You want to fight? You want to live forever? Then I will lead you. ... I come to offer you the glory of your victory, which Ermor will forever honor with inscriptions in stone and eternal flames. - Vercingétorix, Marverni High King
This was the nation I used to learn communions, and also how I learned the joys of stellar cascades spam. And then I learned about sacred pig spam. I laughed as my giant, trampling piggies rampaged through the world. Fun stuff. Good nation, many strengths, fun to play.
My funniest moment when learning Dominions 5 was when I put blood vengeance on the boars and then all my druid mages died from dropping gifts of heaven on them Looking forward to the stream
@@BabelBuilder yeah if you do something like Undying x5, Enchanted Blood and Blood Surge/Righteous Wrath then they can tank one swing, activate their berserk and then gradually regen back up past the minus HP whilst dealing crazy damage back it's even better with Awaken Tattoos and Temper Armour (especially if you give Boar Lords some bracers of protection), they end up with like 24-26 protection or so I used 3 Boar Lord thugs each with GSS, Bracers and some simple buffs to hack through a high prot Earth Serpent in like 3 rounds of Combat, they were each hitting for 20-30 something damage
I looked up the Communion fatigue rules in the Manual* and it doesn't matter whether slaves have the same paths: what matters is whether they have the path at least Half the Master's level. I believe that it checks that before adding the Communion bonus to the Master. I believe also that if you canst a booster spell (Summon Earth Power etc) then that does apply to the calculation Thus a E1 Slave and an E3 Master with SEP would be 2/4 and not get the quadruple fatigue. Unless you get the Slave up to the same as the master (or higher) you still get double fatigue (on that slave's share). * shocking I know but I was driven to it by no one ever actually explaining the numbers in their videos. A proper explanation of how invulnerability actually functions at that start of this video would have been good too given how much it features.
I'd like to make a stand alone guide for communions, but I want to have more experience under my belt first. Perhaps I am trying to hold the quality of information to too high of a standard for such a complex game.
@@BabelBuilder I don't pretend to know how to deploy them best (I haven't even played the game yet.. I seem to be obsessing about it enough that I wouldn't immediately get bored though so it's definitely in the q) but the mechanics are laid out in the manual and no one bothers to explain the critical maths.
@@BabelBuilderI think losing 8 in one game would fit the insane underwater nation that can randomly spawn insane prophets. In my case, I'm mainly refering to the naming convention of the Gauls in the Asterix comics. :3 The main duo Asterix and Obelix with his dog Dogmatix and their old druid Getafix who keep on doing the invincibility potion to backhand the Romans (Ermor?) into orbit.
@@BabelBuilder and this is where we came in. To remind you for the shit that you forgot. Let's hope that this won't be another fermoria where you're tied down by a nation we suggested 😉
As a new player your content is what has inspired me to really get started playing dominions, thank you for your work in this game it is very helpful to many of us!
So I've been messing around with an imprisoned rainbow non incarnate bless and I got two, both with the same paths of: F3A3W3E4S4D4N3G3B4, and similar blesses: x2 undying, unaging, larger, enchanted blood, blood surge, and either x2 heroism or x2 morale. The scales are either dom 7 T1P2H2G2Mi2Ma1 or dom 6 T1P2H2G2Mi2Ma2. I personally am leaning toward the x2 morale and magic 2 with 6 candles since stargazers don't benefit from herosim. Not sure if I need productivity 2 or if 1 will do just fine. I feel like the berserker is dangerous with our sacred mages who are all communioned up, just one battlefield spell or lucky arrow makes them do something very crazy lol. The nice thing about a berserker bless is while it is incarnate, your pretender doesn't have to be awake for it to work (at least 95% sure). I could probably fit berserker if we drop undying enchanted blood and the heroism/morale and reconfigure the scales a touch (which I will do now and only share if it is a great success 😅)
I like to think of berserk more as a way to mitigate the negative effects of wounds on a model. Ironically, I feel like it adds consistency to their ability in combat haha
I always want to build this nation around the Ambibate Noble Warrior. They just seem like such an above curve troop, until you realize how dang hard it is to buff the tatoos with only an AOE 1.
Pretty sure Dom 5 balance mod or jbem mod which would end up being a good collection of mods gave maverni a bigger AOE or a battle wide spell, if not it would be a good thing to add as a lvl 7 or 8 research as it's not hard to bring like 8+ mages to awake tatoos later in game.
THANK YOU for making these videos and covering dom6 content!! It so SO HELPFUL to watch these and learn more about the game while being away from the PC, but still having down-time.
I was only playing this nation yesterday and the subtleties of the units (e.g. Ambibate nobles) and number of possible builds I had missed when playing Dom 5 are embarrassing. I suspect that it is not better than your Berserk/large but I was using imprisoned inspirational presence with larger, unaging, LLV, undying, morale. Those Carnute/Ambibate nobles seemed ok as non capital reinforcements with battlefield speed the same as capital sacreds.
There are few nations that have a "correct" bless. One of the downsides to doing videos like this is making new players feel like they shouldn't experiment. Dominions is not a solved game and is wide and deep enough for individual skill to shine!
The sheer amount of boars you can have makes them kinda mandatory imho, for a battlefield bless i prefer blood vengeance+beserker, when employing them as raiders i like beserker + mapmove. beserker just makes sure they dont rout which the boars would otherwise be somewhat vulnerable too, beserker is also good for the sacred infantry since it already has beserker +4
@@BabelBuilder Admittingly yes, but another nice thing of a raider bless like wind walker + beserker is that it is always active withought requiring a blessing, where it otherwise requires a few mages working in a communion to to a devine bless on such a mass of boars with Marveni.
