A realistic looking tree. Made 3 trees for $30. Used 25 bags of pine picks form the Dollar Tree. Each bag contained 6 picks. The trees came out beautiful. Next time I will try with round dowels
All materials were found at The Dollar Tree and Dollarama. Wooden materials can also be found at other dollar stores or craft stores.

Trunk
The trunk of the tree was created by dowels of 3 different widths. The narrowest on top.
Use hot glue or wood glue to attach dowels together
Once glued together paint the trunk brown.
Base
Use a drill bit smaller than your screw to drill a whole in the bottom dowel.
Use the same bit to drill hole in the middle of the round base
Use a large drill bit larger than the head of the screw.
Drill at the bottom of the base just enough for the screw to sit flush with the bottom of
the base. Don't drill through the base.
Screw base to the trunk
Branches
The picks were cut short at the top. The sizes of the pick get larger as you go down.
Drill a small hole in the top of the trunk
Glue the stem of 1st cut pick to create the top branch.
Hot glue the other branches on from short to long.
Whole picks created the bottom branches.
