How is she THIS FUCKING GOOD?!! How can anybody change up this much without being boring or predictable with it or looking like some rapper “playing” at metal music? She is a goddess.
And if she had better people around her to help her focus, to keep her training consistently to improve on everything especially her voice and singing technique, and have some kind of vision for her career, she would be killing the game right now.
her label made her sing this song for a whole year but the fact that she switched genres and concepts so it wouldn't get boring and repetitive just shows how versatile of an artist she is.
Just watched Dojas new Apple interview where she talked about wanting to do more rock/punk music with a live band and I thought of this awesome performance and had to come back and listen to it again. Doja is do diverse, she can pull any genre off.
I saw that interview and got so excited when she said that because this version of this song is probably my favorite of hers by far. If she releases a rock album next I will ascend.
this version is so pop punk/post hardcore/emo whatever you wanna call it. Most rock versions sounds so fake but she literally embodied what rock is, both the music and her mannerisms
@@joshuajackson4742 tone has nothing to do with skill it’s subjective. The sound of someone’s voice doesn’t take away or add to skill. Range does show skill level. If you have the range you clearly have the ability/skills and technical understanding in how to support and reach said notes.
@@Hyxnjxn that isn't true whatsoever. Reaching notes isn't difficult. I don't think you're a singer lol. Range doesn't show skill level at all. You saying tone has nothing to do with skill is completely baffling to me, I'm a singer, pianist and a saxophone player and I work daily with other singers. Tone is influenced by how you shape the vocal tract, larynx position, free movement of the vocal chords, and vocal onset all which are learnt skills and more important than how taught the cords are stretched, which is all reaching a note is. You literally don't know a single thing about singing. According to you anyone who can howl a high note out like a banshee dying would be a good singer. Range is more biological predetermined than tone is and has nothing to do with how good a singer is. Please know what you're talking about before commenting in future. I hope you learnt something from my comment, thanks bubs.
@Calla BARTLETT LARRAGAN Dude, "Pop Goes Punk" just describes an alternative, rock-y cover of a pop song. It's not literally translating a song into punk. Metal covers of pop songs get thrown under the umbrella.
@Calla BARTLETT LARRAGAN "pop goes punk" just means a pop song being turned into a more alternative sounding type remix and or cover. u be taking shit too literally man
Bruh I've been trying to put it in podcast on it, everytime that I've been trying to hear it after publishing it it said 404 not found 😢 I've tried 6 times 💀💀
can we talk about how her high note blended into the the guitar so perfectly🥰love it she needs to make more music like this Edit :this is the most likes i've ever gotten (200 likes in 3 monthes😲)
This deserves so much more credit and attention. The muscality, the theatricality, her versatility, the stage design, the fact that her backing band is giving it their absolute ALL. AND ITS A POP SONG?!? Like what ?!?!
Say so in metal is such an masterpiece!!! I just can't believe that in this version Say So got even better. The vocals, the guitar, the stare... DOJA KILLED IT!! I just cannot get tired of this music, every time I hear it sounds better and better. I wish that this version with Doja's voice was on spotify. AMAZING SONG, WE NEED A METAL ALBUM SO BADLYYYYY
So....yes......she is able to not have a song burn out in a month. Streets is popping right now....who knows what song will pop off next. She could go another year without an album
@@dougxvale ..I remember MTV [I miss old school MTV] and back then rap & rock had a platform where they could get stuff played to certain extent otherwise it was played late at night.
She could literally release an album called Say So. Each track is Say So. But each track sounds completely different. I’d buy it. Was not expecting this version AT ALL. 🤘🏼🔥
People can rag on Doja but this chicka is the real fricking deal. She can do pop, hip hop, rock, and most likely can do metal to. She's the real fricking deal
@@CaydenZo ehh she does she’s performed all the same songs switching them up so they are all different and we don’t get tired of them she’s so creative definitely the best of 2020
not when gaga started in dance-synth pop, then did eurogothic industrial heavy metal dance, then she did edm on ARTPOP, released a jazz album, did a soft-rock country album, sang heavy metal with metallica, did a star is born crossing into multiple genres, did euro-house dance pop, and now she’s back to jazz this year.
@... lemmee hear... So far, Gaga is holding that versatility mantel for contemporary artists and I don't think Doja might be a good enough actress to pull off a movie role. We would have to see.
bruh she literally never disappoints. the musical talent, the sexiness, the fashion, the facial expressions, the versatility in all areas. TALENTED BRILLIANT INCREDIBLE AMAZING SHOW STOPPING
@@Zaliant she didn't give them the music sheet. The band playing the instruments decided THEMSELVES to do such a thing. She just wanted a rock version, got to perform it this way and enjoyed every second.
@@Zaliant Doja makes her beats, writes her lyrics, and produces. This isn't her typical genre, why would she need to know how to write a guitar arrangement if it's not typically in her songs?
Have you seen anyone like her in the music industry lately? The amount of work she puts into her craft is insane. She's a breath of fresh air.Still haven't recovered from this performance. The power...Jesus..
@@wack9349 they’re forcing her to produce different versions, she wishes she could perform her other records to mainstream award shows, but unfortunately say so is the most well known by a mile
This is ecstatic! It delves into the desires one has from a romantic/sexual relationship and basically asks one to be verbal about it. It also talks about how women feel when lusty eyes follow them around, but those smirks and smug comes not from some random trivial person, but the pearl of their eyes. They embrace the tension, the heat and the attention antithetical to their feelings of disinterest, disgust and panic. It explores against the template that women are not at all sexually aroused, away from the norm and stereotypes. I love it!
I'm so excited for her new album. She's always been artistic and creating art outside of the box. People lately have really been thinking she's changed drastically, she's always been like this. She doesn't follow trends, she finds beauty in the abnormal and brings it out in art form. It's human to grow and she has grown creatively and small minds can't understand. I've been a fan since day one and I think her next album will silence a lot of people talking shit in her comments
It’s true doja said so on Twitter which I don’t blame her, hot pink has so much other songs that could big hits like say so, such as rules, streets, like that and bottom B
She took the "what's trendy among teens on tiktok in 2020" and turned into a version called "what's trendy among teens on MySpace in 2005". Is mid-oughts post hardcore making a comeback because I'm here for it
This performance means so much to me coming from the metal/rock community. We honestly get no love in the mainstream media so to see Doja do this twist to her original song was much appreciated.
@@kleber6615 her new album is gonna be more focused on being fully rap. she’s sick of people not giving her credit as a female rapper. her new feature on kill bill with sza i feel is a good representation of what we can expect with the album.
It's honeslty so sad that we lost the say so/planet her Doja ANDDDDD rock Doja!! I really hope she comes back to herself and stops caring about the public sa ying she can't rap and she can't do this when clearly she can. She looked so much happier during this period. I hope we get this Doja back one day and that she can do more rock covers.
