In this Dollar Tree Diy Lantern, I take picture frames from the Dollar Tree spray paint and dry brush them to give them and old world feel, add a small round glass candleholder and clear plastic sink stopper to make a decoration on top to create a custom design. I show how easy and inexpensive it is to create a lantern to decorate your home with. Lanterns add a touch of elegance to your home decor.

Turned out great! ❤ Using more decorative frames really added a lot. And a friendly fyi, the "buckle" used for the handle is called a D ring.

Use a smaller frame for the bottom that's what I did and it turned out beautiful and ur's is beautiful to I just love stuff like this can't get enough of it

I tried this, but they all fell apart, so, before I used the glue gun, I used E600. Worked great.

Hi Ellen! I also found out Gorilla Glue makes glue sticks for the hot glue gun, and it's very strong! I use E6000 on everything I need to stay together, but it needs to cure for several hours at a minimum. So using both a hot glue gun AND E6000 would be great if you don't want to wait for the E6000 to set up. Hope this helps for future projects! 😊

You could use a cute little drawer handle for the front of the piece. The loop handle I don't like but each person to their own.

I made one of these, but I used some of the white metal easels they have at Dollar Tree and made hinges so one of the sides opens and I used a plain piece of glass for a bottom with contact paper over it I wish I had thought of a mirror

4:41 I can relate, and I’ve seen lots of other people with the same problem. The multi focal glasses are ok, but not good for close up, especially doing fine detailing.

What a lovely idea, its awesome. You could use another frame the same size as the top one and glue it to the bottom, so the bottom matches the top. Just pop your candle inside, would look wonderful with sprig of Holly and small gold Xmas tree baubles, a nice centre piece for table..'.. very festive. Xxxx

Mine is still together but if you’re unsure and you want to make sure that it’s really permanent then use E 6000 with hot glue to hold it until the E 6000 sets up.

Hi, I am not sure what it is called. I found it at Walmart in the sewing section. It is used to put fabric through it and then pull it tight. It is like a belt buckle. JoAnns may have it online. Hope this helps. Xoxo

Double the frames to make a taller one. Add the mirror candle holder at bottom in place of cardboard. I always wanted these but were do expensive. Nice.

You might be able to use a round metal container that the DT has to put pens in. You could antique it to match the lantern. Hope this helps! Take care. :)

I couldn’t use bifocals either. Then I got progressive lens which is no lines, and I haven’t had a problem since👍 I’m also going to try this DIY; you have such creative ideas! I love your lantern but I might try some type of a Decorative knob on the top.
