Well, Andrew got himself in a pickle again - working a sound gig in some mysterious town without ANY of his normal expendables kit! Naturally, he took to the dollar store...
This episode is here to show you some creative workarounds for all of your traditional expendables in case you ever find yourself in a pinch. We do NOT recommend any of these techniques over the professional gear that is obviously designed to serve this purpose, but it's good to know that other options exist. Enjoy and let us know what you want to see next on Sound 101!
Recommended expendables:

URSA ankle strap: amzn.to/3JwJmU8
Undercovers: amzn.to/3d5UjQm

always loved those videos with professionals with budget equipment and amateurs with pro-grade equipment, to highlight best practices and techniques rather than relying too much in the gear
@betoblanco603
The majority of industry professionals and people inside the business are going to punish and critique you for not using the expensive-pro equipment, videos like this make me happy because they normalize not having hundreds of dollars to spend in expensive equipment, what counts is your ability to use your tools at hand! Great content

I would like to see how you link up all those extra Lav Mics to Timecode units.

Using the BP-TRX to send over a dual mono audio (left - timecode, right - music) for music videos or choreography.

Great video as usual. I suggest the following videos, Firstly, Tips for Houses of Worship, "mic-ing" up pastors, or participants in a play -Christmas / Easter Show etc. bearing in mine that their spaces usually have less in terms of sound treatment. Secondly, microphones for teachers, the V-LAV ,Deity VO-7U and the Deity Pocket Wireless come to mind. Blended classrooms are now common place and teachers need to have good audio for the tutorial videos they make or for the videos they record in their classes for students who may be absent and since sound is at least 50% of a good video, it cannot be overlooked. Bonus idea, how to capture audio for a basketball, baseball other game at school where students are the commentators and we include sounds from the court and players for live broadcast. This could help for schools with Media Programs and clubs.

I'd like videos talking about: On-set Playback, Recording in high- noise environments, tips working in extreme temperatures, Lavs for very wet environments (surfing, swimming, scuba diving), and protecting your Lavs in fight choreography.

Sound 101 idea: A video on how to connect Deity connect timecode kit to Deity connect deluxe kit and have 4 body mics connected to one receiver. I actually went on the website and couldn't find anything to help. Hope to see a video for that. Will also contact customer service for help. Thank you

All these other comments are nice, but Andrew is a pro at them already. I think we want to Challenge Andrew and I think I have just the perfect idea.

I'd love to see an episode on how to record loud motorsports audio such as engines both on board and drive by. It's really hard to get good audio that transmits how powerful a machine is without coming off as too loud.
