Art of listening and watching should be continued life long. When you listen, you are thoughtless. One simultaneously cannot listen as well as think or talk. Thinking is nothing but self talking in a low vibration. If someone speaks loudly on his own, we call him mad, but everyone of us do this self talking in a low vibration where we can only hear it and call that as Thinking. So is it not thinking a madness? The Thinker himself another thought. The Thinker who assumes as if controller of thought is itself a thought. So Thinker cannot stop thinking. But we can divert our attention from thinking to the body and surrounding. Try this, focus your attention first to the body movements fully, thinking will reduce. Focus your attention to the Now or to the present situation the body is in. This attention, is what we really are, in that there is no difference, whether you are a boy or girl or you are so and so religion and I am so and so religion. Don't fight with your thoughts or don't control your thinking, just remember where I am, what this body is doing now. We are thinking continuously at all times, that means even when the body is in full action, thinking is going on. When you listen to a song, suddenly a memory pops up related to that song, and we stop listening to the song and dwell in that thought. Now the attention is gone from listening songs to the thinking. So all we need to do is focus your attention to the present activities that the body is doing. That is meditation, freedom from thinking.
