@@deznutes6689yes there is . Anything contemporary you jump on the bus and ride . Then when the ride stops you're off to the next bus. Youre not invested in the evolution of the artist.
Pop is the safest genre to start out in I think, so if you 'pop' him in that category as a starting point then he can expand, grow and continue to experiment and branch out from there? Although he's already experimental with his sound, which is really fun and captivating! Just a theory though, who really knows *shruggity shrug*
They didn’t. His first album of demos was pop/indie/r&b with a little hip hop vibe… they haven’t controlled his music at all. That’s all him. There’s a documentary on Hulu well an episode about him on Hulu and how he got his start and was filmed while he wrote his second or first official album I should say… and he recorded it himself… mostly in his living room. Check your facts kid.
Why do ppl always assume that if an artist changes their sound that it’s because someone is forcing them to? It’s called evolution. It’s called growing up. It’s called life. That’s what happens when you grow up… you leave the things behind that no longer fit who you are or where you want to go. And that’s what he did. He’s a musician first and foremost.. and obviously he made the right choice because his rap didn’t get him noticed. His demos did. And that’s because they’re WAY better than this and he got really good at mixing his music and playing guitar and piano and he made music that he was inspired to make. Not music he thought would make him popular. N it worked.
