Personally, I think it's a pretty fair fight between the two. Yumeko is a demon that is the most powerful creation of a goddess, but Sakuya (a human) has the abilities of manipulating time, which does give her a significant advantage. If she didn't have those powers then I'd say Yumeko would more than likely win for the reasons above. On an unrelated note my all-time favorite Touhou character (Sariel) is PC-98. And I mean OLD PC-98.

guess that you didn't know perfectly yumeko, her special ability is to make herself "volatile", by that i mean that she act like air and that bullets/knives go through her without damaging her, since there is a little lag when sakuya stop time, this gives yumeko the time to make herself volatile, rendering sakuya's ability useless. The battle would be more like a battle of pure agility since their powers are useless against the other.

pierreyann1 I forgot I even made this comment, haha! My point wasn't that Sakuya would win in a fight, but that some people (at the time, I guess) act like snobs for having played the older and lesser known games in the series, whereas a lot of other fans just sit there and praise the EoSD characters. Just a little something I found annoying about some fans. I mean, hey, as long as we all love Touhou, that's what should matter!

Of course! I was just kinda going into analysis on the strengths and weaknesses of each character, and each character in general having something to like (like I like Yumeko's theme better, but Sakuya's design)

Honestly, I think they're fairly evenly matched, considering Yumeko can become intangible while moving.

***** Yumeko could be effectively be walled by knives, and she'd still be able to escape. The battle would essentially be based around catching the opponent off gaurd, something both sakuya and Yumeko could effectively pull off.

It looks like Yumeko can only become intangible for around a second. Whilst we've never seen Sakuya stop time for more than a few seconds Based on these, Sakuya may win merely because she can stop time longer than Yumeko remains intangible Although Yumeko may also be more durable considering she's a doll and not an actual person with multiple vital organs

Still...throwing swords is a lot more effective and flashier than knives. I like Sakuya's character more, Yumeko is a bit more of a hollow shell.

***** Flashier yes, but effective no. Have you ever tried to throw swords? They don't work right because you're essentially trying to throw lances. Knives are smaller and therefore fly through the air more easily.

***** Eh, fair enough point. Then again, the fact that it is more difficult also shows her level of skill as an assassin. Regardless, I still like Sakuya and her personality more.

***** Well actually I meant to say that knives are shorter and therefore have less air resistance and better weight displacement WHILE you're trying to aim them. Still, using swords as an assassin is interesting. Throwing swords is kinda the Xx420MLGPROgEtReKtxX of fighting styles.

***** Not necessarily, to accurately send that many swords flying at once Yumeko would HAVE to be using magic to telekinetically launch them, which pretty much anyone capable of telekinesis could do, where as Sakuya actually stops time and *throws* all of her knives, which takes a lot of skill to do with any accuracy.

Everyone operates under the very likely belief that Yumeko can manipulate space, just as Sakuya can manipulate time.
