Dollar Tree DIY Haunted Houses

This was not my idea, but I was inspired by several others that are in my Facebook groups to make this craft. I hope it inspires you to make one and put your own spin on it. If you do make one please join me on Facebook and share your photos of your finished product. We would all love to see it!
Items used are all from the Dollar Tree except for the command hooks and paint, those came from Walmart. Wall paper piece I had on hand from a previous project.
4 wooden haunted house 2 large and 2 small.
Tule or Mesh with orange webs
Modpodge
Popsicle sticks small and large
Bat and skull rings
Webbing with black spiders
Mesh tube lights orange or purple
Rope lights purple or orange

love your houses....very cool ideas....I did want orange fairy lights...and tryed a bit of paint on the bright white ones from dollar tree...it took a while for them to dry....but worked out good for dollar store lights in the color you want....

I made a haunted house and my family loved it. I also loved you giving us step by step instructions. I could not hear you really well, due to the music. It was rather irritating. But please make some more DT plaques for the Christmas houses!. 🙂

They're spooktacular!!! Both of them!!! I've been working on a version of the larger of the two houses in my spare time. I wish I had thought to break the popsicle sticks and use different sizes on the roof like you did :/ Smart touch! And I love the Haunted Halloween sign you made for the smaller house! Great ideas! Your houses are great! I would suggest that you unwrap your lights and disperse then through out rather than leave them all bunched up.

I love the detailed instructions on how you made both of the haunted houses and your creativity. It inspired me to get those items at Dollar Tree to make my first Halloween DYI craft project. It was hard to tell the brand for the black, silver and there was another color that you used to make the haunted sign in front of the door on the smaller house mentioned as well. What was the brand name? Also are those matte acrylic paints (black and silver) that you used to give the houses a weathered look? Thanks, Ting

It's not hard to do at all. Just gather up what you want to make your tree out of and follow along with my video, I'm sure you will do just fine. You got this!!!!

Carolyn Ward I got the Ryobi glue gun on Amazon. The link is for just the body only. You have to get the battery separate. I bought the knock off brand and get the battery cheaper. I had seen these on another channel about a month ago. I have made three of these. I used the small clothes pins from Dollar Tree to hold the lights on the inside of the structure. I painted them black and hot glued them inside the “walls”. It holds the lights securely. I also used two Jinga blocks to make steps to hot glue at the front door, also painted black. I found individual sheets of craft paper at Hobby Lobby much like what you used to cover the houses. Walmart sells wood boards to use as a base for the structure. I think i got a pack of six for under $ 3.00. We leave it plugged in at night for a nightlight. My grandkids love it. Your sound effects are annoying.
