On social security bought a bunch of food at dt on a budget it helps a lot

So believe it or not those cakes are amazing for makjng petit fours. The density makes them easy to cut into thin layers after freezing or refrigerating for an hour then add some simple syrup and jam..what a time saver!

I'm soooooo excited about Christmas stuff!! My Christmas shopping is completely done. Except for stocking stuffers but that's not going to stop me from shopping. There are birthdays, anniversary, friend mail, omgoodness There is always a reason to have great items on hand. 😊❤

When I was little in the mid to late 1950s, my mom would take a stack of books with us if we were going on a long car trip and she'd read to me. This was when you were lucky if your car came with an AM radio. I still have many of the books to this day.

I am going to make a trip to my local dollar tree. I am going to look for the popcorn balls & some books.

The pound cake is dry but try putting a scoop of ice cream on a slice and problem solved

Love the books..I too read to my children before they were born..I would sit on the floor when they were old enough to sit up ..and I used my finger of every word..by the time they were around a year old they were able to comprehend words and read aloud..now everything seems to be electronically taught....a lot of money could be saved by just reading to your child..always a nighty routine..bath..reading and singing as well...makes for a good sleep routine as well ..calm and relaxed babies and toddlers 😊

Not a fan of plantains or grits but my husband loves grits. My mom read to me from the time she found out she was pregnant and I absolutely live to read.

I agree gingerbread items are my favorite I look for them anytime

You can add/sprinkle some sugar water to the cake and wrap it up put in the refrig. This will moisten the cake and will be much better, bakers do this all the time when they have to make many cakes.

I love plantains! I have never seen the garlic flavored. I would try it I see it at my DTree.

Tostones are not sweet, they are made from green plantains, sweet are the ones from ripe plantains

Great haul Noni. Those little craft kits are awesome. Yes those little cakes were dry but a good flavor. Just had it with some coffee. Love the Karma drinks, they run for like $5 in Walmart. Such a nice pop- up book. Will be looking for those.

I love the banana cream pie pudding cups ..My Walmart never has them anymore..I too remember when they were in the little metal cups..also I love popcorn balls..will be looking for both..Walmart sells a large bag of them. But they cost an arm and a leg

Noni! love your hauls and reviews on items you find. I have not tried the loaves you're not the first person to say they are kind of dry, my friend here said the same so I skip them when I walk by. I really like the idea of getting items early for the holidays.

I think everything is always rush rush, including the holidays, then people wonder why summers are so short I'm not ready for fall or winter or Christmas yet

I like the books . My niece at her shower, guests brought a gift and along with the gift a book with an inscription. She had a library in no timt. My niece also always has read and will read to her daughter who is now a toddler.
