I don't like projecting real world ideals onto anime, thats what you would do with a live action movie. But imho Domestic Kanojo is a really good anime that uses the strengths of japanese animation, all the characters and worlds are different from the reality so we can use it as an outlet for our dreams and desires. Because we know that its not the real world we can interpret everything we want into it. I think it's a real unique anime that, from an objective point of view without judging the morality of it, shows what this medium is capable of.

But even trash can have a higher/lower rank that other trash. Take Eromanga Sensei as where to start at the ABSOLUTE BOTTOM of the trash heap.

Kind of the same boat but over 3 days. I then went and re-watched the anime. Twice. The best moment for me was ep.2 where Rui finds out Natsuo likes Yo Hasukawa's works and says 'ah that pretentious intellectual that's all about love angst stories', and then we find out he's their literature teacher! It just killed me. The skit moment that followed was a masterpiece. I felt the manga ending was a bit rushed, but other than that... very compelling, gripping story with lots of character development. Once you reach the end, you realize that all of them were really children at the beginning of the story.

Until fucking Rui dumped him even though yesterday (prior to the situation) she said she was gonna stay next to him. They were fighting because they felt their relationship feeling rocky, unstable, and toxic. But even though all was going on, both still agreed to keep pushing and they even slept together with both of them saying I Love you. I guess Rui just pussied out even though she said she was gonna keep pushing for the relationship (normally I would want the relationship to end of it gets toxic, duh. But Rui and Natsuo agreed to keep going and to fight thru, which is why I hated what Rui did by just dumping him by ditching him and going back to USA.)
