Funny thing is I actually think Cody COULD beat Dom but won't. No one at team alpha male is smart enough to gameplan for Dom. Along with the fact that Cody is inexperienced and has won all his fights by early knockout. So likely, he'll have the arrogance to go in there swinging. Now tristar, AKA or Jackson's Cody would be a different story.

Cody's got fast hands and forsure he's got knockout power but dom is still lightyears away from Cody. He's got a lot of work to do if he even wants to think about stepping in the octo with Dom lol.

@@jamieverhoeven1064 You're not interpreting those statistics correctly. It says Cruz landed 88 Significant strikes out of 298 giving him 30.2%. Garbrandt landed 68 out of 198 giving him 34.1%. So right there, we can see for all of Cruz's hard work, he only landed 20 more strikes than Garbrandt who ultimately concluded with the higher accuracy. You're also ignoring Knockdowns and Takedowns in the fighting stats. We can see, Garbrandt had 2 Knockdowns and 1 Takedown. Cruz had nothing for either category so he lost in both categories. The judges probably a conduct more extensive analysis but from this analysis alone, you can see Cruz only won 1 of 4 categories. His 20 Significant Strike lead, wasn't enough to offset what he lost in accuracy, knockdowns and takedowns. Simple as that.

@@Paregoric That's incorrect. Dom is 22-3-0, Cody is 12-3-0. Cody has been KO'd 3 times, Dom has been KO'd once, lost via decision, and tapped early in his career. Dom's ratio is much better, but he's been in more fights so we'll see.
Dominick Cruz is the only fighter/Analyst that used his platform to hype his own fight, and trash his opponent, and still keep his job and keep going as one of the best analyst. Him and Paul Felder are awesome
jaja caraway has been ducking him and i think sterling is an easier fight for him than mizugaki or almeida prbbly al j ducked him too and hell never fight faber, him vs dillashaw right now makes sense, winner gets the titleshot, but i dont see cruz loosing the belt as long as he stays healthy

Dominick Cruz is the smartest fighter/person in the entire ufc roster, this guy expresses himself and fights in a completely different way than anyother fighter, really smart dude.
It’s actually sad. Because then TJ took years off Cody’s life, and ruined his career because he took PEDs and KOd Cody while he was on the sauce. Now Cruz has been injured and gone. TJ took the sauce and is gone with USADA suspension, and Cody’s chin is shot from taking two brutal KOs, and took another one to Munoz after TJ. Sad
Dominick is more articulate and piercing than anyone in the UFC. Rational, extremely knowledgeable, and precise. He raises the public's respect for UFC. But I do love a good knockout ;)
He's undefeated and most of the other guys have already been beaten by Cruz. I'm not saying he deserves the shot, but how many other people would you put in line ahead of him?
TJ, - frankie edgar will probably be dropping to this division shortly as well. But i do think that Cody has a good chance against Dom. His punch speed is much quicker than probably anything dom has seen... and he has KO power. If FABER could knock dom down 3 times... i'm sure garbrandt could knock him down a few times.
45th President A rude awakening is what The Dominator got last night. Guy couldn't take Garbrandt down and couldn't get even one decent shot on him. Cody dropped Cruz like 5 times and didn't look in danger once during the fight.

Garbrandt just needs to take his time and get seasoned. the way they're building it already... cody is moving too fast and might lose if he goes too fast. basically what I see is that cody is the better fighter, overall. like once he hits his peak, Dominick wont be able to touch him. the problem is, he's trying to move too fast. and Dominick being the intelligent champion that he is... will try to take him out before he peaks, before he is seasoned. basically he's green and will be plucked before he has a chance to fully ripen. it's the same thing that happened with mayweather and canelo. a lot of the great champs do this. they see a young fighter that scares them and knows they have the potential to beat them. so instead of letting them fully mature, they pluck them when they are still too weak and inexperienced. so whether that happens or not, its just going to affect the record. point is, once cody is fully seasoned and in his prime he will be lightyears above anything cruz ever was.

I still think Cruz is a fantastic watch. Point fighter, technical, runner, whatever you call him, we need those kind of fighters to contrast the possibilities of martial arts. Cruz is still on another level
no one has beat him in the ufc. he never lost his belt by another fighter, he had to relinquish it due to an injury. and whe. he came back he took his belt back. Pound for pound the best fighter in the ufc.
Can't wait to see who Cruz fights next. Also, it's funny to see how opinions have changed on Cruz over the years. And how there's always a Conor fan commenting on any mma video or article for some reason.
Cody got injured and never was the same. But the night Cody fought Dominic Cody was like Deadpool in the nuclear reactor fight vs Wolverine. He was everywhere, hitting with everything and pretty hard to locate. Dominic got Deadpooled.
Dominick Cruz has a huge potential limited by his body. I will look forward to seeing his fights. We will see his wit maximizing his body each and every time.
Coming back to this and seeing all the comments acting like Cruz was going to do anything to Cody. It’s such a hilarious time. Cruz got battered and humiliated.
