I love your DIYs. Two or three years ago, I made a hidden potions Halloween book, but separated the plys of paper towels. This had the same effect as the toilet paper, but took less time due to more coverage at once and I used more than one ply. Keep those clever DIYs coming. You are a very gifted crafter. TFS
📖🌟🕸🕷🐍🐲😈🔥🎃💀👻⚰☠🌻 For the snakes on the book cover, instead of making them out of just hot glue, u can also use the plastic kind same for spiders or other objects u want to add to the book. Can also use stickers or foam stickers letters. The same way u used the plastic ping pong ball eye. And then cover the book in mod.podge and toilet paper. And then paint. Makes it easier I think and has more dimension and smaller details. The items can be purchased from the dt.
Omg!!! Bethany you are my hero!!! Seriously. I found the Hocus Pocus books (last year) made in resin and sold on Amazon and Etsy for 200 bucks!!! I can't wait to try and make the Hocus Pocus book!!! 😘
You rock Bethany! I have watched sooooo many of the gothic book tutorials. They were so lengthy, confusing, time consuming and costly that I purchased the dollar tree box ones. Not what I wanted but.... You make it so easy to follow that I am starting right now. THANK YOU!!
You always blow my mind! Your incredibly talented! I love the hocus pocus book. Your painting skills on the book reminded me of your make up tutorial channel. I really enjoyed all these DIYs. Amazing like always! Love your channel ❤️
Bethany you do such a wonderful job on everything you do. Thank you so much for showing your work. You have inspired me to do diy projects and having a great time doing it. I'm a mom of 4 and work FT so that's my time so thank you.
I'm so going to make the book for my daughter who loves Hocus Pocus. But I'm going to try using one of those old-fashioned looking composition books so she has blank pages to write in it.
On the books I make and sell on my Etsy store (mostly Harry Potter text books) I use coffee filters instead of toilet paper or news paper because it has a better looking fiberous texture that ends up looking more like leather/old book cover. Also coffee filters are slightly thicker and can be easily torn on the edges and into random shapes to give a more organic feel so you don't end up with square edges. Plus it doesn't dissolve/ disintegrate like toilet paper can when using lots of glue /modpodge. Another thing I use is plastic kids toys like snakes, bats and bugs (Halloween is a good time to buy these). They can easily be cut up if you want only part of the bug or just the wings and such. I also use this technique over fake vines, leaves, branches etc. The best tip is to use very small pieces of coffee filter so you don't end up with bunching or puckers and it all looks smooth I find using a cheap pain brush to work the pieces in yeilds the best results. Final tip: buy the Dollar tree glue instead of the tiny bottles of mod podge. Thin the glue with some water and you will get loads more coverage out of a bottle of glue than 1 bottle of mod podge. I have made these using all Dollar tree products and they come out amazing but I have found they look even better if you go to the thrift store and buy old books with rough edged pages because they are already naturally shed and discolored. I also like to buy books that match the theme of the book I'm making since they often have cool old images or illustrations in them - cook books for spell books, old copies of Dracula or Grimm's fairy tales for vapire spooky themed books, gardening books for 1,000 magical herbs and fungi, animal books for fantastic beasts and where to find them etx
YEA SUMMER!!! We’re so glad you asked your beautiful sis-in-law to create these Hocus Pocus masterpieces! I am SO happy that you and Brittany found each other!💕 And have a spooktacular Halloween! 🎃 👻
Ohhhh. BETHANY. So glad you shared this book with us. I have wanted to make one for my grand daughter. But it looked so hard to do. You made it look so much easier and sooooo well done girl. I think I am gonna do the mirror frame in stone spray. Luv all your diys. Thank you so much. ❤️
Girl u did your thing with the spell book! I love the Hocus Pocus movie! I normally don’t decorate for Halloween but i wanted to try it this year... and what better way to do it by watching my girl Bethany with her awesome diys!! Will be making the spell book🙌🏽😘
☠️⚡🎶"AMUCK, AMUCK, AMUCK"🎶⚡☠️ (that's the only part of the movie that I can remember, the witch running AMUCK). You did a great job and I'm sure that Summer truly appreciates that you did this for her! Please give her some love from Michigan 💜!! We haven't seen her in awhile.
Never clicked so fast. I saw you upload but I was working a 12hr shift and couldnt watch it until now. Hocus Pocus is my favorite favorite movie ever since I was a little girl and love so much my 9yr old daughter loves it just as much! These diys are the only Halloween diys I'm doing. I know where I'm going after CCD today! Thanks so so so much for sharing!
OMG! The book is AMAZING!!!! I’ve been looking for a diy just like this. I tried using air dry clay, and just wasn’t as happy as I wanted to be. I have also tried putting hot glue on parchment paper, and it’s amazing. I was able to lay it on top of what I drew, and peel it right off when the glue dried. I didn’t want to draw on the toilet paper, well I used tissue paper because I had a ton. I just didn’t want to tear the paper. I just love your DIY’s! ❤️
You are SERIOUSLY AMAZING!! I love your channel and have been watching it for a long time and have been so awed and inspired! Thanks for sharing your talent and hauls too! PS...Your baby poochie-pie-kissy-face is just too cute for words!
Bethany, you are SO talented! It’s fun to watch you paint, because you are so good at it. More tutorials with you painting details like that would be great. I can’t believe how you transformed that book, amazing!
