a slight breeze after 8 a.m. I'm in for the day but, then I'm old 😅. Elizabeth is so cute, well goes without saying so is Buggy and getting tall. Blessings to you and the family. 😊🇺🇲

Hello, that looked like so much fun! I haven't seen baby pigs for well a very very long time. On the farm when i was a child, pigs were my favourite. The mama pig used to let me scratch her back with a stick! I love the sound that they make! I remember them sticking their whole face in the wet feed my family used to make for them.
