How can they still have a trial without the alleged victim. What about the 6th amendment the right to face your accuser at trial doesn't that still apply?????
I was never able to afford an attorney. My spouse made the lion's share of the income and kept it from me, so our income put me out of the bracket to receive a pro-bono legal aid attorney. Also, trauma bonding with a sadistic, covert abuser is real and I really wanted to save my marriage. Now, 10 years after the first order of protection and separation, 9 months after NC, I'm finally getting enough brain space to realize how the abuser had my mind so twisted into knots that I couldn't see reality for what it was. I SHOULD HAVE PROSECUTED FULLY IMMEDIATELY. Over such a long period of time, I've lost most of the evidence I did have as the abuser has covertly re-entered my home countless times stealing everything they can, but I have no evidence it was them, but who else would it be? Thieves break in and take your tv, not your 1 file folder on DV or other things that won't be noticed till you go to use them and they're gone, that's gaslighting. IF YOU ARE A VICTIM, DON'T PULL THE PLUG. THERE ARE OTHER ANSWERS AND LOTS OF HELP AND YOU NEED TO BE THERE FOR YOUR KIDS. STAY OFF! OF PSYCH MEDS AND GET LOTS OF SUPPORT FOR YOURSELF SO YOU CAN BE HEALTHY AND AWARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN. In my case, my abuser waited until both of my parents were deceased and even had a hand in making that happen as well. IF YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH A HIGH LEVEL NARCISSISTIC ABUSER GET OUT NOW AND BE SURE TO TESTIFY. DON'T LIVE IN FEAR. THERE ARE WAYS YOU CAN HIDE AFTERWARDS AND START YOUR NEW LIFE. BE BLESSED!
I'm not protecting him this time I'm not getting my own attorney I'm actually going to talk to the prosecutor about the situation and recommend and require him to get help and still thinking about others programs such as work releases for him to pay child support
