Thanks for posting….loved your trip video as it took my back to my previous trips to CR❤️❤️❤️….the several times I went with buddies on surf 🏄🏻‍♂️ trips where we just stayed up and down the west coast, your experience made me want to explore the interior much more….

Our pleasure! We're really glad you enjoyed the video. Our first time in Costa Rica we spent a few mornings learning to surf. By the time we started getting the hang of it it was time to go home. This trip we didn't try to surf at all due to Jamie's back issues, but next time we make it to Costa Rica, there will definitely be some more surfing in the plans. We just hope we didn't forget everything we learned!

It sure is 😍 All I could think about standing at the top of that waterfall was how terrible it would be hiking back down that mountain if I re-injured my back. It was probably the right decision 😂

Great stuff! From the waterfalls to the caves I remember in Geography class Costa Rica has the highest quality of living in Central America. I’d go there. I’m intrigued by Panama as well because of the Panama Canal. Florida is jungle-like in parts of the state, but that’s jungle by definition there.

Thanks so much for watching. We love that the country protects its natural resources. The ability to be out in nature enjoyed the forests, rivers/waterfalls and beaches is rejuvenating for us. Also, we read that 99% of their energy is renewable (hydroelectric and geothermal). We'd really like to visit Panama as well!

There are some very massive resorts and some very modern and also huge shopping malls. All brands and modern luxuries fully available. I live in Costa Rica.

Yeah, we understand that they do exist, but we never saw a single one of either during our two visits to Costa Rica. We love that about Costa Rica. Here in Florida (and in many of the other popular tropical vacation destinations we've visited), it seems that all you see is big resorts and shopping malls, and you definitely do not get that feel in Costa Rica, at least not anywhere that we've been in Costa Rica. We really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

Thank you so much! We really did love that AirBNB as well. Jamie said she got the tan chord in a store in downtown St. Pete, but she's been back a few times and they haven't had it in stock. You can put whatever stone in the cord, she said she thinks she had an opal stone in it during this video.

I really liked your videos in Costa Rica. You can see dantas (tapir) in a lot if places, but Corcovado National Park would be the best place in my opinion.

Thanks! We definitely stayed at some really great AirBNBs on this trip. While Costa Rica is far from the cheapest country to travel in, it's still pretty great to be able to stay in such nice places for such reasonable prices.

Nice views as well. Florida doesn’t have that kind of elevation…lol Nice Airbnb place as well I need to get with the times as far as Airbnb. I still do the traditional motel..etc when I travel.

right??? Anytime a destination has beaches and mountains nearby is a plus for us. Airbnb has allowed us to stay in some pretty unique places...but sometimes we' ve had to drive on some pretty sketchy roads to get there LOL we can understand how a motel or hotel would be preferred for easy access.

What an adventure you guys were on! So many extreme activities - I think I would have chickened out of jumping from the waterfall too and I don't even have an excuse haha. What month were you there? Is the rain normal for that time of year? I would definitely enjoy the nature scenery and hiking - even in the rain!

Yeah, Skylar told me we were going to be doing a lot of adventurous things when he planned this trip, but it was definitely still a lot more than I was expecting😂 We visited in late November, which was the tail end of the rainy season. It's definitely pretty normal to get rain most days that time of the year.

Great series of videos. I wish I knew about that hotel at the end of my trip. Our trip was perfect except for our last stay before flying out. 3000 steps I can do but muddy, random, steep,,, I might be past that thrill level.

Yeah we were kinda wishing we would have tacked on extra day onto the end of our trip to fully enjoy that last AirBNB. We've even looked into how much they rent for by the month (it's not too bad). Sorry to hear that your Costa Rica trip ended on a bit of a sour note. Overall though, San Jose is still our least favorite part about Costa Rica, so if we get a longer term rental there, it will probably be up in the mountains somewhere, with another 1 or 2 night stay in the high-rise before flying back home.

@@Explorcation On a good note, every dog we met was super friendly and wanted pets. All the people were so kind and helpful. We did all guided tours and every guide and driver was excellent. Our cottage in San Jose was like a prison with bars on the windows and a pretty rough neighborhood so we chose not to venture too far into it. I’m sure it was fine as it looked like Miami but we suddenly lost our adventure spirit after the waterfall repel. lol.

That is a cloud forest. Parque Nacional los Quetzales and the animal on the signs is a Tapir

"We're getting pretty high now."....("Not from the Coca plant"). Hahahahaha! What a lovely way to spend this snowy/icy Saturday morning in Tennessee! Loved this trip with y'all--the entire video and mini-vacation! Especially enjoyed the rappelling part beside the raging waterfalls!...I used to rappel off cliffs in my younger days so that really looked like fun! Your editing skills are top notch...beautiful scenery and interesting information all along the way. Great vid, Skylar and Jamie! 🙂

LOL yeah we though that we better clarify on that one. We honestly never thought we'd be to into repelling considering the overlap with rock climbing (which we already do), but we couldn't pass up the chance to repel next to a huge waterfall, and we're glad we didn't! We definitely will be looking into other repelling adventures now. Of ones you did when you were younger, did you have a favorite?

@@Explorcation Hubs and I lived in Italy for 3 years way back when. He was military and his squad opened up rappelling exercises to spouses. We were in northern Italy in the foothills of the Dolomites, so lots of fun cliffs there. I am a widow now so it brings back sweet memories. 🙂

@@Explorcation we've gone every year we been in Tampa the last three or four years now. Got hooked watching the show about them on the National Geographic channel...love the rehab work they do and the whole way they help out all the critters.

@@Explorcation I highly recommend to take the Behind the Scenes Manatee Critical Care Tour...we did that and the Rhino Encounter and they were so worth it! We plan on the Penguin encounter next time down. They do some amazing things there for the animals!
