My 42 year old son died on March 12, 2024. His memorial service is tomorrow. Hearing this young lady play this song again blesses my ENTIRE soul. God just put it in my video feed to minister to me "on today."
As a musician in the church, from electronic to Hammond to Allen Pipe...this young lady definitely has a gift only that God can give!! May the Lord continue to richly bless her!!!
Dominique Johnson My GOD.....what a blessing. You young lady have mastered your craft. God is honored!! Keep on exalting Him. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE POST MORE!!
Just my humble opinion: I think she uses the Leslie switch perfectly, holding a note or chord while the horn/rotor loses speed, in exactly the right moment, which is pure magic, then switch back to fast for more intensity. Same with the drawbars, her settings always sound beautiful and changing the tone between phrases the right way makes the organ talk. Loving it!
I’m actually laughing at some of you guys commenting about her keep switching the Leslie. She is switching as she should ! It’s meant to for expression and she gave it time to speed up and slow down as needed ...if that’s how she express herself through music them so be it ! It was flawless to me
When you see musicians changing knobs and pushing buttons that's because they haven't been taught well. I've been playing the organ over 30 years and all of that tremolo switching and drawbar pulling just ain't necessary.
This dear gifted sister makes this organ sing. From her use of the Leslie to her runs, phrasing, registrations, chord voicings, I wouldn’t change a thing. I just wish I could play like she does! May she always go on giving God glory and blessing the congregation with her tremendous gifts! 🙏👍
This woman can truly play the hammond organ! I started playing the hammond b3 back in Detroit back in the 80s at a young age until this present day. She knows exactly what she's doing The leslie switch is for fast or slow rotation inside the the speaker for expression in certain parts of the song That you're playing . Some switches have tremlo or chorale. People that gave this woman thumbs down doesn't know anything about music or the hammond organ!!!!!!! Play that organ my sister !!!👍👍👍😎
Dominique Johnson..Very humble, also,,I hear the potential my sista' & you're very encouraging & I just want to encourage u..You're definitely headed in the right direction..I would love u to become one of the best female organist out there..I play myself.A board on top of the organ & one on my right side..I hear u..& u are extremely beautiful,,with all due respect..🎹🙌😂✊🗿
Dominique Johnson "You are not as good as Cory" is inacurate though what you mean is. Perhaps you should say, that you are still evolving in technicality and artistic expression. But, the value of "good" that a musician has, comes from God. God himself is the highest level of "Good" and has reserved the goodness that comes from your giftedness for the heart, soul, and spirit of the listener. David was used by God on harp/ lyrie to vex a demon from saul. I'm sure he sounded nothing like Cory, or Eddie Brown, or Travis Sails, and yet a DEMON was cast out. Phil Collins plays nothing like Tatum, yet his music is so good, that it's made people cry. The value of your musical goodness, money can not buy queen. Keep shining queen👑!
As at July 2020, its about 300 thumbs down over a half million views. I think we all can safely say we have taste. God be praised for this young lady's talent.
It was anointed from the 1st key she struck until the last one. And she was so humble the entire duration of her ministering!! This was FIERCE!!!!! ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS!!!!
It's funny how we pay close attention as to when she uses the tremolo switch, it's no different than any of the men players. If you watch Cory Henry he uses it just as much depending on what he's playing. It's all about cord expression. Man or woman she's an excellent musician period!!!!!!!Play on sister!
What is the constant reaching for the switch for!?!?!? 😵someone please enlighten me on that. It doesnt seem like something that I would be fond of doing . in currently on piano at my church but desire to learn organ
Lord she just got up and walked ran and skipped all over them keys so smooth. When I grow up I hope I can play that well. I’m in my 40s I better hurry up lol
What an awesome blessing she is! She devoted countless hours to bring her amazing talent, sweet spirit, and gracious service to God and the body of Christ!
This young Lady has an awesome anointing People.Take it from a Musician and Keyboardist. Her chord progressions are so clean and well thought out.Or just inspirationally through the spirit of God.I love it how she doesn't overplay like a lot of male organists she stays in the pocket.
I heard this yesterday. I like her warm chord voicings, her organ sets and clean precise playing style. Most organist sounds muddy. Just a bunch of noise. Hers is so beautiful. Warm and rich chord voicings. Love it.
In most cases when you use a really great camera of sound and video quality you hear everything. She did beyond great and is very talented. The switch was right on point for the Leslie to spin at all the right times. When you master the sound of the Leslie and harmony on the drawbars, you are really playing the hammond. Some master the sound but not quite the harmony. They play great but the sound doesn't stand out and it sounds muddy. She was clean and the Leslie was on point clicks and all from the switch. She did that!!!
As a organist, i must say phenomenally anoited!!! As a pastor i say, woman of God be encouraged, for your anointing will drive the enemy away. And as a teacher i say, there will always be Peter's, whom instead of glorifying God for the miracle they are walking in, pay attention to the water they are walking on!!! If you focus on God, you dont notice the switch!!! Now "SWITCH" your focus!!!
Continue to play skillfully as unto God even in the instruments. God be Glorified in the good of those who recognize the anointing, the gift. Blessed indeed!🙂🙏🙌
Wow, straight chills. Well go on lady go on! Jumped down through a couple of comments and I just wouldn't respond to the negative to much. Those in tune know what's anointed and honey from the second I hit go it's been on and poppin. I mean my Lord, praise God for the anointing that is all. Be blessed!
This is absolutely beautiful! I’m an instrumentalist and if very much appreciate the fact that your skill, musical expressiveness, and pure love ❤️ for our Lord and Savior (sincere MOTIVE to honor God and not the praise of mankind) can clearly be heard in your music! Thank you for demonstrating that playing LOUDLY isn't anointed, playing from a pure heart with the right motive IS!
Amazing!!! I would love to see more talented women and the skills that they bring to the table on instruments. Oh and her haircut was slayed.....lol....js...
This brings back memories and inflections of Maxx Frank on the organ. This piece LITERALLY settled my Spirit and put me in a tranquil place. Dominique is a phenomenal musicians. This is anointed artistry.
Jason Acosta An explosion? It would be more than that...I agree with you...you just can’t begin to imagine the two of them together...that would be something we would never forget. Thanks for your comment.
TheMusicGuy she played more than one hymn....great is thy faithfulness, what a friend we have in jesus...Yes Lord...and i forget what other it was a few
Humble, powerful and blessed!!! What an awesome gift from God! It is a joy to hear someone play with such passion. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you!
This is a beautiful example of the heart and soul gliding across the keys, pedals and Leslie switch. Music lessons can never teach this. Only a God inspired, holy spirit driven heart and soul can deliver this. I needed this today and I’m so thankful that you have shared this on RU-vid. Blessings!
In the end I don't think that God is going to be asking her or judging her on how many times she hit the Leslie switch? But if she played, used her gift to and for his glory?? He's not going to care then and news flash" He doesn't care now"!! Keep playing on for the Lord Dominique!! God bless you always..😇

Very disappointing!!! Why do ppl use titles for click bait & they do not perform what they say? 🤔 I was patiently waiting & waiting & waiting for her to get the organ set & warmed up... no hymns!
I know this was 3yrs ago but Drummers: Let this be a lesson, you have to recognize when when you are needed and when to just fall back and let whomever do their thing. 🤦🏾♂️
Amen girl!! You got the gift, let it shine and go forth bringing those weary and longing to the Lord!!! I can’t emphasize just how deep and profound this kind of music is to me.
To those that dont understand a Leslie speaker attached to a Hammond B3. The Leslie has a horn in the top of the cabinet that either spins or stays in one place. Pending where the switch is that she is moving causes it to spin the horn making a (vibrato) like sound or just playing straight. Depending on the sound you're looking for, you control all of it through the switch movement. Therefore the only practice is to constantly switch and play.
dominique you and your music are such a blessing to the world not only by how well you can play, but because you and your music is anointed byJesus please dont ever loose that because of it you stand out from the rest much blessings to you sincerely. from a man of god perspective keep being faithful.
That sounded great! There will always be haters, unfortunately. When you "pull the curtain and look behind" you see the Leslie switch getting used like every 4 seconds. I bet no one would of complained if the video was shot from the back of the organ! 😉
Mark Landes I think you’re correct. I never thought of that but after reading your comment I listened to the piece again without looking at the video. I t would have lost a tremendous amount of colour if she hadn’t made all those changes.
wow, impressed...not very many female organists...and she has a great ear and a great touch. Blessings! My new favorite and she's so humble...love it! Much respect Dominique. -educapro
