Every comment I see says They wouldn't trust dollar tree meat. Look you gotta do what you gotta do. Life is expensive nowadays and unfortunately sometimes this is all people can afford. I just want to say I appreciate this guy actually showing you that you can make decent food with what little you have and what little you can afford.
@@perrysmajestic988 I had no idea. But I guess that's a really good sign of the economy that everything is more expensive at a dollar store. I'm being sarcastic
I don’t know how well that would work with the dollar tree meat because I think they put a whole bunch of water in it so that it weighs more and costs less, so the towel would be a combination of grease and water (maybe).
I grew up poor and I grew up calling this "Ghetto Burger", our nickname for Hamburger Helper, which we couldn't afford at times. If my brother was on cook duty that day, we named anything he made "Ghoulosh" cause it was kinda scary like a Ghoul lol. My single mother was so fun and creative I had no concept of poor or my family was even it until I was around 10 years old. She never let us kids see her sweat. 💓💞💕
Nah jit it don’t go down easy cause it’s ground mystery meat 🍖 from the 1$ store ! 😮dirty with parasites 🦠 it in ! 😮 huuuuman meat? Cat filet !? Does this hurt the dog !? Mother eskeliard untisk and father brown smith 😮
Same with Dollar General or any other big chain general store, you're paying more for the accessibility. Better to just drive the extra some minutes into town sometimes, all depends on gas prices and how far out you are. I'm way out in the sticks so unless I'm wanting to drive another fourty minutes the old DG is my only bet lmao
For real, I actually spend less at Walmart and get more + healthier food. Dollar True used to be good but the $.25 raise is really noticable and some stuff is just straight up more expensive at dollar tree (even before the $.25 raise.)
Bro. Your charisma is outstanding. I am now a professional chef after having to feed a big family on a budget since I was 10 years old. This is a certified quality cheap meal. By the way, it doesn't "feed a family of 4 or 5" in my house. That goodness would be ALL ME! DANG she thick. Well done good sir.
So you could soak up the excess meat water with a paper towel OR you could turn up the heat, cook for longer to create brown bits on the bottom. Then deglaze the pan and BOOM extra flavour. Remember it's about developing layers of flavour.
@@aelivi Yea I thought the same before I tried it! Minced/ground beef is not prone to getting chewy because of the length of simmering time at the end. But yes, the process involves almost burning the minced/ground beef and then adding a liquid to remove the almost burnt bits. This extra step requires concentration and an openness to try new things to ultimately make food taste better!! 😊
When I was a boy my mom would mix ground beef and canned spaghetti and called it goulash. This video took me back 4 decades. I can taste my mom's goulash ❤❤
You are real m************ man!!! You didn't run out on your family your a provider! Thanks for showing us how to improvise! And take care of family God bless you and your family sir! 💥💯🙏😂
The dollar tree stores, in Ontario, Canada, do not have refrigerated foods. Atleast not that I've seen. But, great videos. I subscribed. Greetings and Respects from Canada.
Looked thru the comments just for this...dang meat cost more then a pound at the regular market like Walmart. DollarPlus lost they mind in California trying to compete hehehe
When I was in my early twenties I used to shop at this little shop called save a lot. Man I could get a meal of chicken Kiev and rice for like 4 dollars.
If you're eating at the dollar tree, you may want to leave the grease in the ground beef. Those are calories your body will need when you're splitting that pot with 4 other people.
