Aethernomad the mod creator of Hellenika has relaunched his discord. Going to stream a bit of hellenika here to celebrate :D The new Hellenika Discord: / discord
I really love Hellenika mod. It is by far my favorite mod for dominions. Although not balanced, all the factions are just so interesting, just figuring them out is so fun!
Thanx for doing this. Hellenika was one of my goto mods for Dom5. This scratches an itch I didn't know I had. It'd be interesting to see what happens with either this modpack or Sombre's on your map with the cups (sorry, don't recall the name off the top of my head). edit: I know it's not possible to use this mod on your map yet. I meant when it's possible. Bethel Shem is more about Cabala and Judaism than Christianity IMO. Though the two faiths are so intertwined it's hard to tell the difference. 1:14:00 Daphne du Maurier's "The Birds" in a game! Recommend the story and the movie. Seriously terrifying.
one of my favourite of the hellenika factions. A couple of things: I really like solar weapons in the bless. Its very cheap since you get free astral bless points. Also undead are extremely dangerous to your angels: the perfect moral, somewhat high damage and ignoring fatigue makes them dangerous enemies. Regarding tetragramatrons (the sigils) you don't need a fort. A temple with a sigil will freespawn angels. you get more if you have a fort, and get a chance at higher angels. However guarding unforted temples with a tetragramatron can deter light raiders. Its still a S2 or F2 mage
@@LucidTactics It's a scaling system: a Temple and Tetra gives base angels. A temple, lab and tetra gives a chance at harbingers. Temple, tetra and fort gives a chance for principalities. The order scales and dominion strength increases the chances.
5:06 That is a hilarious lore entry 8:11 From a certain point of view, yes. Sadly as underrepresented today as the instructionsof giving to the poor and not defending the rich from having to share. 10:51 Apparently the description says that you can prophet one, hostile preach, run it back to a fort, make it kill itself for many gems on each fort and stuff. That sounds impractical butit could be an anti-stalemate tactic 17:38 You thrashed Order and maxxed productivity XD. Pretty sure it had to be the ltr way around 33:18 Those wings create wayyy yoo much static electricity! /jk 34:48 4 angels and a 7% monthly roll for a powerful commander looks like a good deal! 36:51 Homestuck Cherubim, just as the texts intended ^^. Very cool. Atemporal shadows of pluripotence is a good trade-off for not getting a geometric scream or omnilightning 1:03:13 Good on Illwinter to add that for sure 1:19:08 hilarious that you didn't see the North cave had a candle 1:50:21 I'll love to see part 2 when it releases ^^
Any chance you played that game under a different discord username? I played a hellenika game last year where the Bethel won and even got their end of the world event to go off. Can't remember the name of the game but it was hosted by DD if I remember correctly. Don't want to say the username in case it was you and you are still using it for incognito games.
@@LucidTactics I was the Eridu that failed the throne rush! I remember there was some frustration because it was Nabatem's throne destroying mechanic that even made the rush attempt possible but it was a real fun game. I still catch myself thinking sometimes about that game and how I could have done things differently as I made quite a few mistakes both for the rush attempt and in the turns afterwards, but you definitely deserved the win.
@@nickerson3437 ah yeah i was pretty salty, the combo of magical fort destruction & throne destruction reducing throne count & a large map mean its very easy for a game to be extremely anti-climactic. The good news is that as a result of that game & discussions with aethernomad and illwinter, we got a mod command added to dom 6 so that that thrones can be removed from the game without reducing thrones required to win. (this will make nabatem a lot more fun to play in a game with - assuming aethernomad updates how their throne destruction works) You played great though though and were trying to win the game as you saw best. So i was really just frustrated with the game/mod itself and not anyone in the game. Im pretty sure that frustration bled through to me being rude to you. Sorry about that chief.
@@LucidTactics No worries, I could certainly understand the frustration from your end. Good to hear that that mod command was added. I thought the throne destroying mechanic was pretty cool but in hindsight it did mess with the balance of the game, so good to know that it will be able to be implemented in Dom 6 without that problem. Cheers!
