Hello I'm new to your channel and just wanted to say I loved these. What great ideas you have. Thank you so much for sharing all your creative ideas. I'm so looking forward to seeing more of your creative Diy's. Oh and just an idea with the arch the last diy maybe if you cut the shape from foam board/cardboard then glue the wood pieces onto it, or use gorilla wood glue and wood filler, wood glue actually becomes one with the wood and the wood filler sticks really well and paints just like wood I love it. Of course the second way you wouldn't need the foam board. I'm just giving you some ideas. Thanks again sweetie I loved all of your Diy's, I really can't just pick one. God bless you.. 🤗 HUGS 🤗

If you look at wood the way you would fabric, there's a warp and a weft to wood too, the sides are like the smooth sides of straws and the ends are like the straw openings, so those will soak up more paint

Hi Melissa, if you make the arch again if you cut the end of the blocks slanted at a 45 degree angle you could interlock the blocks and have no gaps, it would be very time consuming but it would work. You could also fill the gaps with sawdust mixed with strong wood glue. You make a paste with the consistency of thick toothpaste and fill the gaps with it. It will create a much stronger bond than the water putty

Wood has a drinking straw like structures, so when you put your super glue on the ends of your block the wood sucks up/absorbs the glue. But when you put the glue on the sides, tops, or bottoms the glue sticks them together. Think of it like you are trying to glue two bundles of straws together end to end, there is very little surface area for the glue to adhere. The glue will just pass through the straws, you will need a very thick adhesive not to pass through straws. Now if you glue the straws side by side there’s a lot of surface area or the glue stick so the glue doesn’t have to be very thick. Most plants have this straw like structures that take water and nutrients from the roots to the rest of the plant.

Very interesting Analogy I will always think of it like this now. Thank you!

I love the lamp and house number sign. Maybe for the arch u could cut them on an angle so they can curve better. I use my plastic miter box to cut small items. Not bad though. I can see some stain glass behind it. Cut up some tissue paper and glue it on some foam board. 😀

That would have been a great idea to cut them down first. I do have a miter box. Hindsight’s 20/20 😂

I want to make a hanging shelf, but I want to make it, sort of like yours, but instead of making it solid, make it with some of the jenga blocks missing...so it looks like it has holes in it. I need to get some chains, though, or something to hang it with. I want that string of pearls succulent, I want a real one. My son got a pot of various succulents, for his GF , last week, and there was some in that, he is going to try to get it going, and give me some.

I haven’t used gel superglue in a long time. I’ll have to get it a try again

yeah, I will hold firmly for about 20 full seconds before going to the next. I like using gel instead of wood glue for time purposes & gel instead of hot glue for me turn out a cleaner and stronger project. Of course, to each, their own 😁 Another little tip that works for me (depending on the project) I like to set up my woodblocks and glue at the same time then clamp or something heavy on top (depending on project). Then set up my next set of blocks and repeat. By the time I'm done gluing my second set the first is dry. Saves a ton of time in my opinion 😁 Thank you so much for your creative and super inspiring videos❤

@@jillianharte5178 totally agree. I hate using hot glue on the tower blocks they don’t fit together as tightly and definitely not going to hold up

Loved these. A dremel may have been easier for your block cuts.

@@angelajonesdiy oh yeah I gave a cordless and love it. If you dont have it you want to invest in the tool kit. Its green and clear and costs about 10 bucks at wm. It's worth the money. It has like 100 different attachments. I keep mine close to my work desk I use it so much when I'm working and crafting. The wheel attachments cut metal screws if they as re too long. Its great to have.

You gotta use wood glue! It's worth the drying time. You won't be able to pull the blocks apart after it drys.

Normally I love using wood glue and would definitely prefer that option! Next Jenga blocks video I will absolutely be using wood glue 😁
