TWO THUMBS UP! Very Creative Way of Painting the Dolphin on A Beautiful Sun Setting Backdrop, & the Cells give it such a Life like Reality, of a Water drenched Dolphin, jumping out of the Ocean! I Loved it, ABSOLUTELY!!!
Love it so. What an innovative idea. I watched the sea horse mini swipe. I loved that one too. It Amazing how artists can inspire one another. Lovely Result!!😊
I Love this! I bought the clear liner so I can't wait to start experimenting with this technique. Dolphins, Unicorns, Angels, and Dragons....Whoop Whoop!
Oooo, unicorns would be so cool too!! I have an in depth tutorial on how to create a stencil out of that liner by using a picture on the computer and sizing it for your canvas. And then print and trace!
@@artbystudioten Yes...I watched that Video and I've been creating my own stencils! I can't believe how expensive stencils cost to buy ready made ones!
This turned out soo cool!! You could also try my “secret sauce” so you could pour it over the dry surface to do your swipes but once it’s dried, it dries clear allowing everything to show through the “sauce”! I came up with this recipe a few months ago while doing the “We Are Family” collaboration. The video is on my channel. I’d LOVE to know if this technique works for you! Much love, Treesie💐🤗💐
Thank you!! I checked out your video with the “secret sauce”! Very cool!! I also saw Anna Blount do a “reveal pour” on her YT channel using straight floetrol on a dried background with her seahorse! So many cool things I want to try!
@@artbystudioten Thank you very much! Yes, since doing that video, I’ve seen several other “recipes”. I tried just Floetrol but it always still dried cloudy for me. Not sure if it’s just my climate or what but it just didn’t give me the results I was looking for. By using the Mix, my paintings dry very glossy, almost like they already have varnish on them. I’ll keep checking your channel because I’d love to see which recipe works best for you! 🤗
I saw.a watercolot artist who was making a painting of jelly fish she used a product I've never seen before called masking fluid, it's a fluid that drys into a rubber consistancy& peels away, Windsor Neuton & others make it she put it in a squeeze bottle to apply it. its layed down over what u dont want paint on, it resists the paint. After it dries it's simply peeled off. I bet it would work well for this technique where the tape was used . No bleeding under the tape.
Yes!!! That stuff is awesome! I’ve used that before with traditional acrylic paintings! I had considered using it I even dug out my old bottle of it when practicing! For the “water splash” part though, I needed something clear that would repel the water so it’d do that splash effect! And I thought about using it to mask off the dolphin itself but I was worried I wouldn’t be able to see my “dolphin” shape beneath the thick pour paint to know where to peel it off. I had to cut the seam since the thick pour paint stretches when dried instead of tearing cleanly. I love using the mask fluid for traditional pour painting since it’s usually much thinner application of paint and will easily tear off. And thank you for sharing!! I love hearing about products and techniques and brainstorming the process! ❤️
@@artbystudioten I also wanted to compliment you work. Ive seen a few other using this effect & love it. This is awesome, my sister is a diver who lives in Key West & I wanna make a small series of ocean life, a dolffin, a seahorse, an octopus, & not sure on the 4th. So I was so happy to see this & hope it helps with my attempt. Michaels had been running an awesome buy 1, get 2 free canvas sale that ended today. So I have canvases & bought the masking fluid 40% off. Art is not a cheap hobby, as I'm sure u know! Thanks for sharing, glad I found ur channel, (subscribing) & happy painting!
This is gorgeous. I did a similar sorta kinda type of pour for a present for my bestie who lost her dogs. Mine was with 2 staffies. It turned out great. I think I’m going to definitely try this technique with the swipe also coz it’s wonderful. Thanks for sharing
Great tip with the glue. I attempted to do a silhouette face with billowing hair a few years ago using rubber spray and it wasn't as successful as I had hoped, so will definitely try again with this method x
Omg, this absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing on facebook. I had to see how you did this and I subscribed to your channel. Can't wait to see more.
Aww, thank you bunches!! I was super primped about this one! I think I might try the opposite method next time, like pour the whole thing, then paint my background! Just for fun!
Oh my god! I love dolphins 🐬 my born spirit animal … i like to ask , if you get to see this message . But first , i like to say that **YOUR Awesome! 🤩 now, i like to know what did you use to mix the paint with to make those bubbles effect? Thanks
Well, I have watched both and, just as you say, there are really good parts on both, so choosing a favourite is hard! I think, add the water line to the bottom of this one, and we’d have a winner! I want to do this so badly but both these videos go too quickly for me… I am hoping that you might do a detailed, step by step tutorial for us?? Pretty please, with sugar on top? Hehehe ♥️♥️🇦🇺
I think I’ll definitely do a final dolphin pour tutorial hopefully combining the best of both!! And I’ll make it more detailed on each of the steps!! ❤️
Well I have just about watched 90% of your videos tonight and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS you have done a wonderful job BEAUTIFUL art work Now I have a question..😊...if I used paint with silicone in it and DO NOT USE all the paint ...will the silicone last in paint or do I have to put more silicone in next painting I want to do??? 👍🇦🇺👍🇦🇺👍🇦🇺
That is a GREAT question! I haven’t experimented with that yet but now I want to make a video testing it out! So I do know that I use very little silicone with very little stirring to mix it in. More silicone equals smaller cells and or lacing. More stirring equals smaller cells and or lacing. Also the quantity of paint your mixing it into matters too. Like if you’re doing 2oz of mixed paint with 1 drop of silicone with 2-3 stirs, then that’s probably mixed throughout. But if you have 10 oz of paint in a big cup with 3-4 drops of silicone with 3 stirs, I’m not sure how much the paint at the bottom of the cup has silicone in it, ya know? So then that paint after setting for a while could probably get a new round of silicone because that bottom portion never got much? For my workflow, I mix large quantities of paint and then use smaller cups to portion out the amount I think I’ll need for that painting and then add my silicone. That way if I need more paint for that same painting, I just use a small portion and add silicone to it. Then my leftover paint is silicone free until I use it for the next painting. But if you have leftover paint with silicone that you want to use, I would do I micro test swipe on some cardboard and see if it gets any cells. If not, then I’d add more silicone! But only a small amount with very little stirring! Sorry that was such a long answer! You’ve got my brain churning! Definitely want to do a video on that! I have two other silicone experiment videos but those are about amounts and stirring and where to apply the silicone, base or swipe color. Thank you for the comment and the question!! ☺️
@@artbystudioten yes the 2 videos you talk about I watched them tonight ...also the big & small ceil video 👍 In another video I watched of yours ...you mentioned the white cells...I get them but I don’t put the colour in that is around it I use another colour that I have used in painting to make it look like another cell ...I THINK that was on the big pour you did ...thanks for answering me...looking forward to your tests 👍🇦🇺👍🇦🇺👍
