I made a mistake in the video: For all rotations with Calcharo, you want to use his Heavy Attack: Mercy before using his Resonance Liberation in order to activate his passive which gives him a 10% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus and procs the Void Thunder 5-pc set effect which gives him Electro DMG Bonus when he uses a Heavy Attack or Resonance Skill. So for the rotations just switch the heavy attack at the end and start with it instead. Sorry about that!
I think its better if u use the first hit of his skill instead of the heavy attack before the liberation, its shorter on animation time and u wont be using it during his liberation time so it will cool down by the time u get out of it, dont u think? Or do u have to use the whole 3 hits skill to activate the set?
@@mjesticbeats7097 I think heavy attack does more damage than the elemental skill so you most likely want to use heavy attack instead of resonance skill even though you'll save a second with the resonance skill. Not sure, will have to do some testing.
@@rasu02 You should be switching out to Verina or Mortief or Ice Chick or the other healer, during the heavy attack animation to get the buffs up, for when you use his ultimate
Not really sure if this is worth mentioning here or not, but very likely you gonna wanna learn how to maximize your other char's potential too in order to make faster swaps. When using Sanhua there's almost no reason not to open with her E before using R and detonating, as they are both generally always avail with any energy regen. You can R almost immediately after E. On Verina, making sure to blow through her Forte whether you need the heals or not builds her Concerto much faster, easily done by doing the midair attack. Spending all this downtime on your non dps will realllllly slow things down.
I find his best non-ult combo is not to weave normals between attacks, but only weave it between the second and third skill. The time extension to do a normal attack between the first two is just bot worth it. You wind up losing overall time despite the animation recovery of the first skill. It's much better to just skill twice, normal, then skill as the basic bnb. However, if you have to dodge, using the normal to squeeze in damage before the dash cancel is a better option to keep the damage high
If you're wearing thundering echo set, you want to use the heavy attack before going into his ultimate to activate the set, so it effects the first Death Messenger that comes out.
@@markjeremiah5869 Calcharo has 2 different HA's depending on the form he's in, in his normal form it's called "MERCY" and in his Deathblade State it becomes "Death Messenger" if you look at his Circuit Forte and look at the second node, that only applies to Mercy, that's why it's important to do that heavy attack when you have 3 Extermination Order before going into Deathblade State. So you get that 15% DMG BUFF for his ultimate.
I use lingering tune set, one of the 3 cost is atk so CR/element/atk/atk/atk, in ToA both calcaro weapon and echos can be used for jiyan for the second team (only one elemental i swap electro into wind instead) thats not best build but definitely very cheap and most lingering tune echoes 3 and 1 cost can have molodies set (BiS for sub dps) or rejuvinating set (BiS for healer) its very efficient early farm for me to get 2~3 team ready
The only reason why I play WuWa because of him, however they say he was nurf badly and can be replaced easily with other dps. Now I got jinshi and I was surprised on how good she is paired with yuanwu and verina I played most content like a breeze. However I will still build Calcharo once I finished halfway for Jinshi.
Just a btw - at the end probably should have done the display on a different boss since I'm pretty sure the 2 electro bosses have higher resistance to it. Big number go boom.
Great video. I would just like to add that his BiS Echo is actually The Flaustist. After lvl 60 his dps is better just summoning The Flautist and keeping his rotation than losing a lot of rotation time as summoned Tempest Mephis.
nice video. i just have 1 question. does char regain resonance energy when they are off field? for example in the last fight (with sanhua), when calcharo is first swapped out, his resonance energy is around 50%, but after verina->sanhua->calcharo swap back in, his resonance energy is full.
For the whale team swap Sanhua for jianxin because calcheros basic attacks during his resonance liberation all scale with RL damage, and jianxin’s outro skill provides great RL damage buff
I use mortefi instead of the ice chick and kill them much bosses much faster. The damage boost from verina plus mortefi makes calchero melt bosses. I kill them before my ultimate even finishes
honestly great video, but I would also use like other characters as sub dps if I were to maximize the damage output, like verina outro to delete chunks of health, then have like the monkey echo on other characters that could easily 1 cycle bosses very damn fast by breaking the bar and calcharo spam
For the echoes I think it’s all about preference, I agree with the safer option but I like a safer option since I have varena from the free five star selection
Recently, everyone's been saying that Lustrous Razor is better than Verdant Summit. However how does that Math work? How does a bit of extra attack and 14% lib dmg bonus beat 49% crit dmg bonus and 24% heavy atk dmg bonus?
Well to start, Calcharo’s Heavy Attack: Death Messenger, which is a large portion of his damage during his rotation, doesn’t deal heavy attack damage, it deals resonance liberation damage which means that VS heavy attack dmg bonus doesn’t affect his damage numbers whereas lustrous razor’s resonance liberation dmg buff does. Also, there is a translation error with Lustrous Razor: it can get up to 3 stacks not two, resulting in a 21% resonance liberation dmg buff. You can check this video to verify: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rCnTh9UmjOE.html
I’ve heard some theory crafters // CCs (like iwintolose, and others that have featured on his streams) talk about Calcharo’s resonance liberation animation canceling by swapping to sub dps, to maximize dps during Cal’s long ult animation attacks.. the quickly swapping back to Cal to continue his ult combo until the next long animation. It’s really fast swapping between characters. I hope I explained this well enough that it makes sense, but Anyways I was wondering if you heard of it and your take on if it’s even worth it with the late-game boss content since dps is so important??? Or if it’s just too extra??
I dont think it’s a good idea to swap off Calcharo during his resonance liberation because when you switch off he loses his damage buffs from sanhua, mortifi, etc. outro skill. When you use his resonance liberation just spam basic attacks until it runs out without swapping
Is Dauntless Evernight the second best 4-star option with keeping f2p in mind since the other options are gacha and the dauntless can be chosen from the free weapon selector box? Great video btw, can’t wait for that yinlin guide. 😃
Dauntless Evernight loses in terms of damage to the 3* Broadblade of Night because Dauntless Evernight has a def% main stat. Broadblade of Night has an Atk% main stat and a practically identical effect so you’re much better off using Broadblade of Night if you don’t have Autumntrace or Helios Cleaver
YES! shes actually really good with calcharo because her outro skill gives resonance liberation dmg bonus. Make sure you charge up her concerto energy before swapping so you get the outro skill on Calcharo
sanhua gives the next character that swaps in (calcharo) a 38% basic atk dmg bonus with her outro skill. This means that Calcharo's basic attacks during his Resonance Liberation state will do 38% more damage. Yinlin could replace Sanhua once she releases but I heard that because of some changes since CBT2, Yinlin may be better as a main DPS character rather than a support unit for Calcharo. We will have to wait and see when she releases to see where she fits best
@Oct-yd3os sanhuas buff does work on Calcharos ultimate since his basic attacks aren't converted into resonance liberation damage. The only attacks during his Deathblade Gear state that counts as Resonance Liberation damage is the first burst of damage when you activate it and Death Messengers. I think you are right on using Heavy Attack: Mercy before using calcharo resonance liberation for that damage buff. My bad!
Something that also needs to be said about Sanhua. Her charged attack can be swap cancelled, just like how Calcharo's charged attack can too. So if you play things right, you can swap between characters as their charged attack animations play out for even more dps.
Well seeing all this.... I still prefer thunder mephis over tempest coz i do have to farm for calcharo boss mats anyway so why bother about slight better upgrade😮😮😮
About the Tempest and Thundering part aside from the electro dmg buff for basic attacks Doesn't Tempest only raise Electro DMG only for the *Heavy ATK* ? But for Thundering, it raises the Electro DMG for the *Resonance Liberation* which is what we mainly use for Calcharo? So it would be better to use the *Thundering Mephis* because it will give more damage to the Resonance Liberation and because the "Heavy ATK" that we see in the liberation is also a part of the Resonance Liberation DMG itself?
tempest raises overall electro damage, including heavy attacks Thundering gives you a higher damage buff yes since it gives you Electro DMG bonus and Resonance Liberation DMG bonus, but like I said in the vid it requires you to fully commit to the 6-hit attack string of thundering mephis to get those buffs, which can be troublesome in higher difficulty content. Whereas with Tempest Mephis, you still get the Electro DMG bonus with its 2-hit attack string, which is much shorter and consistently easier to get Hope this helps
