DOMINICA: 2023 Ole Mas Festival in Pointe Michel 

This is a little taste of the Ole Mas Festival in Pointe Michel, Dominica which happened on Saturday January 23, 2023, Jouvay style. Pure vibes!! I disciplined myself to focus on photography but near the end I just had to shoot a little video. You’ll see their distinctive ban mauvé “Darkies” from La Plaine in all black with whips, as well as other ban mauvé, lapo kabwit bands (the cover photo is Chou Poule from Roseau), a couple variations of sensay including some from Grand Bay, Bwa Bwa (moko jumbies), a big bottom ladies band called Bacchanal Women and a whole lot of wonderful energy. There was more but this was all I was able to capture in video as I was in full photography mode. It was a memorable experience. I will definitely come back!
