@@eleanorhogan8643 lol I laughed too ... I think it was just unexpected is why it's so funny ... Not laughing at what the psa is about cuz I get the message basically doing nothing is like helping them abuse the other person.
So to the point I pulled over on 21 st ave West when I watched a woman being hit by a man.I got out told her to get in my car.No fear ,we must help. The abused was shocked but was not focused on me.Drove her to a safe place
WOW this hits home 😢 my ex used to beat me so badly and no one would ever help! That being said I could have just left but when you're in it you just can't see straight.
@D Thizz Yes, this Advert is so disgustingly one-sided and offensive. It even suggests men are all complicit with the guy giving his bat. Why didn't the woman get up and help her so-called "sister" then? D.V. is not a gendered issue.
You want so badly to scream what's happening but fear what would happen if someone found out. The shame, possible blame, having to go alone. It's so easy to say I would do this or that from the outside but it's different when you're in it
But yeah your pretty much correct I got my face broke (nose, eye socket etc) in broad daylight in KFC when i was 22 by my ex (who's dead now ) . blood everywhere ...nobody did anything ...
“As my husband smashed his fist into my face repeatedly, one of my neighbors was at the door, holding a crowbar. But my battered body was going limp and I could only stare in horror as he happily handed the crowbar to my husband and said "Glad I could help."” - random reddit twosentencehorror inspired by this ad
When I left my partner I was working out side home working night fill for Coles. I would come home at 12.30 at night. Kids where sorted house was clean kids cloths was ready. Craigie Gillies would set his alarm for 4 am. He did not have too be at work till 6am. It was a 15 min drive to work.
When I had finally had enough after 14years ROCKELA gave him a manage position. My daughter was 15 years old and just left school. My 11 year son was left in Fanning Ave Grafton Nsw his mum and dad would drive into town buy my little man a pizza. And head off.
@@Hazza4257 Pretty much. (I mean, I could, but...) There are folks here that would overlook the final message in print and focus on the man handing the bat to the gal's abuser.
@@averythecoolcat yes, we definitely have a high impact approach in Australia. I like it tho - I reckon it’s got to be the most effective approach. Domestic violence, drink driving, drug abuse etc - the reality is pretty shocking so the ads should reflect it. No point dancing around the truth. Have a look at this drink driving one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g2X9Q-Xre_Q.html
Ofc nobody does, australian psa's are all about the shock factor Gets people in line once they realise how terrible something is. A great example is almost any anti speeding or drink driving psa in australia. Lots of them showcase stages car crashes, dead looking people, surgeries, people crying, gore and otherwise shocking things. It helps prove how devastating your actions really can be And in this, its saying if you kmow about an abusive relationship and dont speak up, you are quite literally giving the abuser more power to abuse the victim, but if you did speak up, the abuser would be in jail by now
