Thanks for your honest review guys. I ended up returning my Ultra earbuds today after significant bluetooth issues that shouldn’t exist in earbuds this expensive. After purchasing and returning the QCII’s last year, I’m genuinely shocked that these issues had not been rectified in the ‘Ultra’ range and this release really felt like a cash grab.
My quiet comfort 2s are currently on their way to bose, they're replacing them with the ultras ugh. I'm mad seeing not only the 2s but the ultras both have bluetooth problems. I couldn't get mine to stay connected to anything. I went, and purchased JBL tour pro 2s. I haven't had any issues with them. I can literally either go from my tablet to my phone without any issues. They connect to both at the same time. Stay connected, and have good volume and ANC works great.
At least Bose offers the 90-day trial for the buds. I couldn't resist the offer, so I am rockn the Immersion Mode in the gym is where these buds shine for me. They are loud and create energy for working out!
what do you mean when you are on thee phone, there is no phone, the mic is a JOKE a big fat JOKE, not just on this but on OPEN earbuds too. @bose seriously
These earbuds are the best, but the white noise on all modes with nc on or off is really noticeable unlike the QC 1. it’s such a shame that Bose can’t adjust this with an update.
I returned the Beats Fit Pros because to me they lacked bass so I bought the Bose Ultras, I'm no expert but to me they sound awesome, probably the best audio for music I've ever heard, the immersion and quiet modes are incredible, plus they stay in place while I workout. Besides the 90 day return policy if you buy directly from Bose they'll give you 100% trade in credit towards the next version of earbuds. I got mine on sale for $249. If there is something better out there I can't imagine how great it must sound!
Sticking with my qc2 earbuds and qc35 headphones. Too many better choices like Sony link buds s, jabra elite 8,senheiser momentum 3 or any soundcore and pocket the 1-200 bucks. Unless you really want the best in class noise cancelling. Thanks for your honest and complete reviews.
Hi , very informative and well made videos! Right now i have the bose quiet comfort earbuds (not sure if i have version 1 or 2)and the sound is amazing although finding the right ear fit took quite alot of work. Do you guys think purely based on the sound quality, that there is a better earbud on the market then the ones from bose? I listen to the wired earphones from bose years ago and i thought the sound was so much better than anything i heard before. Maybe you guys could do a comparison sometimes to see if wired earphones are any better then their wireless counterpart. Fijne dag!
With a name like Ultra I would expect wireless charging and Multi point. Snapdragon Sound is coming with the 8 gen 3 processor and you'll be able to listen to music over Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth. So it will be important in the near future. But I digress I'm just an amateur. Thanks guys for the honest review. 💯👍🇺🇸
With the July 2024 update you now get a multipoint feature. Also I got a pair for $249. They sound great and my brother said I sound great over the phone. They are also comfortable and stay in my ears. Time to consider these at the top of your list
Thanks lads. I've never bought into the Bose ecosystem. Their app sucks, their sound is just always just ok and the price they demand for their brand is ridiculous. Great review lads. I completely agree with your critique. Such a horridly overrated brand.
I just returned my Ultra earbuds this last weekend. I enjoyed the sound quality and generally enjoyed the noise cancellation. But the noise cancellation was negated by an electronic crinkling in my left ear that was beyond white noise. I had all the other issues you mentioned, and these could not be justified for $300. I kept my Jabra Elite 8 Active earbuds for $200 - they don’t have the same sound quality experience, perform perfectly as advertised in every other way.
@@martink82 I had a similar issue with Beats Fit Pro when they first came out. I tried two or three pairs and always had the problem. This time around, I just assumed that if it’s happening on one pair and others have the same issue, then it’s going to happen on all of them. So I didn’t order a second pair of the Bose, but it’s good to know that someone who did order again had the repeated issue.
@@hassannawaz9054 I have noticed that as well--the volume level of a call is not equal to that listening to music... Im sending them back and ordered the ELITE 10 by JABRA!
Ok people read carefully: i bought bose ultra earbuds and headphones! The immersive mode is NOT WORTH THE COST!!! if you listent to music, don't put the immersive mode, because you loose bass in the sound !! This is the same with the headphones !!!! App with the headphones works perfectly, with the earbuds is.... don't buy themmmm !!!!! 😂😂 same as the qcii, the app SUCK !!! OK, FOR SOUND: if you have a samsung ultras23 ultra, you can't have aptx hd !!!! It's only aptx adaptive !!! So with 90% of cells, you are stuck with sbc or aac !!!!!! BOSE, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!! I USED TO WORK FOR YOU BOSE AND I AM ASHAMED OF WHAT THE COMPANY IS NOW !!!! PEOPLE DON'T BUY BOSE PRODUCTS !!! DHRME ARE RIGHT!! LISTEN TO THOSE GUYS, THEY ARE FAIR AND HONEST !!! ONE OF THR BEST, IF NOT THE BEST AUDIO CHANNEL ON RU-vid !!!
Terrific review, production and presentation. I have the Bose Ultra Earbuds and you are spot-on with some of your points. I experienced the one earbud issue with it not on, but a recent update appeared to solve that. I had one bud that was falling out with the Large band. I called Bose customer service and the sent me their XL/XS kit for free. That normally sells for a preposterous $15. Kudos to Bose. Mine sound great. They aren't tiny, but they are light and comfortable. The size of the case isn't an issue for me. In fact, I don't want it too small. My white pair are easy to find. BTW, when you get the right tip and band setup, these are the absolute best for staying secure. I can run in them and they never budge.
I was gifted the Bose QC, I LOVED the ANC & comfort. But I sent them back b/c those freaking things would not connect, only one would connect, or finally connect only to drop in a few minutes. I bought the Sony WX5 - ugh, what a mistake. They take forever to figure out "the seal" so their barely there ANC can work. And they hurt, and I can only wear them for about an hour. I'm thinking about Jabra Elite 10 just for comfort at this point. I would really just like to find a pair I can sleep in while listening to audiobooks. Sigh.
I have only one thing to say about this video. ‘Sorry to have bought assuming this issue may have been fixed by now’. I was absolutely fuckin wrong. A phenomenal sounding earbuds with worse than a third grade connectivity problems. My 1000rs earbuds work 100x better than these. What a terrible mistake ive made
"bose seems to be operating in its own world" The most accurate thing anyone has ever said about Bose. They are clowns P.S. I returned mine for all the reasons you highlighted. Thanks for being transparent and honest. It goes a long way
I live in EU, and unfortunately I couldn't return my earbuds qc2, because in my country we have a 2 weeks return policy. If only I would know how many problems will I have with these buds.. I mean, the quality of sound is good, but the Bluetooth connection and microphone sucks! I have all the issues what you guys stated. 1. Sudden disconnect 2. only one bud connects 3. Even after putting them back in the case, not connecting 4. App is a disaster 5. In case of slight wind, forget the calls, nobody hears you. For the price of 350 euro, definitely not what you expect..
You guys hit it precisely! I purchased a pair of these about a month ago and have since returned them. You didn't hit enough on the lack of wireless charging though - at $300. Right on also with the 'transparency' mode - I found it terrible! While the sound was pretty good, less expensive earbuds also sound quite good and are including wireless charging as well as good ANC. I was so very disappointed in them.
the biggest my concern is the battery, there is a LOT of used not working soundsports free buds with not working left ear, my too. The battery is of a bad quality there(( thank you for review! But I very like the sound of the bose
Great review, guys! I just sold my 1st gen earbuds, and ordered the Ultras (yeah, there's no apostrophe in Ultras!) as they have the low latency aptX feature. Trying to get a low latency setup for IEMs as I play drums in two bands, and a good pair of noise cancelling wireless IEMs is the holy grail... for me anyhow ;-)
@@DHRME Nah, some sort of compatibility issue according to Bose! I bought the Avantree Relay as it uses the aptX codecs, same as the Bose Earbuds Ultra, but one of them is forcing the codec onto the crappy SBC (I assume) as there is about a half second of latency, and the sound is a bit thin. Watching videos and the like from my my iPad or iPhone is fine, as Bose also uses AAC which has a more than acceptable latency. Trouble is it's Apple proprietary, so very few companies, if any, make a compact Bluetooth transmitter that supports AAC! Why the hell can't one aptX device talk to another? Grrrrrr
The bose ultra earbuds don't let you disable touch controls, even if u disable them from bose app. Even while chewing food , these would pause ur music , these r probably the most stupid earbuds and buggiest earbuds ever and not worth 10 dollars
Considering how terrible Bose’s implementation of multipoint has been on their QC 45 and NC 700 headphones, it’s absence is almost a blessing here. Still, even the most basic Sony e-waste has multipoint (and with better reliability), so why can't Bose manage?
I picked up the original QC2 for $100 discount and I’m still not sure they’re worth the money. I’m more excited about getting the Free Pro 3 at this point… lol Thanks as always guys💯💪👍
will advice stop buying these expensive things where you it get updates and once it break they don't take the responsibilities of what they pushed on the deices i hope they gained a lesson and people should go with unbranded product which last long buying a earbuds costing 300 Usd and in 1 year time it stop working and the Bose representative or technicians told it cant be repaired so what is the use of buying an expensive things , we buy expensive thigs for it to last long abut here it is inverse better but those cheap Chinese product which last more and no updates or whatsoever very disappointed i was s Bose client for years but now no way Since i have lost 1000 of Usd in all these products just cause of updates ,
I have been a bose fan all my life. Used all of there earphones till now. And then i bought qc earbuds 1. They are so freaking shit. All the problems mentioned in this video exist since their first generation i guess. And now their battery has got some issue and bose said that they dont fix earbuds and wearables. I'll have to get a new pair. I bought them for 250 dollars and in 1 and half years tbey are dead. I dont think im gonna use their products anymore. I think one should be a fan of a product and not the company.
wow an actual accurate ass review that talks about QC issues!?!? holy shit didn't know such reviewers existed. All these "premium" brands releasing subpar products at high ass prices...
You missed the biggest issue with the Bose QC II / Ultra's... they are completely unusable with exercising. Every step of your run results in an ear shattering loud "popping" sound. They straight-up hurt my ears. I have a lot of TWS sets and the Bose are the only ones which do this. On the flip side, their ANC is amazing.
The original soundsport were amazing. Yes they looked like Shrek ears but they were so comfortable and never fell out. They also had the connection issues. If they just fixed that then it would be the kind of earbuds across platforms
i bought this in Japan's biggest chain store just january 2024, i realized that the right side sound farther (a little softer) than the left. I thought my right ear has problem, so I asked my wife and children to test it. all same result! especially in aware mode. for this price, i deeply regret buying it. Bose qualtity control has deteroriate thru the years. what a pity. and i m living in Indonesia dont know where i shld complain to. sigh.....!😢
As a Bose QC ultra user I suggest you set an Eq and just Uninstall the App. And forget the app is installed. If the App is open the buds just go crazy and all the problems start to occur only if the app is open or was used in that session.
What's a good review I regretted buying them I can't talk to people on the phone because I can hear perfec but the person on the other side can't hear me because roo much noise they hear the ambient noise but not my voice, not good earbuds.
This was very enjoyable to watch - I really like the passing back and forth and also no nonsense as well. I have the QCII but the Ultras do not seem ultra enough to warrant an upgrade. I also feel like I just got my OCII last year.
I bought the Ultra Headphones which are great - just bought a pair of the QCll earbuds Refurbished which are great also - Great Review glad I watched it - maybe I’ll wait till the ultra come up on the refurbished list 👍
I'm a die hard Bose user. It's the first time I hear that the same problems from Bose QC Earbuds reamain in QC 2 Ultra. I was about to buy them this weakend. I'll pass and wait for a Bose model that keeps up up the times. I do love the comfort and the quiet mode.
Thanks for you honesty i both the qc2 8 months ago i changed them 3 times the whole unit and still as you have said problems now i was going for the ultra but i think i am going to have the same problem
Well, I guess you told them a thing or two, but will they listen??? Keep at it. You've done very well! I am paraphrasing Young Mr Grace from the TV series, "Are You Being Served "😊
Honestly, nothing new. I experienced multiple issues with my NC700 - constant stuttering when using multipoint (sometimes even with a single device). Disconnecting from the iPhone during calls. Sounding like a robot when battery goes down to around 10%. Random reboots from time to time. LED indicator which should change the colour when battery is low but it never does it. Battery lasting 17-18 hrs since new (bought two pairs, the same time after updating to the newest firmware they released). They have never fixed a single issue I reported. We had dozens of threads on the Bose Community Forum related to those issues but instead of fixing them, they closed the forum. This is how they deal with issues. So after being happy customer with QC35 and QC20i for years, I bought two pairs of NC700 for working purposes (best mic ANC at given time) and now I know - my journey with Bose is over.
@@DHRME They go this way for years now. They need a cold shower - significant drop of revenue due to losing customers in favour of competitors. Anyway, guys, you're doing an amazing job! I recently bought headphones based on your reviews for a gift - and they rock! I discovered new brand thanks to you and made a great choice. Thank you! If I could ask you - will IPX4 be enough for usage like running (in general - quite a lot of sweat)? I am looking for perfect earbuds for me (calls from very noisy environments) and circulating between Jabra Elite 10 and Technics AZ80. I am eager to go with Technics but I am not sure if I can have them during workouts - that's my only doubt.
The problems might be fixed with a firmware update. But the big question for me is when is 1More EVO is bringing out their new, more improved version. See what I did there?
I bought these because I wanted the best ANC possible. Nothing but disappointment and frustration with these. Yes, the ANC is better than most other earbuds, but at what cost?? That horrible mosquito noise that Bose literally states on their website is normal. The controls are so sensitive and when I push them in and out to adjust them (they don’t fit well in my ears) they constantly pause/play sound, and will switch to my Apple Music app even if I was playing audio from a different app. If I answer a phone/video call on my phone, the earbuds will immediately disconnect?? I’m sure there’s other issues I’m missing. Extremely buggy, feel like cheap plastic, the earbuds themselves are huge and awkward shaped, and just overall feel poor quality. You guys said it best, the ANC is literally the only thing they have going for them.
I did mention this before here after I literally gave the QCII away which I had for freeI: Bose as THE leading ANC headphone brand of decades based on their own harware and software platforms and factories is struggling more and more. Not lomg ago they anounced a partnership aith Qualcomm, the current world leader and dominator in high performance but very cost effective audio platforms with ANC etc. With QC tiny teams of 3-10 people can bring a decent ANC headset into the market with very little time and budget. So Bose currently seems to be in the middle of an reorg of platforms, mode of operation (inhouse R&D and manufacturing vs outsourced), headcount etc and I bet they struggle a lot internally. I wouldnt be surprised if the QCII atill is using a Bose hardware platform while the ultra in the same form factor replaced it with Qualcom. Their amdroid app was already shit aith the Bose 700 and the QCII but now a poor intern had to integrate it with the new Qualcom platform in no time. Sony seems to be the other brand who is still maintaining its own harware platform (for the top line headsets the the MX5). But I guess the lower budget like the realy great Linkbuds S might use Qualcom as well. Recently I could abserve a similiar downspiral of a former successfull global company from the inside. Thats no fun for the people there. Global competition is so extremly hard and you need to adapt and move fast as an organization otherwise you will die.
Do you know what is frustrating that Apple and Bose made the same mistake for every EAR tip! That awful oval shape so soft it doesn’t even fit in the ear. I have to rebuild with the old-fashioned around ear tips, crazy glue it to the Apple AirPods.
That background hiss or white noise is truly terrible. Ive had several sets of buds including the sony xm5 and none of them have that background hiss. Terrible.
SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME HEARS IT!!!! That feedback noise ("test tones") sound like the tones of a hearing test!!! With it's raising and falling tones---I just couldn't deal with it--I thought my first pair was defective and took them back to TARGET thinking they were a bad pair!
Glad I didn't watch this before getting them, I might not have bought(technically didnt buy them) them if I saw this first, ive tried many different earbuds lately and these, best ive ever tried. I was so sad when 1 of the earbuds on my qc2 stopped working out of nowhere, I'm super happy that the qc2 broke now didnt even have them for a year but all it took was a 5min conversation and I basically just gave them serial code and was replied with that they will send me new pair, but they send me a brand new pair of these instead! :D Bose is king
i bought the bose qc earbuds 2, they are wayyy too bassy. the noise canceling and all that stuff is really good, and they are comfortable, BUT THERES TOO MUCH BASS!!! even if i try to use the bose app to EQ it, it doesnt help, nor does external eq apps.
I had constant connectivity issues, had to keep taking them in & out of the case to reconnect. And the Call volume & volume while streaming movies & shows is very low. It makes no sense!
I had the most frustrating experience with Bose these last two years. They sent me 2 earbuds because the first one I bought started glitching, then the one they sent wouldn't connect to the device, and now this one keeps switching between "emersion, quiet, aware" even when I haven't touched the app. I'm going to try to work with them for a few weeks before I contact support, The only reason why I bought Bose was so I wouldn't be dependent on Apple's products, but apprently imma have to buy apple earbuds.
The earbuds are great when working,,,but make sure they are only registered to one device at a time on the bluetooth,,,,that solved the connection issue for me. I had a major discount on mine or otherwise I think I would have returned.
