Wow. What most people don't know, this is the hardest Dokken song to sing. Those high notes are way way up and Don Dokken uses vocal compression for some of those notes which gets harder as you go higher. I have 0 complaints about the vocals, amazing Dave can sing this song, it's near impossible. Great job by everyone.

Spent 12 years in network news covering and interviewing musical acts across multiple genres. Dokken was one of many. You guys sound fantastic. Drums and bass lines locked, guitars and keys running on all cylinders. Vocals are superb. Love your live Toto cover too. Hope to catch you live sometime.

I have been a Dokken fan and big George Lynch fan sense the 80s and I got to say you guys kicked some ass the guitar player dead on loved it sounded better then the last time I seen Dokken live.

I'm close to declaring that i prefer this over the original, mostly based on the singer. I would like to hear a more "vinyl", saturated mix of the other instruments, though. They're generally too crisp, other than the guitar solo.

Sure be nice is they learned how to play a 7th chord, learned about modulation or employ some dynamics. This is from an elementary school view of harmony.

Thank you for your expertise professor. Did you just google those terms "7th chord", "modulation" and "dynamics" prior to posting your expert opinion ? You did not specify which 7th you would like to hear, minor or major 7th ? This song actually doesn't have 7th chords but there are quite a few 9 and sus4 chords in there. Not that your musically trained ear would know the difference, they probably didn't teach that in your elementary school of harmony... Also, this song is in one key so it doesn't have modulation. You came for Dokken and expect dynamics... I don't believe you are in the right place...🤣

@@ChicagoRockhouse actually I've been in the music business for 30 years. Owned a label. Worked with some of the biggest names in the business. It's okay if you like Dokken. For my ears, it's just too simple, too predictable and lacks the basic tools to effectively create any kind of interest. Real musicians are capable of expressing a wide variety of moods and environments. Bands like these have one mode and that's it. Nothing wrong with that. But there's a difference between a riff and real music.
