I disagree with so much of this 1. a man doing the vacuuming ABSOLUTELY impacts my attraction to them. I’ve broken up with 2 men now after living with them due to their lack of effort and leaving chores for me to do around the house. It’s a turn off and shows you’re not a team. 2. as someone living in Australia what planet is he living on with activities plus dinner dates once a week? Mini golf etc is extremely expensive plus dinner, for someone you’re not actually sure you’ll like or not? We’re in an economic crisis there’s plenty of ways to create a nice date without doing all that. 3. for a woman to be fearful or holding back isn’t always a bad thing. the right man can be patient with you and work through it especially if you’ve just been in a difficult relationship. 4. if he cheats he doesn’t like or love you. this is such a blanket statement, men can cheat due to feelings of inadequacy, feeling invisible, depression, mid life crisis..

When he said we have to wear short skirts, long eyelashes and red lipstick to try to be more attractive to our partner, made me want to barf. If your partner isn't showing interest in you even just wearing sweats, then you are wasting your time because they'll most likely always be like that 🤷🏼‍♀️

I understand this response. I think sometimes, it's the delivery of this type of advice. I think it is natural for someone to sit up and take notice when we put a different type of effort into our looks. So when we do our hair, makeup, put on a flattering outfit, that is very exciting for the man (and for me too) just like we would get excited for a man who cleans up, fresh hair cut, trim beard, cologne, etc

Loved this episode; this guy is super knowledgeable and I could listen to that accent all day lol BUT I must say that I didn’t necessarily agree with him saying a guy who’s 40 who’s never been married or had kids is a “little weird” or “a touch bizarre” …I don’t like the stigma this carries tbh….I’m 36 and have never been married or had kids and I ideally want to meet someone my age or a few years older who hasn’t either so who’s to say he’s just not willing to settle and hasn’t met the right person…I think back in our parents age, sure this would’ve been a “red flag” per say but the dating game is so different these days

‘Be a sunflower. Wear short skirts. Long eyelashes. Red lipstick’. Really? Really? If ‘real’ men are so clever and protective and strong as he says they are why does every move of the ‘the feminine’ seem to need to coaxing, manoeuvring and persuading him? Being indirect rather than direct. And yet we’re supposed to be ‘joyous’ and ‘always in the present’. What the heck kind of warped view is this? I’m sorry but it’s so condescending and contradictory. On the one hand we’re meant to receive and be ‘high value’ (so sick of that phrase) but the way he paints men is as simplistic creatures. This is painful to listen to

Not sure that Jake is entirely right. I make more than my husband so he can't always pay for all our meals. More importantly, when he can he does and that isn't less than half the times we go out to eat. He's always there for me, STILL gets me flowers all the time, is suuuuper thoughtful in the gifts he gives me and shows up for me ALL the time. Obviously if he could pay for everything he would but right now, he doesn't. It would be different if he made less or made more than me and did not want or didn't pay for our dates at all. I think that is key. One of the things Jake DID get right is to not to date a guy who has a short ___ complex. Often times they project that insecurity onto you. Truuuuuust!

If a man is out there busting his ass and slaying dragons, he wants to come home to peace and comfort, not a mess that he has to tiredly pitch in for too. Occasionally of course, yes he can help, esp if he helped make the mess. But if it’s a situation where both parents are working, kids are in daycare because neither one of the spouses is making solid really good money nor has a stable foundation, sounds like they weren’t ready to get married or have kids to begins with.

He’s not saying a man shouldn’t do anything in the home. He’s saying it just won’t make it him more attractive. Just like women doing cleaning/cooking doesn’t make them more attractive. More helpful, yes. A man should still do 50/50 of what needs to be done at that point in the home when he’s home. Whether that’s dishes or putting to kids to bed. A woman isn’t a full time maid/servant/slave just because she is a SAHM or works part-time or earns less.

There's a difference between portraying that altogether for everyone to see publicly on a dating app versus doing that for your man's eyes. It's more about attention/access when he was speaking on profile. If you're doing the sexy stuff for just him, it's different. Similar to how I'll swipe next on dating profiles with men who have their shirts off etc..bc to me its screaming attention and I don't need that for husband material.. but if we dated, I'd enjoy that at home obviously.

He is not lying about scent. I can recall two men that I dated that had everything checked off on paper. Even my friends and my family were pushing me towards getting serious with these two guys that I dated at different times but I clearly remember one, the doctor I didn’t even want to kiss him. And I didn’t like the way he smelled.. The other guy, 10 years later, was very handsome and came with An entourage of friends. But that was the problem I felt like I was dating a girl, anything that happened in our relationship he would announce to his friend group, and he had a large social media presence. I don’t like that in a man also wasn’t a fan of the way he smelled.

I don’t hate all of it by any means, but It’s all a bit old fashioned and heteronormative. I wonder what advice he’d give gay couples? And why is he reminding me of Andrew Tate? It’s all the ‘high value’ talk I think
@JeNn0mic0n
@JeNn0mic0n 5 месяцев назад
“Heteronormative” 😆 Oh here we go. When it comes to same sex couples, you’re almost always going to have one with more submissive and “feminine” energy than the other because the male/female dynamic still translates to giver/receiver just as it does with most standard relationships. Also old-fashioned relationships lasted longer and most are still going strong today. Modern relationships don’t work because men wanna act like women and women want to act like men. Kristin even says that she has a very masculine mindset, which happens easily when you’ve had to fend for yourself for a long time, trauma, feel stronger and more confident than most men out there, etc. It’s why she like most women are having a hard time finding a true guy who checks off most boxes; most out there are whiney, broke, uninspiring and confused babies with mommy/daddy issues. Same can be said for a lot of women out there. Unfortunately lots of movies, songs and shows have disillusioned people into what a healthy relationship is, and what they want vs what they need.
@natashagravill6334
@natashagravill6334 5 месяцев назад
So you’re the guy in the video? Jake? Sounds like the same voice coming through. I don’t buy it I’m afraid, relationships are not this simple and formulaic and different things work for different folks. Good for you if this all works for you. To me it sounds like a pretty rigid and prescriptive ideology that’s kinda off putting and doesn’t allow for the complexity of human interactions. Grand statements like ‘modern relationships don’t work’ or ‘most old fashioned relationships are still going strong’ - where’s your evidence for any of these claims? It’s all a bit silly

I think one of the issues is that the “male perspective” advice Kristin is getting comes from Justin, who’s gay and ultimately isn’t out to date, marry, reproduce or sleep with her. Most of all, he wouldn’t know much about what a straight guy is thinking nor is he the best person to get advice from since he comes from a more feminine best friend state of mind, not a masculine one. This is counterproductive and not helpful to Kristin at all, so she needs to hear things that may sound harsh or brutal, but is more realistic.

@jazzyg530
@jazzyg530 5 месяцев назад
I am picky AF as well. But the reason is that I'm not conventional and my relationships thrive when they are with people who are on a similar wavelength as myself and who have a compatible lifestyle. The more unique you are the more picky you have to be. Unless you want to date someone and invest energy into the connection only for it to fail because you have different schedules, love languages, diets, hobbies, etc. Also, the more you value yourself the more you seek a healthy and valuable partner. I enjoy a clean space so I don't do well with messy partners. I love to cook but I don't eat meat and won't be cooking any for someone else. I want children and most men I've met already have them or don't want them (because of my age group perhaps). I think it's okay to be picky. Because the alternative is to settle, and that doesn't end well for either party.

this stuff about masculinity and femininity is really outdated and sexist IMO

I hate how he makes these blanket statements as though every man and every woman is the same. What a load of nonsense, couldn't finish the episode.

exactly and not every relationship is the same...he goes on about going on dates every 2nd weekend...which is apparently dinner and activity,,....um not everyone can afford to that every 2n weekend...especially if you have to pay a babysitter and some of us dont want to go out every 2nd weekend. some couples are quite happy just hanging out at home :)

He really missed the point about it being expensive and stuff. Buy a cat and sit at home….? not everyone has 100’s of dollars to be taking randoms on possible wasted dates lol.

That’s why his whole point is to ditch a lot of the randoms who are losers, insecure, don’t take care of themselves, have mommy/daddy issues, and are broke, and go for higher quality people while casting a wider net for them.

I feel like if you want the foundation of your relationship to be rooted in antiquated and capitalistic ideals, this is the coach for you. Love the podcast, but wow, I couldn’t disagree more with so many of his ideas.
