I’ve long since suspected that McDaniel is out of his depth. Winning masks a lot of deficiencies. I think he lucked into the job because no one wanted to touch the team after the Flores debacle. The league has him figured out for the most part, but he also outsmarts himself in those rare moments he has the upper hand.

Leading the NFL in negative penalty yards while only scoring 70 points all year, they'll be no pathway for success until one or the other changes.

Def not a happy times combo, Chris... sad part is if they clean this up there still plenty more than need to be fixed too.

@AcePerHead Hard to get everything right. Even KC is relying on Spag's Defense. But if they weren’t the worst penalized team in the league while also amongst the lowest-scoring, they would at least be giving themselves a chance just like last year. Deep down, I'm sure you'd prefer them to lose out the rest of the season until Grier is gone, so it's hard for us to agree on the fixes.

@@c2jones I sorta' do hope that and sorta' don't.... but I think I've been ultra rational over the years... and that's has been big reason for my accuracy. Clearly, pens and points play a role... pens are a clear thing.... points though isn't just about point or no points, it's about why or why not points or no points and that is a nuanced conversation.... so, even though we argree on pens and points... points come or dont come for many reasons, so that would mean there is more than one reason why we aren't scoring points. I've talked about many reasons for a few seasons... I'd assume some must have some credence since I've called it pretty well for a few seasons and ALL these reason have the genesis of Grier's fingerprints.... so, I'm not sure what we don't agree on, sir.
@c2jones
@c2jones 6 часов назад
@AcePerHead Only the details and specifications of those details. This cannot be fixed through any singular unit of the team no matter how dramatic the change because there's setbacks with plural elements. Personnel, sure, but discipline, accountability, preparedness, and scheme are all relevant. The common denominator for you is Grier (rightly so), but surely McDaniel bears responsibility as well. Moreover, you also want to tell Ross how much he can be involved in his team. No businesses, even football teams, will totally give away the farm. He's been criticized for being too out of the loop and yet some say too much. He cannot win. In truth, he's somewhere in the middle and I'm fine with that. I would never want a GM (especially someone like Grier) having total control with my blank check. People like Ross didn't get where he is by being that imprudent. Is losing out to clean the slate going to necessarily better things with their terminations? Maybe not. Could regress things. Sometimes it's wiser to tweak. Problem is, these fundamentals are too skewed to have confidence in that.

Curtis, to be fair if you look at the all-22 there were some opportunities for Hill and Waddle but Huntley just doesn’t have the anticipation or confidence to pull the trigger. Even though he actually had time in the pocket. I thought getting Jonnu open was a good strategy because those are easy throws to a big target 18:30 . What killed us were the penalties and fumbles. We played like a badly coached team with no discipline. We should’ve played like the Steelers last night: ball control offense. But the Steelers don’t commit penalties and are a fundamentally sound tough team. That’s the difference.
@AcePerHead
@AcePerHead 7 часов назад
I agree there are always opportunities.... but those opportunities we see on film depends on the QB throwing them. The OC needs to understand what the QB can do and create the pass game around that. For me, the gameplan to make Huntley be HIS best... not Tua's or whoevers wasn't there. He has a slowish release and doesn't throw with anticipation... he was a practice squad QB for a reason... he's a mobile QB with some exp... McDaniel didn't build around this... it was Huntley peg in te Tua hole... same happened with Skylar.... McDaniel isn't flexible in many ways. So many options to get some passing game going by getting the ball in the Wrs hands in high% trhows for Huntlely wit a the addition of the run game... fumbles, pens and missed FG hurt.. lts were dead until 22 secs then they rebound after a fumble, pens, and terrible O half... the OC adapted and worked the pass game around Ricardson's strengths...

@AcePerHead If they suddenly had the best-rated OL in the league by the next game, it wouldn't have a damn thing to do with their discipline, accountability and lack of preparation. Nor the incomptence at the coaching capacity. They would run the ball and protect better, but not nearly enough to make them elite. It's the fundamentals, my brother. There's no substitute.

How ridiculously incompetent is the coach to not realize how good Jalen Wright is right now . How much freaking experience do you need to recognize shit like this????

Good program Curtis, I’m so disappointed with the Dolphins, a friend of mine calls it a circus. I used to enjoy watching it. I find myself not enjoying the game as I used to. What a shame. I hear so many others feel the same. Oh well it is what it is.
@AcePerHead

For me, I just enjoy the game and evaluating accurately... I can watch other teams and enjoy.... I can watch my team win or lose and enjoy. I believe we'll get it right at some point... and if my eval skills get better every season, then I'll see that right build early and then I'll have fun twatching the game I love AND the team I love at once... i will happen... And I plan to see it ASAP... along the way I plan to see ( and report as long as I have this gig) when I see the wrong build, and wrong players.... as well as the good ones. I'm a dolphins fan till I die.... hopefully the right build comes before that :)

Presnap penalties and no vision for the last drive at all. Like literally they had no idea how to run it. The colts ran at least 4 plays we should have and they did not have Hill or Waddle. No end arounds or trick a roo gingerbread nothing. We suck and the talent in the rooms are to arrogant to play to win. Thank you Curtis

I think Henry would have worked well with Connor and Hunt, but not with the 2024 OL... he should have buffed this OL and DI spot.... then if that Henry would have been sweet!

This just goes to show that all the Tua haters were wrong. Tua is a 10-game winner buy himself. Definitely, Griers greatest pick in nearly 30 years of being with the franchise. I'm praying we fire grier, hire a football operations guy and let him hire the gm and decide on coach
@AcePerHead

I think Tunsil and Hunt and Minkah are better picks... Tua can play, but has a fatal flaw of injuries... that we didn't protect, but instead accentuated. Kid could have been much better and less injured if we weren't incompetent. A shame we kinda' blew some of the 2019 draft and then all the picks we got we wasted most.... we were set up so well, but our execution is so poor.

Proven wrong? Tua’s averaged 15 points a game in his last 6 games. He’s been terrible…
@AcePerHead
@AcePerHead 6 часов назад
@@ccrr8029 @ccrr8029 Well you could say that... but the QB is the most dependent position in football... so, I'd say how's the framework? How much is him and how much is the framework.... clearly he plays a part, but how much do you give the framework? How many QBs would thrive in this framework? Of all the top QBs how does their framework compare? So, for me the points are a product of the Staff and total sum of offensive players with the QBs the position that raise the ceiling the most and the OL raising the floor the most and raising the ceiling some, but the WR and QBs raise it more. So, that would be my evlaution framework. Tua isn't elite, but this offensive framework isn't even avg. Skills are great but ultra dependent on the OL and QB....

McDaniel is doing nothing to make it easier on the QB's. Why are there no easy checkdowns? Why are all the receivers 15-20 yards downfield being blanketed in zone coverage? You can't get Tyreek open quickly on a few shallow crossers and get a few easy balls in his hands? Even with Tua, he was calling the same plays proven not to work against the same Buffalo defense. We'll have to listen to pricks talking about 'accountability' all week, then watch the same penalties and fundamental errors against Arizona.

Tue got hurt, means the other players who are key to the success of this team go on vacation. This isn't just bad playing, this is bad management and coaching of the team. I say, eliminate these people in charge. They do not know what they are doing. This owner is also to blame, did you not see this coming? Explain this to your fan base. This team is run like the government of Cuba. No action, no thinking, no benevolence toward its fans. A total Collapse.
