Oh my God the micro fiber gloves is a brilliant idea! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I just used a towel like a weirdo. I'm going to have to try that. That could save me so much time I have some pretty large plants. Great video!!
I think about your plant videos all day and constantly catch myself inspecting the plants the way you taught me 🤣 I have still to own any plants and keep them alive but still your videos make me feel educated 🥰♥️🤣
Thank you for this video!!! I’m a plant person I love watching all your vids but this was an issue in my own world and the solutions I’ve been using aren’t working!!
can you talk about caring for an umbrella plant please? my grandmother passed recently and someone gave us an umbrella plant as one of the gifted floral arrangements. it’s huge and beautiful and i wanna keep it! i just don’t know how to care for it🥺
As it is an insecticide, read the label, look up the Safety Data Sheet, and follow the instructions. Wearing chemical resistant gloves under the microfiber ones is a must. Your grandchildren will be able to thank you
So now that the weather is getting cooler and I'm bringing my plants back inside what are some steps I should take to get them used to the inside again and if there is any bugs how do I get rid of them
My mother taught me that soaps and basically anything except water shouldn't be used on the underside of the leaves (she was a florist/gardener for 30 years), because it suffacates them. Plants "breath" on the underside of the leaves and if you put things like soap on them it cloges the pores that they do it with. I don't want to sound mean I'm just curious if this solution is different in this aspect.
nice prince of orange! mine sometimes the new leaves tips are kinda dark and shriveled. my thought was humidity but its about 50% with my humidifier running. any other ideas would be helpful
This video motivated me to entirely clean my areca. He's happy now. (Used two toilet gloves, one part beer one part water, 5 drops soap, and a lot of elbow grease).
YES PLEASE!! I would immediately join and would also be willing to pay a subscription fee if it can be verified that the subscription fee money actually goes directly to Krystal and not piecemealee away only to leave her a few bucks here and there. Krystal is the ONLY plant content creator that I subscribe to AND actually listen to their tips, tricks, and treatment suggestions.
If you just do this with normal water it should be enough most of the time. Using dish soap in hort mixtures (e.g. homemade white oil insecticide) often will create the risk of turning soil alkaline and killing the plant.
@Renai Paul I need to know this too!! And one of my succulents gets gnats horribly. Also, I have the rose bush of my late husbands. He babied it and took such great care of it. I've heard you need to cut the "sucker" leaves off. How do you know which ones those are? And those pesky web things that get all over them... So irritating! @Plants with Krystal
Same same, but I don't use any chemicals on any of my plants...care for your plants properly and there is no need, whatsoever, to use any form of bug sprays/chem's. 👌👌
If you’re only using directly on the leaves, then it should be fine.. but not the actual fruit or vegetables- because it’s an insecticide. So you don’t want to ingest it:) So just be very careful when spraying.. but if it were me, I’d try to find some sort of nontoxic way to go about cleaning your edible plants- just to be on the safe side:)
