In March 2011, George Logan, multi-award winning photographer and Born Free friend, joined the Born Free Foundation team in Ethiopia for a very important and special journey -- bringing Dolo the lion to Ensessakotteh where he would have the space and privacy he deserves as well as grass under his paws for the first time.
George's documentation of Dolo's momentous translocation has now been developed into this short video, kindly produced by Duncan Smith.
George Logan is a long-term supporter of Born Free Foundation and the proceeds from his impressive book, "Translocation", which seamlessly and cleverly brings together the wild animals of Africa with the wild landscapes of Scotland, are generously being donated to Ensessakotteh. These (and other animal rescues) are the reason I'm even on the internet... Beautiful souls who got him out of there. I will never understand why people enjoy capturing, torturing and starring at animals.

Keep rescuing everybody. And to the people that do thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart I truly mean that. we all need to support things like this are animals and shelters are in horrible conditions. we've got to speak up keep talking spread the word. without animals and nature we would be nothing.......

The look on Dolo's face almost reduced me to tears. What has he undergone at the hands of those subhuman bastards? The once proud magnificent , regal creature reduced to a pale shadow of itself.

Oh My God!! WHY would a NATIONAL PARK have Dolo tethered to a chain? MY GOD, what kind of park is it... a torture park?! Bless Born Free and all those that make this possible. I would loose all hope in humanity if not for people like you! If I was wealthy (or ever win the lottery), my money is going directly to rescue and care of these magnificent animals. We owe them so much and I pray daily that God makes those that hurt animals pay for it. These are his creatures, just as we are, and we don't have the right to treat them like we do. Yes, I pray God punishes those that hurt them... severely in this or the next life.

I have the honour of being Dolo's adoptive Mum and I will continue to be his Mum for as long as I live. I LOVE this boy SO MUCH and I am SO happy that he is now in a good place with good people AND a partner, the beautiful Safia, for company. One day, I hope to go and visit him in Ethiopia and that would make my dream come true......

I really enjoy these stories, but they could be much better. I'll take a look at the video. If you made the videos/pictures better, you could probably make some money here on RU-vid to help take care of the lions. I hope Dolo doesn't have to live by himself. Love the lions!
